Well,my mom is still taking Arimidex so far so good . She is also taking Morphine for the pain which is helping her a lot. She will also start radiation next week.

She is very angry with her condition. I was also for a while. Now, I just sad for her and fear someday it could be me.

Mary I just want to encourage you in this hard time. I went back and read some of your posts and see that your Mom has been having trouble with pain and it sounds like the morphine has been helping. I've heard that radiation can help pain too and I think I've heard it helps pretty quickly. Maybe others with more experience with radiation for pain will post.

As for your fears about your own future health - I will pray that you find a measure of peace about this. Maybe seeing a dr and discussing this would help. Please keep posting so we can hear from you, pray for you and so you'll know you have some support here from others who understand what you are going through!

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, my next obgyn check up is coming up soon. I will discuss with my dr. all of my concern and will request a mammogram. I did one last year at the age of 37. And all was well. However, I know how things can change in just one year.

I have had excellant results with radiation on spine, skull and rib mets. Most recently with the rib. Within just a few treatments (had 15) I noticed a big difference in pain level. I wish the same for your mom.

I have a 26 year old daughter who recently had a lump. I found a breast specialist who performed a lumpectomy and everything was fine....b9!!!! But my point is, perhaps you can find a breast specialist to see. This breast specialist will follow my daughter from here on because of my history. Actually, my niece also sees her. I feel so much better knowing that someone who really knows about breast cancer will be checking my girls' breasts.

I am so sorry your mom is having such a difficult time. I see a therapist on a regular basis....just to keep a pulse on all the emotions and mental junk that comes with having breast cancer and being Stage IV. Maybe your mom would benefit from talking to someone. Or maybe she could come here and see so many of us LIVING with advanced bc. You are a wonderful help and support for your mom. I know she is proud of you.....I am!

Sending you prayers, healing and positive thoughts,
