E-LAB (Sounds mysteriously technical doesn't it) stands for Eating Like A Bird

We are working together to support each other and lose that weight! Here we go....

Meece, come post a link to this thread on the Middle-Aged Women thread, as I am sure there are some looking for weight loss support.  Several have started on programs for Spring.

I'll join, but it's more prevention for potential weight gain that some get from Tamox.  I have to be vigilant and nip any gain in the bud.

Meece ~ great to have a separate thread for this!

Yesterday I weighed 149.6# & this morning I was 151.6# How can that be?? I did have a bottle of pop Sat & Sun, which I don't usually do, shame on me!!  :(  I also had some really fresh black jelly beans on both days. I must say I did have some of my DH's great homemade jerky both days & that makes me soooo thirsty & I do think there is some water weight there, but I can't dismiss the sugar from the pop & candy. I have such a sweet tooth!! I actually had not had pop in such a long time, & that A&W was too sweet, but I drank it anyway.  :(

I am 5'5" & I've always weighed myself every morning & I write it down. Before my dx, I was on a low-carb, no-carb diet & at one time I was down to 138#. But, when I slowing started to add carbs back into my diet, I slowly started to gain weight. I was 142# at the time of my dx, Nov 2008. I have went up to 148-149# & seem to stay there. I truly think that gain is due to taking Aromasin & I have tried so hard to lose those dang #'s. It is soooo frustrating!!

I was working out on my NordicTrack Pro Skier, but have slacked off on that big time. I will be gone tomorrow, so I declare, RIGHT HERE & NOW, Wed morning I am back on it & will continue to be.

I LOVE desserts, if I just look at some, I gain 1-2#'s. How awful is that??

This past Saturday, I bought 6 new pairs of capri pants & they are a tiny bit snug, but I will fit into them perfectly. (I was not going to go to a size 10.) I would love to get below 140#, guess I have to work my butt off!! (pun intended)

 Help me ladies!!!

Here! Here! to our determination, as I lift my smoothie made with only fruit & water.

Okay - here goes - I'm about 5' 4" and *gulp* 173.5 lbs!!  I'm 46 (until Wednesday!!).  I have been E(ing)-LAB since I finished rads at the very end of July and have managed to lose 60 lbs since then (yes I know - I was way, way overweight!!). I did the "so you're scared of recurrence" diet!!!

I have a long history of yoyo dieting and this is the lowest weight I've been since a brief success way back in 1998.  I really worry about a) not being able to lose any more weight b) not being able to keep the weight off and c) having to battle se's of meds which usually cause weight gain.  I was premenopausal at dx so I hit chemopause and then tamoxipause so I don't know what affect that could have on my weight.  I would love to get to a normal weight before considering reconstruction surgery.

So any hints and tips on how to keep on losing would be greatly appreciated.

Val - it's common for your weight to fluctuate about 2lbs from day to day. Although I weigh myself daily (I know - it's an obsession) I only log my weight once a week.

I do keep an accurate food diary and having done WeightWatchers on many, many occasions (I think I should Have WW shares - I joined so often!!) I still quantify my food in WW points!!  My only exercise is Wii Fit - I do the free step on that for about 40 to 60 mins daily.

Ok, here we go.  I finish rads on Wednesday and expect to start back to the gym next Monday.  I have gained 17 lbs since finishing chemo in December.  I thought I was really doing well and did manage to maintain my weight during chemo, but when the taste buds started again, I have not been able to say no to anything.

I was already about 16 lbs over when diagnosed, so now I need to lose 33.  uuuggggg!!!!!  I do believe that some of the weight will come off, if I can just control what I put in my mouth.

I am 5'7" and weighed in at the doctors today at 183.

I will also have corned beef and cabbage on March 17.  One of my problems is that everyday at work someone brings something.   It is really hard to diet there.

I have been walking every morning for certainly the last month.

Starting with single walk of 15 minutes. I'm now up to 2 walks of 30 to 35 minutes each!!

And have lost two pounds......

This is since my bilat surgery Jan. 15th.

At the end of last summer's 827 miles of bike riding, I'd gotten myself down to 140 on a consistent basis. That would be awesome.

I'm gonna have 145 be my DO NOT EXCEED number.
