Hello all! It's been a very long time since I've posted, I finally got the nerve 2 weeks ago to get my first tattoo, roses across my chest covering my scars.

I had a lot of scars because 10 years before my diagnosis I also had a breast reduction, so my chest was literally full of scars. I want to report that the pain was much less than I expected! I think this is due to nerves cut in this area, I mean I could still feel it believe me, but my artist kept saying he was amazed at my pain tolerance, I only take part credit for that.

I also want to ask a question to anyone who has went through this, I now have a swollen lymph node in my neck, I feel perfectly fine, I have no infection or fever or symptoms of any kind, and this happened after my tattoo, I googled it and it's seems normal. Anyone else experienced this? When does it go away? Thanks!

i agree with edj3, beautiful! I thought i might do this too and you might just have inspired me šŸ˜Š as for the lymph node, i think they can become enlarged for lots of reasons, but i am of the mind to get it checked out if it sticks around for more than a week or so with a bc history.

What edj3 said....you and your tattoos are lovely!

I was curious if you had any fat-pad left/recon? or are you totally flat. Your picture looks like you are not flat. I'm slightly concave and wonder how that would look.

Thank you for sharing and honestly, it is beautiful!! Congrats and kudos to your artist too!!

Thanks everyone, you're very kind :-) I am flat, I have not had any reconstruction, the faux cleavage is the result of doctors thinking they know better than I know, and leaving a little extra there " in case I change my mind"...very common, sadly. My left side is slightly concave, but you really can't tell that either, a good tattoo can hide a bit :-) Pick a design you like and go for it!

- also still waiting to see if anyone else has experienced the lymph node issue after tattoos..

Thanks Wallycat, I think I read that one, but I still have memory issues so I just re-read it again :-) I think I will email my doctor anyway and ask for blood tests, I don't want to overreact because the timing of it is just right after the tattoo, and I feel so healthyso it just makes sense that it's ink related. Thank you so much !

Follow up is always better than stewing and worrying and NO doctor has ever regretted telling a patient it is nothing.

Please report back and let us know how it went.

Exquisite! I hope the lymph node is just the body adjusting to the tattoo, and nothing serious. I'm so glad you're happy with your art.

thanks everyone, I went to see my oncologist today, she ordered some bloodwork (all looks fine) she ordered a CT of my neck for tomorrow and says results probably not until Monday. I will keep you all posted. I really hope I can come back and say it's just tattoo related, and this can be a resource for others in the future that way too :) sleep well
