Cancer subtype switch
Hello all - I was diagnosed with stage II triple positive breast cancer in 2020. Had lumpectomy, chemo TCHP and 11 additional rounds of HP and 33 rounds of radiation. In 2022, had a prophylactic hysterectomy. In 2024, cancer came back as hormone negative and her2 positive. This time it had spread to one spot in the liver. Was on THP. Liver resolved but breast still had one spot growing. Had a mastectomy earlier this month and surgical pathology is pointing to possibly a triple negative this time. Waiting for FISH testing and other results to confirm before we get a treatment plan. Has anyone been or know anyone who has been in this situation. This presents a dilemma as whether to keep treating her2 stage iv and/or move to tnbc which is not stage iv but stage I as tumor was 1.5 cm.
My oncologist will be consulting with the tumor board as well but would like to know any thoughts. I am so exhausted already with all the treatments and was getting comfortable with HP. Now there are talks of possibly getting the AC!
Any input will help. Thanks!
