Hi All - I got great news today pathology report is back today. Clear margins, none of the lymph nodes were cancerous, none of the lymph nodes leading anywhere were cancerous, additional skin that was taken and biopsied was not cancerous!!! Because there were multiple sites I am diagnosed as Stage II. I am overjoyed with the news. See the PS Wednesday and the oncologist next Tuesday.
Buddy I'm so sorry that you cannot get in to see the doctor's sooner. I hope that you can get some answers.
Hope everyone has a great evening.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CAROLYN! And congrats on your F-A-B PATH REPORT!

0 -
Carolyn......wow !!!! So glad that all should go well with you now. Still I know it's hard to wait until you finally get your path report but what a great report.
Buddy....I'm with you - nothing anywhere should be oozing -- something going on if that is happening. I also think that is a mighty long wait if you ask me -- nearly two months. If they wait much longer they must be hoping it will get better on its own. Do they have you down to call in case of a cancellation.
Anyway.....hope things get better for you soon.
Major hugs, Jackie

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's WENDREW!
Susan - The b-day party sounded fun!
Donna - Are you feeling better? Thank you AGAIN for the bath gel. I LOVE IT!
Elf - I will PM you... it's VERY important that you get on top of your LE, now. You can possibly avoid a huge nightmare with it. I will PM you with the names of certified LE therapists in your area.
Connie - You are in VEGAS...you go girl! I hope you come back rich! lol My swelling is down, but it's not gone. It will take months of PT and compression wrapping, etc.
Irene - Hope your neck and shoulder is better. Hang in there!
blackjack - How are you feeling today?
Mich101 - How is the dizziness? Have you met with an E-N-T?
Navy - So glad you wore the hat! You deserve the recognition!
BUDDER - I called you - and the reason I did was to emphasize how important it is that you get to the ER - STAT! Your hand is screaming for help. Hugs to you Budder...I will call you tomorrow morning. Good luck with your sleep test tonight.
--------------------------------------------------------
Had PT again this morning...gawd...I am really trying to stay one step ahead of this beast...it's hard work and it is painful. But what choice do I have? The swelling in my arm is down, but my hand and thumb is swollen and very painful. THIS SUCKS! Okay...there I said it! lol I am ready for a hot bath and my jammies. Oh and btw...last Friday when I visited my volunteer case...I pulled out of their driveway and didn't see a HUGE boulder there and drove right over it! It was stuck under the side of my SUV. I got an estimate for the damage today - $1700! I am so pissed at myself! Arghhhhh.....I have a $500 deductible! Yikes...
Hugs to ALL OF YOU IL GIRLS!

Good morning all. The sleep study was not so sleepful...I kept pulling wires off and they would have to come in and reattach. I think my hand is better welling has gone down some. Nurses think its skin related sine aI have a few spots on my other hand too. Good news I called my Insurance to verify the RA was in my network. Turns out there is another one on the list, He was just added so he isnt too busy yet. I was able to get in May 18. Which is still 6 weeks better than the other Doc. There are only 3 RA's in my HMO area. I really dont think its sporatic artheritis, but it does need to be ruled out.
I hope everyone has a grat day.
I hear on the news that we are expecting a Frost tomorrow night, so make sure you cover anything delicate. I may throw a sheet over our Pair tree.
Love Bud

Oh Buddy, I am so glad that you're getting into a doctor sooner than was expected. That looks simply miserable! Ouch!
YEA CAROLYN! Such good news!
Thinking of you Connie as you enjoy one of my favorite of all places..........and hoping that you're having fun and winning big!
Well, Mary Jane and I played all day yesterday. When we do a shopping trip, we put new meaning into "Shop til you drop!" I left the house at 7:30 in the morning and didn't get home until about 9:30 last night so I have lots to get done today. We did have lots of fun, though and did find lots of bargains!
I'm off to get busy!
Catch you all later.

May you listen to your longing to be free.
May the frames of your belonging be large enough for the dreams of your soul.
May you arise each day with a voice of blessing whispering in your heart
...something good is going to happen to you.
May you find harmony between your soul and your life.
May the mansion of your soul never become a haunted place.
May you know the eternal longing that lies at the heart of time.
May there be kindness in your gaze when you look within.
May you never place walls between the light and yourself.
May you be set free from the prisons of guilt, fear, disappointment and despair.
May you allow the wild beauty of the invisible world to gather you,
mind you, and embrace you in belonging.
- John O'Donahoe0 -
Good morning. I found a rather long quote and fell in love with it enough that I had to share it. I hope every one has a fantastic day. Sounds like you and Mary Jane had a fabulous time of it yesterday Rita.
Boring here today as its gray and no need to repeat what I think of too many gray days in a row. I'll be checking back later. See you all then.
Hugs, Jackie

