I've been on Arimidex for 2 1/2 years now. My Cholesterol is high. Have any of you experienced this with Arimidex? If so, were you able to lower it with diet?

Do you take fish or krill oil supplement? My doctor has me doing that for cholesterol slightly high.

Diet and exercise definitely brought my cholesterol down but it did not help my mother. She has to take medication to lower hers.

My heart dr does not want me on a statin yet says my ratio is ok. But its scary. I just started taking coq 10

And exersizing more but between the high cholesterol and my vergiing osteoporosis because of the lack of estrogen(arimidex).. its disheartening

This is a known class effect. I did not mind taking a statin, hoping to take advantage of the presumed anti-inflammatory action however required 200mg of coenzyme Q daily to keep muscle aches at bay.

I also began a more vigorous exercise routine and took fish oil but family history/genetic tendency meant those efforts were insufficient to reach numerical goals. Diet had been modified previously...
