Good morning.

I am 50 years old and I write from Italy.

This forum is very useful to me in these days of waiting.

I thank you and I would like to share these fears of mine with you, if I can.

After a routine mammogram I was found an AD (2 cm).

No match in the US.

I have had a biopsy six days ago and now I am awaiting for the answer.

But what I read online (I know, I shouldn't compulsively google, but I'm a very anxious subject) doesn't reassure me at all.

The surgeon placed the metal clip in the breast during tomosynthesis "so we know where to intervene during the operation".

This sentence destroyed me.

I ask for help.

(sorry for my language mistakes)

Hi Carlina....I'm sorry you're going through this. We've all been there. The waiting is so hard.

I'm pretty sure everyone gets the metal clip if you've had a biopsy. It doesn't necessarily mean cancer. Yes, the clip is put in to find the spot for surgery.....OR....to know where you have had a previous biopsy on a mammogram or ultrasound. You should have an answer very soon. Please let us know what you find out!

Thank you for replying.

So the clip is put on by default, regardless of the surgeon's impression of the lesion?

I am very, very anxious: I am caregiver for more than a few people who totally depend on me, as well as having a 10 year old girl who I grow up by myself alone.

The idea of getting sick terrifies me thinking about them.

Grazie ancora

Yes, that was the way it was explained to me. Even if it is benign, they like to know exactly where they did the biopsy for future reference.

Try to take this step by step. This may not even be cancer. If it IS, you will get a treatment plan and you will get past this! Breast cancer has come a long way. Again, please let us know what you find out!

Thank you, Kathabus.

Today it's one week since my stereotassic biopsy, and I have no news....

Goodmorning everyone.

Thanks for your support and patience; this forum is a real effective support.

I have had the results and there seems to be nothing to worry about at the moment (B2); probably in the next few months the lesion will still be removed as a precaution.

Two weeks after the VABB my breast is still sore and I have a fairly bulky lump at its base.

Is it possible that it is an internal hematoma that has not yet been resorbed? Or what else?

Have you ever heard of similar experiences?

Thanks again for being so supportive.

That's wonderful! It does sound like a hematoma. I had a fairly large one for a while after my biopsy.
