I WAS JUST CHECKING IN HERE, THINKING IT WAS JUST A WEEK AGO I WAS AT GARRETT'S BUYING MY CHICAGO MIX TO HAUL HOME AND THEN A LITTLE LATER THAT WE WERE STANDING IN THE SNOW WAITING FOR THE MEGABUS.  IN A WAY I AM GLAD TIME GOES SO QUICKLY, ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM WAITING FOR THE NUMBER OF WEEKS OF A TREATMENT TO BE UP OR FOR SCAN RESULTS....BUT AT OTHER TIMES IS IT DOWNRIGHT SCARY.

ZAP:  I HAVE HAD I THINK THAT SAME CONDITION EVER SINCE MY EYELASHES GREW BACK IN, BUT I NEVER KNEW HOW TO SPELL IT AND THOUGHT HE WAS SAYING BLUFFERITIS, BUT MAYBE THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT SPELLINGS AND NOT THE SAME CONDITION AT ALL.  ANYWAY, I TAKE DOXYCLCLINE 500 MG TWICE A DAY AND ALSO I USE AN EYE OINTMENT AT NIGHT CALLED CILOXIN.  I NEVER DID WEAR MASCARA BEFORE OR AFTER CHEMO SINCE I DIDNT LIKE THE WAY IT WOULD FLAKE OFF EVEN IF IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY WATERPROOF OR LONG LASTING.  SOMETIMES HE WILL TELL MY MY EYES LOOK BETTER, BUT SO FAR IT HAS NOT GONE AWAY SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS SOMETHING ELSE CHRONIC THAT I GET TO DEAL WITH THE REST OF MY LIFE OR WHAT.  SOMETIMES MY EYES STICK TOGETHER IN THE MORNINGS, BUT NORMALLY IT DOESNT BOTHER ME AT ALL, BUT THEN THERE ARE TIMES MY EYES JUST ITCH LIKE MAD AND I RUB AND RUB AND GO AT THEM WITH A WASHCLOTH AND FINALLY THE ITCH FEELS LIKE IT HAS BEEN SCRATCHED ENOUGH AND GOES AWAY.  HE COULD NOT GIVE ME ANY REASON FOR WHY I HAVE THIS, BUT EVERY SO OFTEN I HAVE TO GO IN AND HAVE EYELASHES PLUCKED OUT SINCE SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN GROWING INWARD INSTEAD OF OUTWARD AND SCRATCH MY CORNEA WHEN THEY GET TOO CLOSE.  I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT I WILL BE ALMOST PLEASED IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS THIS PROBLEM (AM SORRY YOU HAVE IT, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD OF IT.... YOUR FATHER HAS IT ALSO, LAGO?

THOSE ARE BEAUTIFUL CAKES.....IS THAT FONDANT?   HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA.

EXCUSE THE CAPS, IM ON TIM'S LAPTOP AT MY FATHER'S AND DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ARE ON HERE OR HOW TO GET THEM OFF.

Former lifelong  Illinois Lady. Watch those D counts. Mine was an 8 when it should have been minimum 30 but preferably over 50 especially with cancer.  8 is really low.  In Seattle where I am now people are much more aware of their D counts because the breast cancer rate here is high. I wonder how it compares to Chicago because I know the days of sunshine per year aren't that much different.

    Just a thought

Happy Birthday Laura!   I hope you had a great day!

Voted for Mandy!  That would be awesome if she won!

Wendy -  I have the Wii and love it.  I usually do Wii Sports (I like Tennis and boxing) and the Wii Fit Plus - I like the Island Cycling.  I have heard that the Just Dance games are good.  We just got the Xbox Kinect for Xmas so I do Dance Central on that.  Fun!

Morning!  Still chilly out there....sure wish Spring would hurry up!

Rita....I sent you an email....hope that helps!

Connie....I did get just dance and zumba and they are fun!  I too like island cycle but I tried the kung fu one but my legs never register the kick.  I however did the 2 mile run and then the cycle and then some yoga and then later the dancing.....this morning I hobbled downstairs and took an advil!  I am too old to do all that in one day....I ache in places that haven't been used in years!

Laura.....I hope your birthday was grand!  And don't put away your skis....as soon as you do it will snow!  Is your goat gonna be out this year?  Sure hope its up and running soon...

DH wants to take a road trip today....we are going to head back to the old neighborhood in Chicago for lunch.  Wonder how much that will cost us in gas?????  Have a great Sunday all....

Hey good morning.  Seems better out ( no rain thank goodness ) but chilly.  Its a great day to vote for Mandy.  That will bring some sun out.  I think by the time I save up for a wii they will have to have made one that can be used with a walker --- but that's ok.

One of these days.....I love day trips.  I'm thinking I need some R & R of some kind.  The Rec center has some work connected -- but is a first start.

    Hope you all enjoy today.

    Hugs, Jackie

Shoot, Wendy, my DH and I would have loved to have met you in a Chicago neighborhood.  As it turns out we are going to Glen Ellyn to babysit the grandkids.  If you plan this again, give us a heads up.  We love going to Chicago. My dh is a fun guy.

I voted for Mandy but I don't get the point of unrestricted voting.  If that is the case we could ask for volunteers to take a day and just spend it voting for her on behalf of all of us. all day.  Am I missing some point here?

