6 months ago, my mamogram was clear. In october, the radiologist wanted more scans. Last tuesday was my diagnostic mammogram and they wanted biopsies. Today I had 2 biopsies on my right breast and found out my mammogram scans were Bi-rads 5.

I googled, and I shouldn't. Category 5 means 95% of malignancy.

I am terrified. Has anyone been a 5, and not be cancer

Well, 5% of people with BIRADS 5 do not have a malignancy.

When do you get your biopsy results?

Hang in there.

Ugh I can see why you'd be concerned with that history. I hope you get your results by end of the week. The waiting really sucks.

hello! I’m so sorry you’re here with worry. There have definitely been posts here with BIRADS 5 being benign. Someone has to make up that 5% right?! Could very well be you :)

Hang in there, the waiting is the ofcourse the hardest.

I have been Birads 4a, which has only a rather small chance of being cancer, yet it was cancer. My suggestion would be to look at the bright side. If you had clear scans 6 months ago, chances are good you caught this early and it is very treatable. If it turns out to be cancer, take some time to make sure you are treated in a major cancer center and/or possibly go for a second opinion.

It is scary, we all have had that waiting time, but I am sure you will get through it! Keep the faith.

Was hoping to get results today, but my primary dr was out of the office today.

The diagnostic mammogram showed several suspicious groupings of pleomorphic calcifications in the inner central breast. They span 3cm transvers, by 4.2 cm AP by 4.4 cm craniocaudal.

It's going to be a long weekend. I hate waiting.

Ah, sorry you are still waiting. Try to keep your mind occupied this weekend. If the weather is good, get outside and enjoy it. And if the weather is not good, maybe it's time to get to those around-the-house tasks that never seem to get done.