Good morning.. Haven't been posting much as the tx SE's are finally catching up with me a bit.. Went for another opinion last Thurs... great way to spend my 40th..
but they all agreed (and there were two Oncs) that this is the best first point of attack... They gave me 17 supplement suggestions so I am weeding through and taking what I need to manage my neuropathy for now.. I am getting my CT's tomorrow morning and will know tomorrow.. of course I am freaking out..even though I KNOW there has been some good progress... Please think positive thoughts for me.. Tomorrow I get my third tx of the cycle in the afternoon too and then I get a week off so that will be nice... Hope everyone gets to enjoy the sunny day.. I hear warm weather is coming soon...
Marina

Marina-- sorry you are struggling with those old se's once more. Great though that you are and have been on the right track. As well, that you got lots and lots of ideas for taking care of the neuropathy. This is a hard road to walk so often, but they are proved methods and that is what counts.
I will be thinking positive tomorrow and hoping with all my heat for well diminished spots....if not a few completely missing now. Also, let me be the first yay to the week off for you.
Hugs, Jackide

Elf song you are so precious. I just adore you.
Great news. I called the new RA Doc again confirming when I had my appoinment because I already had forgotten and I didnt write it down. I asked again to be called of tehre was a cancellation because I cant wear my comkpression garment. They just called and said there was a cancellation May 6. Who in the world would cancell their appointment. I cant imagine. anyway, I still dont think I have it but I am anxious to rule it out. Now to try and get the referral..Hmmm.
0 -
Carolyn, I too am so happy your news is coming in with such hopefulness. You have been through a great deal.
Elf, I think you need to show us your shoes. Seriously, I am so curious.
Soemone mentioned a get-to-gether during the summer in Naperville to do that river walk for fun. That sounds good to me. That could work for many, I think. I have never been to Naperville (shame on me) and would like to visit it.
Navy, so good to see you in the picture. It helps to match a face with a name.
Buddy, I don't understand the arm thing. Do you mean you may have RA and LE? Why the heck can't they diagnoses what is happening. I have an HMO and I always worried that something like you are experiencing could happen to me. So far, the only one I really have to wait for is the dermatologist. That took a long wait and unfortunately it was trouble. I wasn't worried or in pain, so the wait was okay, but man, you need to see someone! Maybe the person canceled her appointment because she was on a waiting list herself and one opened. It seems cruel to not see someone in such discomfort.
It is still coolish here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLYN! Great news too for you and you results.. sooooo happy to hear this for you!!
Geesh budders.. what are these Dr's wating for , your hand to blow up? It is swollen and though there is no infection, what are you to do to get this more comfortable. What about the Physical Therapists for the arm? I really feel for you and think it is just a travesty that you are not gettin in for an appt because of insurance carrier!! DId you have a sleep study?
Laura... doin much better.thanks. Back to work tomm and had my chiro and massage therapy at my Dr;s office today. Feel more calmer inside and joints are getting better. GLAD you like your gel.. soak your head if you need to too..lol.Baths make me do that!!!

Elf.... You are such a great mom. can see how you are there for your boys and always trying to do the best you can.. it shows!!!!

Am I just paranoid or is Wendrew's absence of concern?
Budder - Your hand looks horrible...OMG - you have to be having severe pain. Why are you going to a RA? Is seeing an RA for possible Arthritis? Does your Dr. think it's Arthritis and not LE? I am worried that you're not taking an antibiotic for the open/oozing drainage. I, like Susan am concerned with the treatment you're getting or the lack of it. Did you call the LE experts from the list Binney gave you that we talked about last evening on the phone? Let me know, dear!
blackjack - How are you feeling?
Marina - The cumulative effects of chemo...SUCK! Been there, done that! For me...each tx was worse than the one before. Try to be patient...and try not to forget that things will get better. You just have to wade through the BS first! Hang in there, neighbor!
Rita, MaryJane, Wendy TY - Hi there...glad you have each other to golf and "play" with!
Elf - Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww...thanks! You are my little sister!
Carolyn - Hope you're recovering comfortably...lots of rest and lots of water.
Donna - I am so glad you're feeling better!
-------------------------------------------
My arm is still very painful. I have PT in the morning...I hope I will get some relief soon. I called my PCP and asked for something for pain. She phoned in an r/x...dh picked it up for me. It has already helped...not 100% BUT hey...any relief is welcome! I am heading for a warm bath and some much needed sleep. Can pain be exhausting...I just feel so tired these days. Although I have to give myself some credit. I have done a good job at keeping up with "things"...I refuse to give in to this beast. I do as much as I can within the limits imposed upon me and I am thankful for the ability to keep up with it all. I continue to wear the cumbersome "wrap" bandaging when necessary and unwrap my arm when major swelling arises. It's a constant game of staying one step ahead of the beast. I hate this beast! I want to destroy it!

