BJ great news regarding the MRI. MRIs are always an issue because they tend to give a lot of false positives. It's still a newer tool they use to diagnose breast cancer. The radiologists are still learning according the radiologist that did my biopsy.

BJ.........Whew! I am so sorry that you had to go through that scare! How well I relate! I am, however, doing the happy dance for you. Always remember that you do not have to go through any scares alone. We are all here to help you through anything like this and we're all willing! Hugs to you!
Laura, did I miss info about your doctor's appointment? If so, how did it go?
I'm presenting a workshop at the IESA coach's conference for Scholastic Bowl tomorrow so I need to be sure my presentation is ready and I'm dressed appropriately! That's today's project. Hugs to all of you on this wonderful Thursday.

Jackie...thank you for the wonderful qoute. How true is that we all are looking for that vision of hope. But with the love and support we get here from these amazingly strong women we always get through this. Illinois gals are tough!!!!
Rita, I know you will look absolutely amazing in what ever you wear. Good luck shopping. As I say retail shopping is always good for the soul even if its window shopping. lol
Hope everyone is having a wonderful fun filled day today.

Blackjack I never got the chance to do special prayers for you, but I did think of you several times during the past week. Whew..............................another bullet dodged. I am just thrilled that you are fine. The stress is just awful.
Good luck with the bowl, Rita! You will be great no matter the outfit. Navy, we are thinking about you.Jackie, keep those quotes coming. They keep me thinking.
I am working these days and looking forward to a trip to California. We are leaving next Wednesday. I have my Frommers ready with all sorts of interesting destinations. It is nice to be making the extra income now with the idea I'll get souvenirs for the family on my trip.
Take to all!

Congrats to BJ and NavyMom on your great reports this week! Lots of good news here this week. I was able to get my rad appt for tomorrow changed to early morning so I am heading from there straight to the airport to catch a flight to Seattle. Long ways to go for a short weekend with my daughter and family, but I am still on this short leash for another couple weeks. Going trick-or-treating with my six year old granddaughter, Claire on Saturday. I miss her so since they moved out there last January. DH has to work a trip this weekend so I figured I could just as well get out of town also.
Rads.... 17 down, 10 to go. I had my weekly visit with the doctor and nurse and they agreed that my skin is holding up exceptionally well. I have gone through alot of lotions and potions though so I guess it is paying off.
Everyone have a great weekend.

Adey coming to my hood this weekend.
Just finished making a big pot of sweet & sour cabbage soup. Have to freeze some of it. Hope my taste buds will still like it after a few more treatments.

This board is cheering me up..... all of you are ahead of me in treatment, and continuing on with very full lives while struggling through difficult treatment plans. I don't have any updates to add here, except to point out that you are all an inspiration to me, and I am glad that I have found this particular forum.
Several of you have had good news this week.... hallelulah!
I am doing my best to remain sane until my BMX with TE on 11/9. I'll be keeping a low profile until then, wishing everybody the best. Lots to prepare for..... I scheduled the surgery to be immediately AFTER our busiest weekend of the year which entails three performances of a play, two IWSL soccer games, one music competition, one cello lesson, one voice lesson, and one tumbling and trampoline meet spread across my four busy kids. Fortunately the in-laws will be here to help out.

Lisa -- so glad you decided to hang around with us. If we have inspired you -- good. The sole purpose for many of us is to help anyone coming along to get through this daunting life experience with as few bumps and bruises as possible......and also because it is often difficult for those who have never had anything like this to understand the highs and lows that come along with it.
Thank goodness for your in-laws. Wow !!! You do have a lot on your plate. We will be ready whenever you need some personal hand-holding from the been there-done that group, but hope you'll pop in from time to time as you find time. These gals do have get together so keep that in mind as well. Something they do may fall on one of your free days ( I know -- which millennium ) and you could make a luncheon or something. Were here when you need us.
Hugs, Jackie

LisaMomOfFour I did the BMX with TE August 31st. It was a lot easier than I thought. I never took any pain pills (although I don't think that is the norm) but has some soreness. From what I hear most others who do have pain manage it well with the drugs.
You'll be amazed how fast you get better. Tuesday last afternoon-evening was my surgery by Thursday I was going to the au bon pain (in hospital gown and all) at Rush for lunch… went home that day. (BTW food at Rush is really bad unless you order the salads).

Weird question for those of you that have or had TEs while doing chemo...
For about a week after tx it "feels" like my TEs are squishy... or something. It just feels very odd both internally and externally. Could be in my head. Anyone else have this wacky feeling?

Yup they feel different. Can't put my finger on it but they do feel different. I think it might have something to do with nerves with me. I'm experiencing a little neuropathy. Little in my left hand, this time now my left heel and my left arm seems to get numb-er than it was before. Then after a week or so everything is fine. I feel that way about my expanders/chest too since some sensation has come back. It's like I step backwards for a week or so.

Glad I'm not alone! It is hard to explain but I'll get to feel it again next week, woo hoo. (c:

Lots of good news! I LOVE IT! Way to go girls.
FINALLY had my Onc appt. today. A portion of the tests were done while I waited - the #'s were smack dab where they should be. The remaining tests are sent out (including VitD) and I should get those results next week. AND THE BEST NEWS - I'm on the once a year program! Yeah!
Have a nice evening!
Edited to add:
lago - I love cabbage soup. My Mother made it often when we were kids. Yum! I love cabbage...especially stuffed!

My youngest nephew's wedding today. Leave for NY tomm to see DAD .
HOPE all are well, especially those in TX and with any appts for tests. Navy..Congrad's!!!Laura...NO APPTS FOR A YEAR...YEAH!!!
I am doin better as I am learning that my sleep issues are hormonal. They are called power surges and heats mmy entire body, brain and is causing the wake ups. I am now taking some Remiferin (over the counter) and sleeping with a iced pack mask thing to put on me when it occurs and it is now at least understood. I am considered post menopausal and wish I knew how long this lasts. My flashes in the last two weeks have reallyincreased and trying to keep black cohosh in me now and it may help?
Be well ALL and will be in touch when back EAST! AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Congratulations to all of the girls with wonderful news. I am rejoicing because my two sons and a girlfriend arrived yesterday from college and will stay till Tuesday. Yeah!
I did have a humbling experience, I thought I was up for a grocery run, with my husband and I empty nesters, our supplies will not handle three new adults. By the time I get half way through the store, I realize I was kidding myself. By the time I got to the register, I couldnt even empty my cart. The clerk looked up and asked if I was ok. I told her I was out of energy. She came around to me and told me that everyone has days like this and to go sit on the bench and she would handle it. She emptied my cart, rang me up and got the carry out guy to bring my stuff to the car. She was so discreet that no one in the store realized that she helped me out. I had pictured the checker on the intercom saying "cancer patient" register #4, cant do anything. lol. Than she came up to me, smiled and just gave me a hug. Oh yeah, I cried. It is a hard day when you realize the limitations you have. I am so very thankful that I got someone who was kind. : )
