I am not very proud of this pic and wouldn't show it to anyone else but you all.  It was taken 3 weeks after my last round of Taxotere and the day of my BMX & ALND so, as you can see I was looking a bit rough Smile

I wanted to post and show the newbies that it does get better.  I am not the same person I was before BC and it sure wasn't easy.  I have aches, pains and fears, most of the time I take it day by day and sometimes hour by hour.  But I'm getting stronger and better everyday and have lots of hope for OUR future. I'm not a long term survivor yet, I'll only be 2 yrs out in July but I plan on being here for the long haul.  It does get better with each day that passes.

Justkeepswimming, the chemo gets real old, real fast. I was VERY tired by the end of chemo and rads. But I forced myself to get some kind of exercise every day, even if it was just a slow shuffle around the block. After a few months, I felt well enough to get into a gym and that REALLY helped. I started the gym 3 years ago about, and today I am probably in better shape than I have ever been. Do talk to your docs. They can often help with the SEs.

I got my DX the same day we went to a benefit dinner that is held every year around the same time. The picture I posted further up the thread was me (in a blue dress) going to that same dinner exactly a year after DX. Well, we went on the 2nd anniversary of my DX as well, by which time I had pretty much lost the sickly look:

Momine, your new photo is beautiful! Its also hard to imagine pretty again given the scars and hairlessness. I was walking a mile a day up till mother nature dumped tons of snow my way. Thank you for showing me there will be sunshine again.
