Forum: Not Diagnosed But Worried —

Breast cancer symptoms vary widely. According to the American Cancer Society, in addition to a lump, breast cancer symptoms can include swelling, skin irritation, dimpling, breast pain, changes to the nipple, thickening of the breast skin, or unusual nipple discharge. Still, some breast cancers cause no symptoms at all. Note: Please do not post pictures of your symptoms. It's important to have anything unusual checked by your doctor

Hi

I noticed a red area at edge of areola of my left breast at 3"0 clock position about a size of 1 cm and palpable lump below. It was 14 th april. My GP put me on antibiotics, got an ultrasound , it said it looks like an abscess or haematoma but underlying neoplasm could not entirely excluded.

Radiologist advised repeat USG after 1 month, and by this time suggest needle aspiration. Took antibiotics for 7 days, redness gone ,size of lump become half, some blood oozes out from the skin overlying lump, feel better.

But from the past 4/ 5 days I am having pain whole of my breast , left arm, the lump feels same ,breast looks bruised , went to GP asked for a referral to breast specialist, got denied and put me on same antibiotics again . he had no idea what I am going through and has no plan.

I am 49, had hysterectomy 4yrs back .so ladies do u think my symptoms look like I IBC?

Thanks

Sorry that you are going through this, and we understand how anxiety-provoking such symptoms can be. We really cannot make diagnoses here on the boards. We really think that the best thing is for you to make another attempt, maybe through a gynecologist, to get to a breast surgeon who could examine this.

We're thinking of you!
