My mom was diagnosed with DCIS, 10cm mass, and had a masectomy last week. 5 lymph nodes were removed and they came back negative. Now the results are back and it states that she has a 5mm invasive point. Does that mean she'll need chemo? radiation? both? We don't see doctor until June 2nd...and we have no idea what to expect. The anxiety is kicking in for my mom...any ideas or past experiences???

I would think that would NOT indicate chemo, particularly she she had clear lymph nodes.

Probably not radiation either unless she had a dirty margin on her surgery.

At this point she should NOT be anxious.  It's out and was very small with no nodal involvement!
