Good morning! Today is my 14th wedding anniversary. Time flies! lol Tonight, instead of celebrating, I will be shooting my last group of coaches.
-----------------------------------------------------
brat - Too funny about the furniture delivery! And sorry about your tooth...ouchy! Make sure your dentist knows your medical history. Good luck!
NavyMom - Wow...you kept that little outfit all these years! It worked out very well.
elf - Hang in there!
onward - I'm sorry you were in the hospital. My sister recently had blood clots in her lungs. She was on Coumadin for several weeks. She is still taking steroids - well over a month now. Make sure your Onc and all your Drs know about everything. Best wishes.
-----------------------------------------------------
HELLO - to everyone! Have a nice day!

Happy anniversary, Laura.
Today's quote may work for me if I tweak it a mite. I have been working on this photo project to put something together for someone who blogs. DH just erased every darn picture. It was by accident of course. They are gone forever and it took so much time. He feels awful. So I accept it without resigning myself that the project is poof.....just need to traipse about redoing it all. I am trying SO hard NOT to focus on the handicaps of HIS heredity.
There is a lesson to be learned here. I really need to learn how to download my pictures myself. I really need to understand this camera.
I know this is really minor and I flip from thinking how minor it is to how sad I feel all this work is GONE.
Have a great day!

Happy Anniversary Laura! Hmmm....spending your evening with a group of coaches instead of this special hubby??? Hmmmmmmm......don't know about that one! LOL Are you enjoying the photography job?
Oh Susan, such a mess and now you have to start over. I'm so sorry! Luckily it can be redone and I'm sure hubby feels terrible.
Onward, I'm sorry that you spent your weekend in the hospital but glad that you're home and on the mend. I really can't comment much because I've never taken that drug.
Lago......travel home safely!!!!
Well, I'm off for Tuesday night golf. Catch you all later.

Hi gals!
What a lovely day! I spent the first part of it on the golf course and it was so nice.......not too hot and not too cool. I hope everybody has had a chance to enjoy it.
Now I'm off to tackle some question-writing. Hugs to all of you!

Hi girls -
Kids are back at school and summer is winding down. I'm sad. I really need to move to a warm climate as I really hate cold weather!
Going to see the onc on Monday for my check-up. Interested to see what he has to say about the osteopenia issue. Gyne wants me on Actonel (never again) and primary says Vit D/Calcium only.
Have a great week everyone. Thinking of you WendyTY and everyone else in treatment!

Completed my fourth (and final) AC today - woo hoo! Two weeks before Taxol begins. Feeling the usual wooziness - blec - and tired.

Stephanie
OMG you are half way though! So happy for you… although I do think you look pretty sexy without. hair.BTW today my PS told me he is only planning on putting 2 drains in. My BS thought 4. I'm pretty please about that. Only 2 myPods! He also thought I'd be going home on Thursday.

LOL - thank you lago! Really just 1/3 of the way through I think. It was eight weeks (4 treatments) of AC, now 12 weeks of Taxol w/radiation to follow {sigh}
My motto: I can do this!

Hi Girls! Been reading but haven't figured out how to post from my iphone yet. If anyone knows how, I'd love to get it figured out.
Thanks for all the kind words. As you can imagine, it sucks finding out it is back. My spirits are high. It was a little tough at first facing the possibility. Now that we know what we have to deal with, I am ready to get started. I've been trying to get in as much golf as possible before I have to start again. Friday I get my new port. This time, I get the power port so that they can also do the pet scans using it. Life's little pleasures!
I am going to try to work through chemo. It might be quite interesting. We'll see how things go. Unfortunately my sick leave doesn't renew until January.
Chemo will be different this time around. My onco had to move out of the community cancer center due to space limitations. I think I am going to miss the old chemo room. Hopefully I'll sleep through treatments again this time.
Please don't let my recurrence get you down. I'm staying positive and going to beat this for a second time! I'll try to post as I feel up to it. I will be reading. I'm sure Rita will keep you updated if I wait too long.

How great to hear your voice and YOU SOUND GREAT! Of course we were down but now we are up with you as you move forward to kick this thing once again out of your life.It sounds from the blog you are keeping that you have an entourage of thousands supporting you!
Have a fun day. I am off to play with my baby girls. Getting up early feels odd.
I already have three days subbing set up.....the Music teacher. What a match! I sing like Kermit the frog.....well, that is mean. Kermit sings a lot better.
Have fun! Susan

4th AC must have wiped me out! I went to bed at 8:30 last night - LOL. Awoke around 2:30 to tinkle. Heard the clock (downstairs) ring 3 .... heard it ring 4 .... and got up shortly after that. Came down to take my Dex and Emmend, had a bowl of oatmeal and sipped Sprite. Laid down on the couch (5:30?) and didn't wake up til my daughter called at 7:30.
Having toast and hot tea now - thankful for sleep!

Ginger -- you are hanging in there ( although there is not much choice ) but doing it with style, grace and the all important humor and strong attitude. I think you and WendyTY have a lot of things in common.
WendyTY -- I think you are right --- it was a blow to all of us, but your fighting spirit is helping us move ahead with vigor and confidence -- just like you display. You know every heart in this place is with you completely.
Lago, great news for you too. You know ladies.....all of this is something like having babies. There is a point at which you wonder just how you got into this so deep......and then one day you have done all that can be done, finished txs, and find yourself going down the road forgetting many of the agonies for the feelings of the victory. We really do have to keep on, keeping on and we will win, singly and together.
Hugs,Jackie

Hi gals! Wow! It's another great day out there! I'm off in just a few minutes to mow. I spent the morning on the golf course. I saw you out there Wendy, pounding that ball and hope you had an awesome game. I did pretty good for me.
Ginger......wishing away the last side effects from your AC. You're making progress, gal! Before you know it, you'll be done!
Susan, have fun with your little girls. How I cherish my time with my grandsons! Also, I think you'll have fun being the music teacher! You're a pretty creative person!
Connie, I'll be thinking about you on Monday and sending good vibes. We totally agree on our seasonal preference. I hate winter with its cold bursts of air and the snow! We can whine together as it approaches.
Well, I'm off to mow before I get out of the mood. I hope you're all having a good week.

