Possibly second diagnosis

I haven't been on this page for quite a few years now. I had to walk away for a while for my mental health from all things breast cancer and pink. I am 14 years out from my 1st diagnosis of stage IIB ILC. I recently had some swelling and discomfort in the axillary area of the affected side (I am post bilateral mastectomy). Tests showed two small masses and one enlarged lymph node. My primary care physician made contact with my oncologist from the first time and she ended up ordering another scan and a biopsy (Jan 5th) and then an appointment with oncologist to go over the results on the 15th.

I was 37 when initially diagnosed and we had two teenagers. Now I am 50 and husband is 55 and we adopted our granddaughter so we now have an 8 year old.

I am so nervous while I wait for the final scan and biopsy results. I think I am more stressed now than I was when I waited for the first round of results. I guess because after going through all of this once, we know what the outcome can mean so much more.

Hi Debbie, of course you're nervous and apprehensive, and you have every right. I'm sorry to learn of the recent observations which brought you here after 14 years.

Lymph nodes can be enlarged for many reasons, as can the swelling and discomfort. Hoping your issues end up benign. Please let us know how your testing goes as there's lots of support and experience here. Gentle hugs.

I'm sorry you are going through this. It's definitely scary. Hopefully it is nothing!

I'm also feeling scared right now. A couple months ago I developed a dry cough. I had a CT for it last week which showed a concerning nodule in my lung. I am only 1 year post chemo, and rads, on meds to try and prevent recurrence.

I am seeing a pulmonologist on the 5th. I hope we both get good news at our appointments! I'm thinking good thoughts for us both.
