Forum: Stage IV/Metastatic Breast Cancer ONLY —

Metastatic breast cancer (MBC; also called stage IV) is breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, most commonly the bones, liver, brain, or lungs. Metastatic breast cancer can be treated but not cured. Metastatic disease is NOT hopeless. There are a wide variety of treatment options for metastatic breast cancer, and new medicines are being tested every day. More and more people are living life to the fullest while being treated for metastatic breast cancer.

I have scan results this morning and I'm feeling quite anxious. I've been on a chemo break since May 23rd as everything has been stable. I've enjoyed the break but the threat of progression has not been far behind every moment of summer's retreat. If there is progression then I'll start chemo today (they RSVP'ed me a seat just in case). Either way, I'll be ready emotionally I think. Prayers needed this morning. I'll come back and let you know the results this afternoon or tonight. God is able, Stephanie
