I'm trying to stick this out. I really am. But my legs, ankles and feet hurt frequently, if a bend over for a few minutes and then try to straighten back up it feels as if I had been bending over for hours, and I'm limping today due to a sore hip and can barely lift my leg when sitting because I sat with my legs crossed yesterday. What helps? Any suggestions are appreciated.

WC3 How long have you been on the AI? I started Anastrazole in March 21 and the my knees got stiff after about a week. I then tried glucosamine tablets and I thought I had a slight improvement in my knees after a few days but it was short lived. It's as if my whole body creaked when I stood up after sitting for a while. I stuck it out for 6 months and when I met the oncologist earlier this month she gave me the options of switching AI or going on Tamoxifen.

I took tamoxifen before and had no problems on it but I was younger then so I decided to try another AI instead. She told me to stay off the Anastrazole for 4-6 weeks to wash it out of my system and it's been 3.5 weeks and I'm staring to see an improvement in my joints. I added a magnesium supplement this week so maybe that's what's helping.

I'm going to start Aromosin next week and hopefully I can tolerate it but if not Tamoxifen is always there as a backup option.

I've been on anastrazole for almost a year now but these past few months I have really been feeling it. I'm also on lupron, which I think might be a contributing factor. I switched to AIs from Tamoxifen and would not be able to go back on it unless I had a hysterectomy. I'll talk with my MO about some alternatives at my follow up and look in to the magnesium.
