Hey y'all, I'm an afab non-binary demiboy who got immediate reconstruction and silicone implants after my stage 2 BC bi-lateral mastectomy in 2016. I'm now MBC with multiple mets since this June.
I've only been out as non-binary since this past December and present masculine. I am teetering on whether I'm FtM but that's beside the question. Are they any other masculine people who bind while having implants? I don't want to have them reduced or taken out because of the trauma I went through to get them and I got the safe OK to bind from my plastic surgeon, but I want to know if there are others who've done it to. My binder hasn't arrived yet, but I'm afraid it'll be too much pressure and cause chest problems because the silicone is not very giving.
I guess if I don't get any replies, I'll just have to give it a go and see!

Hi Theo, I don't know the answer to your question but I am rooting for you. Did your PS understand the amount of compression the binder will provide? If yes, and you got the go-ahead, that sounds promising. Let us know how it goes.

Yes, he does, thank you. And I will be vigilant myself in making sure I am safe with the length of compression (I know no more than 8 hours of wear) and how my body is reacting to it.

I had to look this up. O have a few ideas. First my.implants do not have that much projection so if wore a spanks top that had compression my chest would be pretty flat. It would not bother my implants as I have actually worn a compression spanks top and put my bra on the outside to even look like I had breasts.
Also there are probably different tops that minimize the breast appearance through simple wardrobe ideas.
Now having said that it is likely that you could just swap your implants for a more masculine pec shape. M! An y women are having them taken out because of all the recalls so it's pretty common and you could do it in a way that would not make your chest concave.
I have heard the recovery is pretty easy on the body so likely not what you are.imagining.
Also you didn't ask but I would talk to my doctor about testosterone and whether supplementing with that would also help with the BC

Or possibly hurt the BC, as some BCs are AR+ (like mine).
Why did you fight to get implants if you were not comfortable with having breasts?

I got a binder and it has been working great! I do not wish to have my implants taken out as I don’t think I want that permanent option. I also don’t want to go through and have them reduced because I’d like to leave that trauma behind me. As for your question, I cannot take testosterone due to personal issues.

My binder has been working great and I’ve been very happy with my decision. However, to answer your question...When I had stage 2 and opted for immediate reconstruction, I did not identify as non-binary or even demiboy (now transmasculine) at that time so I did not know that this would be an issue for me. I was very comfortable with my breasts, but my implants make me mourn my natural breasts. I do not hate my implants, I just like that my binder alters my appearance. It’s extremely complicated, but I’m fairly happy with myself now.
