Newly diagnosed - need advice

Hello community,

I am sorry we are all here for similar reasons. I wish you all a full recovery and a long, amazing life.

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have an appointment with the oncologist early next week, I don’t have any details (type of cancer, stage, etc.)

In preparation for this appointment, I am seeking any advice you may have. I am having trouble focusing and reading through such a vast amount of information. I am scared, but don’t want to miss asking important questions or preparing as much as possible before I begin this journey.

Thank you in advance.

@zendyone - Very sorry that you have to join us, but welcome. You will find a lot of info here on this site. Probably the best and most helpful thing here are the personal experiences that others have gone through and shared. Once you get more information about the characteristics your breast cancer has, and get a treatment plan in place, things will calm down a lot, and you will be able to breathe easier.

Write down all of your questions, and take them with you to your oncologist appointment. Don't be afraid to ask him or her about your questions. Again, once you know more, you might be able to get more specific about what questions you have, and that will quell some of the overwhelm. Take things one day at a time, pace yourself, and don't hesitate to post any questions or concerns on this site, as there is usually someone who can chime in and offer assistance re your specific situation.

Wishing you nothing but the best of luck, as you start treatment! Take care.
