I like to think I'm the kind of person that doesn't worry to much about things beyond my control... my mother has always had a lot of health issues and I always repeat" don't worry, don't put the added stress on yourself"  and here I am waiting and worrying.

on 5/29/18 I went for a  3D mammogram screening and received the call back, they scheduled me for the next day to come in, but my doctors office was closed and they could not get the referral letter and rescheduled me for 6/7, so I impatiently waited the weekend and now I only have one more day to go, but it is driving me nuts.

44 year female   my report reads that I have heterogeneously dense breast

under findings: the left cc view there is a rounded asymmetry with associated architectural distortion in the posterior left breast. it is suspected that this corresponds to an area of asymmetry at approximately the 3 o'clock position. recommend spot compression tomographic images and ultrasound is necessary. no other suspicious mass or microcalcification are identified in either breast.

I'm a little nervous because I have a pretty good sized indentation (about the size of a half dollar now) that appears when I raise or move my arm in a forward motion. I didn't mention the indent to my new doc or mammo tech because I was told by family doc once it looked like it could be cellulite, so I figured since I'm older and have a couple pounds on me since then that that is the reason why it looks bigger because I am... but now I'm starting to think the indent has something to do with this architectural distortion... am I just reading to much google... should I be a little nervous...am I crazy.... arrrr. I guess I need reassurance, I know the chances of BC are slim so why these emotions? Anyway, I guess I just needed to tell someone

thanks for letting me share.

Does the indentation correspond in location to the finding on the mammogram?

Hi there. Yep, the waiting is definitely the most annoying part! It's an emergency to us but not to the doctors since breast cancer, which you may not even have, is generally slow growing. It can take a week or more to get your biopsy results so try to keep busy with other things in the meantime.

Your emotions are totally normal and I hope you'll come back to check in with us.

I’m in the same boat kangcongrl. Waiting. Worrying.

I found a lump on my right breast while in the shower. I had a mammogram and ultrasound done Friday and my results are that deep within the right breast at 12 o’clock there is Ann irregular hypoechoic solid mass, at least 4.1 x 1.7 cm. There are multiple pleomorphic type calcifications. Findings are highly suspicious for breast neoplasm. BI-RADS 5.

I have a biopsy on the 14th (a whole week)! Freaking out while trying to “stay positive”....

Trying to stay busy. My kids, 8 and 11, make it easier.

When is your biopsy scheduled? Keep us posted!

KWilli I wish I knew the right words to say... i have spent the last few days feeling down but realized this morning that all this worrying is doing more harm than good, so I really enjoyed having my mind back and focused on other things today!

Sorry to hear your playing the waiting game also, those young ones at home will definitely help keep your mind off the wait.

Won't be scheduled until Monday because the person in charge of that is on vacation....hopefully they can get me in sometime next week.

Hoping for the best...For both of us!...for all of us!!

It has taken what seems like forever for the docs to get paperwork to the right people, but finally this morning I got a date, the 21st...Sucks, but waited this long so what is another 9 days!  I get a little emotional the more I have to wait, but I truly feel that everything is going to be normal... I don't have that horrible feeling that something is wrong... so i'm continuing with my normal routine with a couple extra glasses of wine thrown in there until the 21st!

KWilli, just a couple more days for you! how are you doing?

The closer I get, the more nervous I am getting. I have that sinking feeling, the “knowing”. It’s 5% I’m hoping for. It’s more like I’m just going to find out what kind and what stage....

shellshell69; I truly hope you receive b9 results. Waiting sucks for all of us. Thank you for your support, it's awesome. Fingers crossed for you!

Today I am spending my time outside on a farm with my son and his Grade1/2 class. It's going to amazing! Waiting is less painful when you have the company of a bunch of 6 & 7 year olds!

hi everyone - on medical leave (bmx 6 wks ago) and have lots of time in my hands so just perusing the boards and saw the thread here.

I know that waiting is so very hard, but pls try to stay positive! There’s no good that comes from worrying yourself sick over things that are out of your control. Just know that even if your results come back positive, breast cancer is very treatable and in most cases, is caught early so keep that in mind. In most cases though, biopsies come back negative...so I’m hoping and praying for that for all of you!

Go out there and enjoy today! :)

Got appointment yesterday for my biopsy with the radiologist who did diagnostic mammography and US... he seemed pretty adamant he should be one to perform biopsy, but this morning my doc office called me and said that they highly advise that I go to the breast center and that my doc knows I already made appt with radiologist but wanted to tell me again to go to breast center... so this call has put a little more fear into me.

I called breast center and am going tomorrow to get a second opinion I guess, figured I would keep my biopsy appt but getting another set of eyes on it cant hurt.

Kwilli, how did biopsy go?

I had a horrible day... went to breast surgeon and he confirmed that things aren't looking so good and I had the right to feel worried, he said I should have stereotactic biopsy and that he could do it tomorrow. I was feeling nervous but happy that he could get to it right away... but then 45 minutes later they called and come to find out they are not in network with my insurance...REALLY

What a roller coaster, now I'm debating on going through this again with another doc that is actually in network or just let the radiologist do it. Arrrrrrr

Kangcongrl; I’m sorry to hear your frustrations with doctor issues. I’m in Canada and unfamiliar with your health care system but I think nonomimi5 has given you some good guidance.

Biopsy was alright; they took 6-7 samples as the first few weren’t great. I have “extremely dense breast tissue”. The doc said it’s more than likely that I’m going to need surgery. There was only one very borderline lymph node, in really deep; he said he didn’t feel it wasn’t important enough to go after it. I read a post by DJMammo about lymph nodes (cortical thickness measurements) and the ultrasound report. I’m going to review mine to make sure I have the information.

My next appointment is with a surgeon, to review biopsy results and next steps. Guess I am part of the club no one really wants to be in :(

Thank you for your support everyone.
