Illinois ladies facing bc

HI ladies,  Just got back from a wonderful walk here in sunny Arizona.  What a beautiful day here.  Of course, we seem to have brought a little cooler weather along with us which the locals will be complaining about but it is perfect for us.  We are going to play some tennis this afternoon and take advantage of the rec center.

Hugs and more hugs to Carolyn.  Please let me know what develops as far as a get together.  I should be home by Thursday evening, unless, of course, flights get messed up with the incoming snow storm.  I won't mind if we have to ride out the week here.  Everyone stay warm with your cup of green tea by the fireside.

I will plan to do the Vegas thing if any others are going.  Actually, I think I may need to be there at about that time anyway for another conference.  It's quite a ways off yet but will put it on my calendar.  I sent an email offering to set up a group discounted airfare.

Gosh, that impending snow storm sounds like a big one!

Checking in this evening -- long day doing Shelter business.  Had to get a 1099 out -- one person got over $600.00 .  Glad there was only one. 

Then one information gathering trip, two for supplies, and then feral cats, then Maggie's.  It rained off and on but tonight will be the beginning.  Our wooden walkway is already getting slick.  Not liking that.  Tomorrow is my volunteer day....hope I make it and I certainly hope I am not alone.

I can ask for Sunday 2/13 off work, or change my hours around- but I do need to know a range of time.  I want to come! 

Actually, I think Vegas would be FAB!  I once attended a Jane Austen mini-convention in Vegas and it was wonderful.  There was about 20 of us and we rented an extra suite to have just as a meeting area to get together and watch JA movies, etc.  Also attended some shows together and met for brunches, etc.  It was the cheapest way to get together!

Good morning.  Just a small note for the morning.  I am going to try to get out to the Shelter. Hope to inspire anyone there to work quickly --- mainly to get things done asap and to be able to get out and head for home before dusk.   I also will be feeding the cats and going to Maggie's so have a "normal" day ahead.  I have asked Dh not to go to work this afternoon.  It is close to 20 miles to Mt. Vernon and he would not get off until 9 tonight and out of the store at 9:30.  I don't think anyone is going to be shopping and I am feeling like I'd be a lot more comfy about my being out if I knew he were at home waiting for me. 

Excuse my language but it sounds like it is just going to be pukey.  South and East of St. Louis, Mo. is going to get a lot more rain, ice and sleet than snow -----  Centralia is due East of S. Louis, Mo.  I'll be checking in later....when all my work is done.  I'm thinking of all of you hoping things will stay ok and it feels good to know you are thinking of me too.

Good morning

No snow here yet!  I have to work half day, so it will probably start dumping right when I leave to go to work.  Rumor is that there is a snow day at my school tomorrow, so BJ there is hope.  I am just a sub and I want that day off!  So silly.

 It looks like the 13th is working for most.  My birthday is the 14th and the family has planned a party for me on the 13th  and for my grandchild Lila who also has a birthday.They have worked hard (I think) so I better not rock the boat.  I will be there in spirit.if in fact it is the 13th.

How are we doing, Jackie?  What is the temp on the deck, Wendy?

Well my daughter's college downtown has a snow day today and tomorrow.  I'm heading out to work this afternoon and hoping all the later-scheduled patients call and cancel!  I'm playing tomorrow by ear.   My car is terrible in the deep snow but my DH has 4WD so I'll be taking his.  He's home with stomach flu (yuck!), so his snow days are sick days.  Hoping he doesn't share.  :-/

I'd love a trip to Vegas, but I'd be more inclined to want to go with a smaller group.  I'm a big cruiser, so of course, I'd love for the IL ladies to do a fun short-cruise getaway sometime.  I'm leaving for one in about a month and cannot wait!

I was getting my TE's filled while doing chemo as well.  I didn't have any odd or squishy feels with mine.  I wish you the best

Late afternoon and I am home early.  We worked hard at the Shelter and got out early....just as it was beginning to get slippery.  Was not able to do the feral cats today as it was pouring rain which had some sleet.  Went home and picked up Denny and we went to Maggie's and I got her done.

On the way home.....trees branches hanging low everywhere from the ice in the trees.  Several times we heard lots of noise...turned out to be ice pellets and chunks that the wind was blowing out of the trees.  I am so glad to be home as it is ony going to get worse. I'm sure it will stop the liquid-rain moisture soon and turn to snow while the water on the ground proceeds to freeze solid.  Not liking this much and wonder how tomorrow will go. 

Hope all has gone ok for all of you.  It is a great day to be home and inside, but it would be easy with so much ice build-up to lose some power ( no generator here )  at some point.  We continue to hear ice chunks hit the roof.
