We have plans to fly to AZ in two weeks, and I don't know what to do. I'm almost 2 years out from my BC diagnosis, and so far... so good. Is this considered an "underlying condition" as far as travel and coronavirus, does anyone know???

I am traveling in couple of weeks to the East coast. I feel I if I take extra precaution it will be fine. “underlying condition” pertains to elderly people and anyone with weakened immune system. I don’t think taking Tamoxifen is weakening my immune system as long as I am eating healthy and getting a good sleep.

I REALLY dont know for sure, but I would say no!
IF you are healthy and have no respiratory illness or heart disease etc etc I would not consider TREATED BC from a few yrs back and underlying condition.

I think if you were in the middle of chemo it would be best to stay home. But I doubt your doctor would restrict travel for you.

I have been thinking the same thing. Have travel plans still set for April. Guess like anything else, can only do so much. Wash, wash, wash. Then I'm thinking, the tiny bathroom on the plane may be the worst place to go frequently to during this time. Sure can wash my hands but keep touching the knobs in that flying tin can. I'm thinking antibac wipes.

This was on the coronavirus special "On Assignment With Richard Engel" that aired on MSNBC tonight:

Most will be fine but underlying conditions and age change things, in some cases very dramatically. I'm concerned but not panicked. Best to be vigilant & on top of latest info.

They didn't specify about the cancer, whether it's related to chemo or simply a cancer dx in the present or past.

Still it is listed along with hypertension, diabetes, respiratory and cardiovascular issues as being a pre-existing condition that increases the mortality rate of the virus.
