Just wanted to say hello, i was 7 years clear and wham - MRI revealed IDC in my lumpectomy site. It is all very early and i have a lot to learn, but a BMX is in my near future. I have extremely dense breasts. I regret not pushing for more MRIs. My mammos and US were always clear, but I'm kicking myself. Sending all my love to you all. This site is a godsend.

Ah, sorry to see you back - or at least, back for the reason you are back.
Did you have rads with your DCIS diagnosis? And since the DCIS was ER+, did you take Tamoxifen or an AI?
I hope that this recurrence is small and easily treatable. That said, I completely understand your plans for a BMX now. Are you thinking about reconstruction or will you more likely go flat?

Hi Beesie -
Thank you, I did have radiation, yes. i took tamox for 2 years but didn't tolerate it very well so i stopped, with my doctors' ok. My surgeon thinks it is small and early. But because of the previous radiation and the extreme density, they're recommending a BMX. Very nervous.
Thanks !

Elsa - so sorry you had to hear that news. We all hope once we've made it through one BC it doesn't rear its ugly head again.
I have not had any more cancer found but I'm similar in having very dense small breasts. If it were to happen to me, I'd most likely be in the same boat as you.