Update on Wendy.. I talked with her and she is doing fine. Just needs to rest her eyes. Computer glare is not good for the eyes. Will be back on soon.
Have a restful evening.

Thanks BJ for the Wendy update. I think we've all been concerned about her. I have a busy day ahead of me so I need to get moving. I'm moderating one of the State Regional Scholastic Bowl Tournaments this afternoon and evening. I always leave very impressed by what our junior high students know!
Everyone have a great day!

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

Buddy -- seeing your hand, I wish you could get in today. That looks so very un-comfortable and I'm sure it is. It is hard to imagine that anyone ( if they saw this ) could put you in a position of having to wait for any real length of time to get something done.
Now I'm wondering -- where does this issue arise of having to wait. Is is Insurance -- not enough Dr's.Does everything have to a "true" life threatening emergency. I realize that many situations can wait -- and haven't we all drug our feet just a little at times, but this seems very un-fair to have to deal with something that has such a big effect on everything you do. I really don't know what to say except this tends to strike a little fear in the heart of everyone I'm sure who could in fact, due to node removal have LE start up. I'm praying that this gets resolved very soon ---
Hi to everyone else today. Hope you are all doing well. I'll be checking in later on. See you then.
Hugs, Jackie

Just a quick post.. 50% shrinkage in size and over 75% in volume.. whatever that means I am thrilled... I was due for some good news!!! Treatment in a few hrs but somehow I think it will be a lot easier to take!!!

Buddy, have you got ANY doctor on your team who can write you an immediate referral for evaluation by a well-qualified lymphedema therapist? Call them all. This is not just a matter of discomfort, it's a serious infection risk. Even an antibiotic is not enough -- you need to get the swelling down and the inflammation out of there. Please make like a squeaky gate and get them to send you for the help you need NOW.
If there is already infection, a therapist can't begin therapy, but she can sure help you get the care you need and then do therapy when it's cleared up. If there's no infection, therapy will help heal your hand, because it will improve the function of the lymph vessels (which is how bacteria are removed from the area, for Pete's sake!!!)
Hugs, prayers,
Binney0 -
Buddy, do not do this until we hear from more women as I am not sure what I am thinking would work for you in the end.
Do you think Buddy would get faster attention if she just went to the ER? I hear people go in for far more trivial things. Or, would her insurance reject that and she would have to pay the bill? I do not know.
To me it looks like it needs to be treated, but as we all know, I am not a doctor.
Blackjack, thanks for the word on Wendy. I thought that perhaps she needed to rest her sweet eyes. Also, this may not be the case with Wendy, but some times people need a break from the boards. I know I get into a little funk every now and then I need space. Lately, that has not been the case, but I have felt that way in the past.
Take care and good luck, Buddy.

Thanks all for you kind thoughts.
Having a little bit of a set back. Thought I had an infection and had spiked a fever of 101.1. Called the doctor and they had me come in immediately. I was feeling awful. Except for dr visit I slept all day! Anyway, dr said that everything looked good, even the area that we were concerned about. She thought I might be staying in bed too much and I told her no I think I'm probably not resting enough! Fever did break last night but I'm still incredibly tired today. It looks like I'll be resting more.
My neices and nephew are so cute. They come in and look in on me every so often to make sure I'm ok. They have such good hearts.
Marina - so glad that you finally received some good news.
Have a great day everyone!

Carolyn... Keep resting and let that fever take its course!I use to get a fever every time i had a neualsta shot after my treatments and it is no fun! You have to listen to your body and rest is needed right now and you have to do just that!
Buddy...I have not been on all day and HOPE this is ALL takened care of by now. That is gross stuff goin on and you are in need of some serious help and follow up !!!!Glad you have the ladies here as they know more on the LE issues which concens me most. Please keep on the Drs and get the list read that binny GOT for you!
Laura... Glad you have a good handle on your arm and doin all that you do. Proud of you as you know what needs to be done and then shares it as the Wonderful Warrior you are!!
Worked with the kiddies today and tomm.., pretty tired!!! GOT some additional homeopathic meds to help at night as the wake up still occurs and my Dr will not stop until we get me the total night sleep. IT has to do with my nervous system and cortisol peaks at night. At least i know now why!!!
Well glad Wendrew was located.. it is not good when we cannot find one of us!!!!
Sweet Dreams,
Donna
