Newly Diagnosed Member

Hi,

I was diagnosed last month and have my surgery consult tomorrow. Over the past few days, I've doing a podcast deep dive and am greatly appreciative for the podcasts that I listed to from this website. What a great wealth of information!

I'm happy to join your community here! (Well, not happy to have cancer but happy to find a community to join.)

Thank you!

@oldlabtech - Hi, and welcome to BCO! We’re sorry for your new diagnosis, but we're really glad you’ve joined us.

Those first weeks after a diagnosis can feel like a rush of appointments and information. It’s great to hear the podcasts have already been a helpful companion in that. If you are still on time before your appointment, this article might also be useful as a quick guide to help you feel more prepared: “Questions to ask your surgeon.” Having a short list can sometimes help you feel more grounded going into the consultation, especially when there’s a lot to take in.

You’ve joined a supportive community here, and you’re welcome to ask questions, share updates, or just check in whenever you need to. And if you feel up to it afterward, we’d be glad to hear how your consult goes tomorrow. We're here for you!

    Sincerely,

    The Mods

    Hi @oldlabtech

    Welcome to the forum.

I hope your surgery consult yesterday went well and you now have the start of a plan. Sometimes things start to feel a bit better once a plan is in place.

Please continue to reach out to the community with your questions and tell us more about your dx so we can offer better advice.

    Take Care.
