what is next if anything
Hello, i am taking aledronate 70mg/once a week for osteopenia since 2018.
I am 65 years old.
And i am taking exemestane after breast cancer lumpectomy since 4/2020.
Hopefully will be done with it in 4/2025.
My bone density test is showing some worsening since last time i had test 2 years ago.
But it still says "osteopenia".
Should i see any other doctor regarding this, not just my oncologist who ordered the test.
I would not want more strong medicine for bone density loss if possible. But would like to know what they will suggest for me to do next(according to your experiences).
I am thinking also that may be if i stop in 4/2025 exemestane, I might have some improvement or at least not worsening bone density loss.
And also I heard that infusions, if you start them, you can not stop anymore.
and it is very bad for your teeth. Please let me know about those issues. thank you

I am 59 and am taking anastrozole and have osteopenia. My MO has me doing Zometa (zoledronic acid) infusions, but I am only doing 6-one every 6 months for 3 years, then I will stop. I don't know what your doctor will recommend for you, but depending on the drug, it's not true that you cannot stop infusions once you start.

I have osteopena in my lower back. I get a prolia shot every 6 months. I end taking Arimidex in December after 10 years, so I will get my last prolia shot next July along with a deca scan to see if several months with no AI and builds my lower back bones back up.
If you have osteopena it's good to get added meds to keep it from becoming osteoporosis. I also looked up which exercises help build bone mass in the lower back. So I'm getting on the elliptical for 45 min 3x a week and doing a back machine, 15 reps x 2. I'll be interested to see how my bones do with all of the above.
