I'm still under a ton of snow, and it's only 9 degrees today, but I just signed up for our county's Master Gardening program. Now I can't wait to dig in the dirt.

I have little knowledge and hope these classes help. I love flowers and plants but do not have a clue what to do with them. I'd love to hear from others who enjoy this hobby.

Good morning all, and thank you for sharing your Spring colors! I especially enjoyed the cactus flowers. The desert in the Spring is magnificent.

So here are a few from our house. The wisteria is already fading of blooms. The food garden gave us artichokes, salads, strawberries and herbs. The tomato plants and basil are on course with flowers turning into small green tomatoes. The grape vines are nurturing the tiny glusters. The dwarf lemon and nectarine trees are bountiful. A robin zeroed in on the only cherry on the tree and ate it; pruning well this year will help production of more cherries next year.

Our winter to spring was very wet thus producing a lush garden this year. My lavender was dramatic and more to come from the other species. The roses and wisteria were a joy this year. The honeysuckle lored the hummingbirds.

June is coming out hot, very hot. I've already upped the irrigation. Fortunately the shade from the oak trees gives us and the creatures in the garden protection from the sun and heat.

Best wishes to all as always,

Marilyn
