Topic: Trying not to worry

Forum: Waiting for Test Results —

For members not diagnosed with breast cancer, but waiting for test results:  Biopsy, mammogram, ultrasound, or other screening tests. Waiting is VERY difficult but remember...

I had a routine mammogram last week. They want me to go back for spot compression and ultrasound on 9/2 The only thing the report says:
MASSES: There is a new spiculated mass within the right lower breast at approximately the 6 o'clock position, posterior 1/3 of the breast parenchyma.

I looked up spiculated mass and all the sites said it was “Very suspicious for cancer”. One even said 90% chance. I was wondering how many of you got this same report and how many did actually turn out to be cancer. Thank you in advance for your replies.

Indeed, try not to worry. It's really so difficult to say based on this information. One day at a time. We're all here for you, and please keep us all posted. Medicating
