Anyone use baths with Epsom Salts? I am now starting to read how Calcium supplementation should be balanced with magnesium. I have a box of salts, and supposedly you can absorb through a bath. I don't know what, if any, benefit it would have with breast cancer, but I suppose it couldn't hurt.

Any thoughts, ideas?

Epsom salt baths are very beneficial. I take Epson salt baths 3-4 times a week. It is not only good for Magnesium, it also helps with detoxification because of the sulfates. Since soaking in EPsom Salt tends to have a sedative effect- I suggest doing it before bedtime, rather than in the morning.

I've used epsom salts in my bath for over a decade now.  It started out as a 'me time' way to pamper myself.  I have a much greater appreciation for the benefits nowadays.

Using epsom salts in bathwater is most likely to aid in detoxification.  Bath water is usually warm to hot, which makes skin more likely to sweat than to absorb.

For supplementing, I prefer magnesium applied topically.  I use Ancient Mineral magnesium 'oil'.  I don't know why it's called oil instead of spray because it's not oily at all.  Magnesium comes in many forms and often is poorly absorbed.  I forget which ones absorb the least.   I try to get 400 mg per day.

Marianna -- Love my epsom salts baths... 1 cup to every 60 pounds of body weight... and then some days I add a little more.  I recommend these to all my friends, especially if they are suffering from migraines or allergies.

Althea -- I use the Ancient Minerals magnesium spray too.  It's great on those sore muscles.

I have fibromyalgia, along with the joint aches and pains from Femara.  I find the Espom salt baths very relaxing and soothing,  I try to take a warm/hot bath with Epsom salts 3 - 4 x/week.  Dead Sea salts are good too. As Beth mentions, bedtime is best for Epsom salt baths.

I just never seem to have the time to take a bath... although I did get one in the past week.  I've found a quick way to get the minerals on.... after my shower, while i'm still wet, I'll put almond oil, then epsom salts on my arms legs, chest, and back.  It is great for my skin.
