Recent diagnosis

I was diagnosed with grade 3 DCIS, hormone positive HER2 negative at the start of January. After an MRI another tumour was found. I have an appointment this Tuesday to hopefully have the results of the most recent biopsy. Every time I have met with the consultant I feel like things become more complicated. Hoping this time it is more straightforward, and I get a date for surgery.
I have been told at this point I will have surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and hormones therapy which was a lot to take in.
I am 42 with 2 young children. I live on my own, although have been offered support from my ex with our children, worried about the financial impact of being off work and what challenges the treatment will bring.

Oh @noname1982 we're really sorry you find yourself here, but yes, things will get easier when you have a plan in place. It's a lot to take in and learn in a short time. You're not alone here.

We also offer professionally moderated free Zoom Support Groups for those who’re undergoing or have recently completed treatment, those who have metastatic breast cancer, as well as a support group for caregivers of someone with metastatic breast cancer. So, take a look if you think this could be helpful.

Please let us know if you need any specific advice or guidance, or just need an ear to listen!