DonnaDio,
I just noticed we are the same diagnosis, 1 cm, Stage I, Grade III, me, nodes 0/2. Triple Negative on the hormone receptors also. I see you are coming up on 2 years in November. That has to be exciting. Sending prayers to you and all the ladies here.
WendyTY, thank you so much. In the midst of what is happening again with you, here you are encourageing the rest of us. Thank you so much. Prayers and a huge hug Wendy.
Ginger/Stephanie, I agree. If I can look as "hot" without hair as you do, I'll go out without anything on. Congrats on having as much chemo behind you now as you do. I see my Oncologist for the first time Sept.7. My BS told me again that I will have to have chemo because of the Triple Negative. I saw her Tuesday, Dr. Mammolito in Peoria. And I saw the Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Wilkins in Galesburg, on Wednesday. He told me too that chemo will come first but they partially have me set up so things can move quickly once Dr. Veeder gives me the ok from chemo. I have to have a total of 33 rads because of the Triple Negative. 25 regular ones and 8 boosts.
My husband sees Dr. Veeder, the Oncologist today for his bi-annual checkup. He is also my husband's hematologist. My husband has a rare blood clotting disorder called, Anti Phospholipid Antiobody Syndrome, APS or APLS for short. His blood does not clot normally, he clots to easily and is on Coumadin. He has been since 1985. Blessedly, Praise God, he does not and never has had cancer.

Jwatrlily, Mary Jane who only posts every so often on this site has Dr. Veeder as her oncologist too and she is coming up on 16 years now, so he must be good! I think you've got a great medical team!

Hello there... So decided to keep the nanny after my Mom had a conversation with her... she is MUCH better.. asks if I need help and such before running off.. Of course my daughter has decided to wake up at 5 last three nights.. but today we know why... tooth #4 is here...
Going to Indianapolis tomorrow to see an Onc for his opinion on my treatment decisions.. hopefully he'll confirm what I'm doing..
Have a good night and a good day tomorrow.. will be a long one for me with a 5 hr drive each way...

Hi All,
Wendy TY - glad to hear you are in good spirits.
Lago - great to hear that you'll have less drains to deal with.
MakMak - Glad to hear that maid is better after the discussion with your mom. Good luck with your trip to Indy.
I ended up in the hospital last night. Had a 100.6 fever. I was feeling out of sorts all day and then around six oclock I got all achy and my temp was 100.2 but I didn't trust my thermomator so I packed up a couple of things and was off to my sisters house. I now have an antibiotic to take for 10 days.
I just have to share this really cute story with you. My sister just told me about it - apparently the kids listen to Auntie and Mommy's conversations! LOL My niece Katie received a Liv doll for her birthday. Liv has removable hair. Katie and Grace were playing and the Liv doll took off her hair and said to the other Barbie doll that she didn't have any hair because she was going through chemo. The other doll said that's ok, we'll go wig shopping. To which Liv respoded that wigs might be too hot. So Barbie suggested that Liv try scarvies and hats or that she just go without anything on her head - it was really ok.
So my sister is now dubbing the Liv doll - Chemo Barbie. I am laughing at how adorbable the kids are and marveling at how accepting they are.
Take care everyone and be well!
Carolyn

thank you all! I love seeing cheers and encouragement when I log on. I stayed up til after 10 last night & took an Advil PM, hoping I'd make it through the whole night - but still awoke around 4 w/trouble getting back to sleep. Finally managed to (hard to shut the brain off!) but got another hour or so I think.
The guy I dated for much of last year & who has stayed in touch with me, been incredibly positive, optimistic and supportive ..... asked me to go on a boating trip this weekend. Having had chemo on Wed. I hesitated for a minute (yes - only a minute - LOL) and he was kind enough to say I could go to bed early & nap if I need to. So I'm pretty excited, staying in a cabin on the lake tonight & tomorrow (Sat.) night. A little bit nervous in that I've only met one other couple going, but I'm sure the novelty my baldness and booblessness will wear off quickly -
Hoping you all have a good weekend!0 -
Glad you're going on the boat trip! Being on the water is so peaceful and will be better than any meds you can find!!! Have fun!

I'm going to brag. This is my last weekend with my real boobs. We are taking them out.
Tonight we are going to eat at Sun Wah for chinese roast duck (hot & sour soup is to die for too) in Uptown with a couple of my friends http://www.sunwahbbq.com/
Tomorrow my husband made reservations at Le Bouchon in Bucktown. Funny thing is I realized the owner was my boss back in the early 80's when I waited tables in college. I actually live right down the street from that place I used to work at. If he's there I'll need to let him know. http://www.lebouchonofchicago.com/
Bucktown art fest is this weekend so I hope to do that too. http://www.bucktownartsfest.com/
I'm really disappointed I'm going to miss the African Festival of the Arts this year (next weekend). Guess I'll have to wait till next year: http://africanfestivalchicago.com/
Can you tell I love Chicago!
