Welp, I took a little ride down to the next county for a walk in the state park down there. I know you all have seen the pickup trucks with the big "tRump" flags in the back. This one shocked me. The flag said: "F**K BIDEN" And all the letters were there. Out in public for all to see, including little children. Now, I'll drop an F bomb every other minute, but to see it waving around on a flag was just too much for me. The hatred that is out there is just horrifying. It is hard to not lose faith in our fellow Americans.

Small nitpick here: the varicella (chicken pox) vaccine was developed in Japan by Michiyaki Takahashi. Jonas Salk developed the injectable polio vaccine. A few years later, Alfred Sabin developed the oral version (given by dripping on to a sugar cube). They were actually referred to by the names of those scientists--especially when debates arose as to which was more effective. (We got both). But one thing nobody called them? The "Eisenhower vaccine."
Bob read an article in TIME today positing that in the event nobody has been inaugurated by noon on 1/20/21, our President will be...drum roll...Nancy Pelosi (or whoever defeats her as Speaker). She could then pick Biden as VP and immediately resign--and then he'd pick Harris all over again.

glennie, that is so sad that Trumper have to wave expletive-undeleted flags out in public for all to see. How does that make America great? And what is with people not able to move forward from the election?
Sandy, I appreciate the the clarification on vaccines! I was all jumbled up, and as it turns out, I realize what I really meant to refer to was the small pox vaccine. I looked it up and it was developed by Edward Jenner. I'm sure many of us of a certain age have a small scar on the upper arm from getting the injectable vaccine when we were young. I also sort of vaguely remember taking that sugar cube polio vaccine—which trivia time, is where the idea for the song “Just a Spoonful of Sugar” originated. I have a tiny scar on my forehead from having chicken pox as a kid. The chicken pox vaccine was a newer one that became available in the 1990s when my son was little. It makes sense that medical personnel would refer to the different vaccines by inventor name, but most moms mention them using the disease name or use the MMR acronym for measles mumps and rubella vaccine.

Another day of discord while we await GSA, a lot of Congress and whatever others who I hope will start to bring pressure to bear. It is amazing that Trump and minions have even attempted a lot of what is going on. It did seem early on ( while some doubts and fears lingered ) that there actually might be some chance. I no longer think that, but I do believe some dents are deeper than I would like. Trump has stirred and I think un-leased a lot of un-stable individuals. Some will actually know better -- but I do worry about those swearing un-dying allegiance.
Interesting that so many would look at things as though they were not yet over. So, they apparently are still sending in funds not concerned that the money won't even come close to doing what they are hoping for.
I can't imagine walking around the WH as Trump the loser. I imagine things like -- does he feel alien now and let down. He will be looking for the person who is to blame for this loss, because horror or horrors -- Trump himself is so perfect he is incapable of that. Well he has fired a few but there is lots of time to dump others. I think first to go should be the idiot lawyers who actually don't seem to be doing much good. They are keeping his name out there but not in too good a way as his lawsuit losses, misses from dropping the suit, all point to a person who lost -- not won. Why would you want to keep that ( loser ) so uppermost. Perhaps it is all a part of his having been robbed fraudulently of the election.
There seem to be as well a host of numbers ( like the number of people on the popular vote ) that the other side just ignores as though it doesn't exist. Like the number of electoral votes ( 306 ) that belong to Biden.
Trump makes little, if any, attempt at presidential behaviors and work he should be doing. Well, that was not a true surprise. He was a sham from the start. Now it is just completely evident that he was the host of the Apprentice President, and never the real thing at all. Never in his whole life has he been THE real thing.
Makes the longing for Biden all the more -- we need it, we want it, and it is hard to wait now that we have it.

Love the memes and the one on the chicken meal and the one on the library are really funny.
As a Pennsylvanian we are used to Toomey's dogged support of all things drumpf and repugnican, so for him to say that drumpf needs to call it quits and to congratulate Biden and Harris is mindblowing. We have had to endure his pigheadness for far too long and for the only time in his long reign, I agree with his decision.
