just wanted to give an update for those of you starting this journey.
Had a mastectomy with direct to implant . And sentinel node bx last Thursday. This was for DCIS grade 3. Stage 0. This is my second go round with this. Had the other side done 6 years ago for same . Pleased with the direct to implant. Thankful I didn’t have to go the expander route. Pain has been very tolerable with Tylenol. Just occasional burning type pain, mostly from the lymph node bx. Drain is the most annoying part. Hopefully that comes out this Friday ( fingers crossed). It’s draining about 25cc of light pink/ yellow series type drainage. Just an inconvenience.
waiting on path report from breast tissue and sentinel node. Praying there was no “ hidden” aggressive cancer or spread to node. Only question I have that maybe someone could chime in with… how long from surgery did it take for your path results in a case similar to mine? And what was the outcome.
Hope all of my fellow warriors are doing well. It’s a club no one wants to belong to… but I’m glad I have found such a wonderful group of ladies 🥰

I've been told to expect the pathology report to take at least 2 weeks, possibly 2-4 weeks.
Did you have an ultrasound exam before surgery? I continue to be impressed by the doctors who have conducted ultrasound exams on me over the past 18 years. They have never been wrong in their diagnosis. If they said the lymph nodes looked fine, they turned out to be fine/cancer-free in the pathology report. If they said the lymph nodes looked cancerous - they were correct about that as well.

update… pathology came back . No invasive cancer. Only DCIS And sentinel node is benign . One happy girl here 😊
