Hi all:I would love to hear from anyone out there who was diagnosed stage 3C, with lots of positive nodes (19/22) and who is hormone resistant ie Triple Negative.

We haven't found any stories (yet) of long term survival and my beautiful friend - - who has gorgeous tiny children - - is facing this diagnosis and undergoing chemo right now and desperately needs to hear of survival stories.

I've seen other great stories on here of survivors with lots of nodes but they were hormone positive.   PLEASE share your story or those you know of any who are hormone resistant with lots of nodes too...

Thank you SO much in advance.

Love

Positive ...

I wish I could help, I'm not -, I hope others will come along soon...I know of a couple in here.  I know in the Stage III forum we have a + 5 years topic, you might find someone there.  And the triple negative (TN) forum might have a +5 years topic line you can search in.  I wish your friend all the best with tx, I have small ones myself and it can be tough.  Welcome, this is a great site with lots of support and info so come here often, we been there done that and understand.

I'm not positive about this but I believe Olivia Newton John was triple negative with a ton of positive nodes, all clumped together. And she was treated in the early '90s. And she's fine!

Maybe someone else here can confirm but I remember reading that.

 You're a good friend!

A good friend of mine's mother was diagnosed with triple negative bc around the same time I was diagnosed (February 2008). I know she had positive nodes, but I don't know how many or what stage she is (probably 2 or 3). That was four years ago, and so far she's doing fine.

I met a woman in her 60's at a Gilda's club who is trip neg and has multiple reassurances over the past 25 years, including multiple nodes. She recalls when she was diagnosed it was just called estrogen neg because Her2nu was not a diagnosed thing yet. She was quite uplifting and wonderful to speak to. I put her in touch with a trip neg friend of mine.
Cheers.

I have just recently been moved up to stage 3 based on my pet scan. I was 2.1cm with no positive nodes triple neg. at the time of my surgery. My mri had shown something in the node area, but they just chalked it up to false positive. Surgeon needed to go back in for wider margins, so he dug around a little for that node and found it so he pulled it. That was positive, but it was not a sentinal node. Based on that, he pushed for a pet scan which found auxillary node that was positive. So that's where Im at. Im not any help, but I'm still kicking!

Hi - I am a five year survivor of stage 3 triple negative BC with several positive nodes. Life is good now and I am feeling great. I had a mastectomy, six chemo treatments over 18 weeks followed by 37 radiation treatments. Loving friends and family are what got me through my treatments and recovery. Of course, I had the best medical care from Scripps in La Jolla, CA.

I hope your friend has finished her treatments and is on the road of recovery. The hard part is over. Give her lots of love as support and she will be a survivor, too.

I wish your friend well and will remember her in my prayers.

That's great Stef! Congrats!! It's very encouraging to hear stories like yours. My mum was diagnosed @ the start of this year (although she found her lump over a year ago!) and has just completed her treatment yesterday. She had 14/21 nodes positive & I am so scared that it will reoccur, so it's great to hear that UR treatment worked for u! All the best for the future! BTW.. any tips for mum? Thanx..

P.S Congrats to all the survivors out there & thank you all for giving some hope to those who are currently going through uncertain times.. love & peace to all the sisters out there! Xx

Hi this is basically my Dx in a nutshell and it will be a longer battle and the fact that I'm triple negative doesn't make me a candidate for hormone blocking therapy but it is still very good prognosis once I do chemo, node dissection, double mastectomy, hysterectomy and radiation. I'm only 43 and you just have to look at each step alone or it's overwhelming. I know many 5 year plus survivors and most importantly, this is her journey and friends and attitude will make all the difference. Don't read the medical journals etc while going through it...stick with her/your support group only and trust her/your own journey. Good luck!

hi StefS !

It's so encouraging to hear that you are doing so well. Can I ask what stage/grade you were and what chemo  medication  you received?  Did you get chemo before surgery? Did you have a lumpectomy ?

Thank,

I see this post is old but just curious as to how everyone is doing that is Stage 3c tnbc. Just diagnosed with some slight debate of being stage 4. Just curious on what treatemnts you did? And what you do now to take care of yourself? I just currently completed my 3rd round of AC.l with one more to go. Last year, I did 4 rounds of TC so I won't have that again since it didn't work the first time. Doctors are discussing what treatment I will do in 2 weeks when I return for my last round of AC but I want to hear from you guys to see if there is a consensus of treatment in long term success. Also, just curious on what lifestyle chances you have made
