Lisa... I know what you mean.  A year ago, I did not take anything other than a multi-vitamin.  This beast turns us into real pill poppers!

HI Girls, I am so glad it is Friday. Boy do I need a rest!!. Work was so busy this week. Went on a field trip with my 3rd graders to the nature center. Walked in the rain snow we had, it was so cold and wet. Made corn bread and apple sauce in the fire place. Asked the bus drive to do a Starbucks run for me... then back to school. Ahhh you gotta love them. They were fighting over who was going to sit with me. Me I wanted to sit by myself. Went furniture shopping with my dd. trying to teach her how to buy furniture and what to look for. Exhausting to say the least.

Thanks girls for all the positive news about living in the city. Big move is the end of Feb. so I may call you city girls for a drink as I may just need one after moving her. lol

Lisa..how are you doing. Hope you are doing well and resting. Yes we do take lots of pills but I call them happy pills. lol

Lago...any tips for good low cost furniture store to ck out by you. I would like to have everything delivered.

Rita... are you in Fl now enjoying that sun. Maybe some golfing too.

Jackie...hope you are do well....busy with your babies.

Well I just read the email for Carolyn's sister and I am sooo sad. She is going into hospice now and was given only a short time as the bc has spread. I do hate this disease. Please keep her in our prayers esp for her sister who has done so much for her.

Well its jammie and wine time for me. Really need to chill now after reading that email.

Have a warm and cozy evening....remember to hug the one's you love. Hugs to all of you!!!!

Just read the news about Carolyn.  This is so unfair.  No one should have to go through this.  Carolyn and her family are in my prayers.

Just read Carolyn's  sister's note and am pacing the house, unable to quiet my mind, muttering, spewing obscenities. Connie is right-- no one should have to go through this. Sh**t

If she's up to it I'm going to visit next week. Carolyn is still very much alive. I want to give her a hug. I'm still hoping for that miracle that buys her more quality time.

Good Morning Girls, By now most of you have read about Carolyn's progression with this disease. Each of us will response to the news differently. Yes this sucks, yes I too hate this disease, but I know that being here with all of you has been such a great support. Carolyn really needs our support now. I would like to suggest that we cont to send her uplifting cards / notes to make her feel loved and special. We can't turn back the clock but only go forward now. I thought maybe a small get together party for her, but I don't know if she is up to it. I will find out and let you know.

If anyone else has a suggestion please let me know. Remember that we are all here for love , friendship and support. Illinois Girls are tough!!

Have a wonderful Saturday.....Hugs to all

The news is very sad indeed.  If there is a get together I'd be happy to join in as well..

Nothing too exciting going on around here.. just did a bit of shopping to celebrate my news.. but now reality set in.. my paychecks are gone.. and I am officially on disability.. it's the right decision for me, but will be a tough one on my family..

Seattle in a week, but this time I will be on my own. I guess the volunteer that drove me is not willing to do so again.. so I will be working on transportation next week.. ACS did get me a hotel.. this time within a mile of the hospital, so I am very grateful for that!!

Off to grocery shop.. will check in later..

Carolyn, I just cannot get you off my mind since reading the news last evening.  So glad that your family is there for you.  Please remember that all of us here are there for you too.  If there is a get together, I would love to join you.  I will be heading down to Phoenix tomorrow afternoon... back again on Thursday.

Lago... have a nice evening at the Pilobolus performance.  Would love to see that some day.

Hi girls. Quite sad...do not know what to say. Carolyn called me last night. Her voice is such a pleasure to listen to. She's shocked and scared. But she knows we're all here for her and that is really helping her alot. If you pray, she needs prayers. If you don't, I know you will keep her near and dear to your heart and send out healing thoughts and hugs.

Hugs to you, Carolyn and everyone here.

Hi Girls.. I emailed Carolyn's sister about a get together. But I will let her make that decision if she thinks Carolyn is up to it. If she wants it I will email you all on time and date. We are looking into getting her a prayer blanket and putting all our names on it for her. Wrapping her up with hugs in the form of a blanket from all of us here The Illinois Ladies.

I just want to thank all of you for all you do for each other here. You all are sooo amazing and supportive to each other. We have a very special bond here so let's keep it that way.

Gotta run... have a great weekend everyone.

    Hugs to you all.

BJ... prayer blanket is great idea!  My "church ladies" gave me one last spring when I got home from my BMX surgery.  It gave me alot of comfort to snuggle with, especially when going through those bad chemo days.  I still sleep with it, LOL.  Oh, yes.

So hard to find the right words.  I just hope Carolyn knows how much we are all thinking of her and sending her all the good wishes, prayers, vibes that are possible.  I'm so glad her family is there for her and making sure she is getting the best care possible.

Good wishes to all of you - especially those still in treatment or just finishing treatment.   Hang tough, ladies.

I just got my mailer for the upcoming Y-Me walk.  It's only 3 miles, which even I can manage.  I did this a few years ago, and think it's a good time to do it again.  I already told my family that this is how I want us to spend Mother's Day this year.  Hopefully it won't be a monsoon like it was the last time we did it.

Laura, that is so nice that you wre able to talk  to Carolyn.

Speaking of Illinois Women are Tough.....DH and I are going to True Grit tonight...hear it is good.  Breakfast with the cats at Lincon Park was fun.  Carolyn and all of us were on my mind, but it was good to get  a blast of that frigid Lake Michigan air and learn about these beautiful animals.

    Good evening to all!

Hey guys.....being lazy about posting lately but I do read....congrats to all you girls that are now finished with chemo.  See....we told you that you could do it...and you did!

Congrats Marina....great news on your scans....cannot imagine how happy you are!  Yay you!

Lago....now that you are finished hopefully your nails will quiet down.  Will probably take some time to get back to normal tho...at least the worst is behind you.

    BJ...hope you are feeling better!

Jacks....I really need to get back on my "really BIG horse" and start posting more often...snort!!!

And now Carolyn.....well, I read the note from your dear Sister and may I just say...that sucks.  Cancer is just not a fair disease, you do everything and it's not enough.  You do nothing and it's not enough.  You do nothing and you are fine, you do everything and it works.  And everything in between.  Sure would be nice if cancer at least gave us a level playing field...but it does not.  We would like to help where we can....could you give us some ideas? Otherwise I am afraid that we are just gonna take over and give you one hell of a ride, dear sister!  ONE HELL OF A RIDE WE WILL GIVE YOU!!!!!!

Ya hear me Carolyn???????  You ain't going anywhere quietly, young lady!  NOW....get thinking about what you would like from us....and we will make it happen.  Oh yes we will!

    PARTY TIME !!!!!!!!

Hugs to all.......what a fantastic group of women we are...and how honored I feel to be a small part of it.

Good morning from sunny Florida.  We got in yesterday and got settled into the condo.  Today we are exploring this area of the beach and the surrounding neighborhood and plan to make some tee times for the week. It sure beats our winter wonderland!

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear Carolyn's news.  I kept reading along and thought....what the heck????  This isn't fair!  It makes me so angry.  I'm so glad that some of you are close enough to help her and I think the prayer blanket is such a wonderful idea.

Lisa...........yea!  Only 5 more left!  You can do it!

    Connie...great news on the mammo!

Well, I'll check in later.  Have a great day!

Carolyn, I'm so mad at life right now.  *shaking my fist*  So, so sorry to read your news- but I also know that there is always hope and that's what I'm sending you right now.  All my hope and support.

If you are not up for going out to a restaurant, I am happy to offer my home for a get-together.  We can settle you on the reclining couch and treat you like a queen!

    Love and Hugs to you!