Jackie, that quote is perfect.  It fits my religious intelligence so well I went to Catholic schools KDG-college.  I will always admit to being a Catholic, but I am sure questioning a lot of 16 years of Catholic education.  I have to admit the last movie I watched was TMC and it was "Going My Way" but my modern movie I liked was "Doubt".

Okay I really want to learn more about the Exercise  WII!  Where can I get one? What do I need?  Should I go to Best Buy? I would love to know which one is really fun.

Larua, I hope you had a great birthday!

Wendy,  Thanks for the info.  I will put it to good use!  Enjoy your day trip.  We love them, too!

Zap, I don't understand the unlimited vote, either, but according to Mandy's original post on Facebook, you CAN vote as often as you want.  I've been doing that and it never turns me down.  It just say, "Thanks for your vote," so unless I hear differently, I'll just keep voting.  I think it would be great to ask some others to vote, too.  Your idea sounds great.  We just have to find that volunteer who wants to sit all day and push those computer keys!

Well I'm off to do some errands and then go to the movies.  We still haven't seen The King's Speech so some of the bowling gals are heading out to do that this afternoon.  Everyone enjoy your Sunday.

Okay... new SE, my eyes were feeling "gooby" and I thought I was fighting a cold, yesterday I noticed a red spot in the white of my eye and today it's a bit bigger.  The only time I've had broken blood vessels in my eye was after labor?

Adey, have you read my posts on what I am dealing with now and that would be

Blepharitis.  i looked it up and it can be caused by the dry eyes that chemo causes.  My chemo was years ago, however, so I doubt it.  I am currently on an antibiotic (cream in the eyes) and he said to get something called "wetting tears" but I have not done that as I want to see if the cream clears it up.  I look like I have been on a binge and I hate it.

He said to stay away from VISENE.  It gets the red out but does not deal with the underlying problem.  Good luck.

On a GOOD note...BLEPHARITIS can be corrected. AND during the process to correct it, some surgeons will "throw in" a complimentary eyelid LIFT! lol Hmmmmmmmmmm...I think I'd appreciate that little bonus. But seriously...I hope you can avoid that extreme situation.

    -----------------------------------------

Thanks again, girls for all the Birthday wishes. Here's how I spent my Birthday:

dh and I attended a fund-raising dinner for a 16 year old girl in our district - her parents are in our 9/12 Patriot group. Our congressional rep attended (her parents helped us with his campaign last summer), as well as many of our friends.

The 16 year old girl was recently dx'd with Lymphoma (non-Hodgkins, but a rare and serious strain) and she is currently going through chemo and has endured several stem cell transplants. She did attend...and I talked to her for quite awhile. She is very bright, and quite articulate. Her parents are great too!

Attendance was estimated at 350+ people!

Can't think of a better way to have spent my Birthday!

    -------------------------------------------

This evening dh and I are meeting my Mom for dinner...celebration continues...

Adey I was getting those blood bursts in my eye (white part) after every chemo in my left eye. I did see a ophthalmologist a few weeks ago and she said it was dry eyes. She recommended eye drops but not the ones that "get the red out".  Zap is 100% correct about this.

I decided to wait on the drops because now that I'm off chemo I'm not as dry. If I get another one I will be doing drops 2x a day as the ophthalmologist recommended.

Susan- You asked about the unrestricted voting for the contest.  I didn't understand that either so I went on the site and it looks like the public voting is 5% of what the judges look at. The other criteria are originality, quality of writing, etc., so I guess it's not just the voting, but I still have friends voting and passing the word :)

Mich, thanks!  I guess at that percentage, voting  would serve as a tie-buster if that was needed.  And it puts all together well for me.

Laura, what are you talking about that a doctor would throw in a lid lift  on the eye?    What I have is on the lower lid and it causes the blood shot eye.   And if  am going to have a lid lift, I would never do it on  one eye?  My face is pretty  symmetrical.  Sorry, but I did not understand that post at

    Have  a great week.

    HI Girls,

Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday. I am so ready for spring as I went to the Garden and Flower show at Navy Pier. It was so beautiful to see all the flowers, trees and water gardens. I did pick up a pair of gardening gloves that feel like your own skin and are washable. I was like a junkie in the garden store as they had so many beatiful garden ornaments. Wanted them all. But in the end I didn't get anything. They all were to heavy to carry..but oh so cute. Then spent the day with my dd hanging out. I was a very fun filled day.

Wendy.... maybe I passed you by downtown. It was not to bad driving down there. Where did you lunch at.

Lago.. are you at Kingsbury by the river. I passed that today too.

Zap...oh I thought I would have seen you at the flower show. They had a beautiful Zen garden with a Buddha set up. I took so many pics of all the arrangements, now I want spring to came. lol

Mich...no luck on the lotion. Will be back in June again. The hunt is still on for it.

Ady..hope your eyes are feeling better soon.

Laura...glad you had a fun filled bday.Fire works and champagne for you!!! lol

Rita...hope you get o see the King's Speech. Great movie. We had our annual boating party last night so boating season is officially one month from now ...so let the count down begin. Have you tried chocolate raspberry wine. OMG it is soooo good. I forgot it was wine it taste so good  and work up with a sl headache this am. Boating parties can get a little crazy.lol

Jackie... great quote. Hope your weather is not to bad by you. Jealous that you will get spring before us up north. Hope those tulips are coming up real soon.

Denise...when are you coming again in June. I could try to meet for lunch as I am out of school then.

Smerf...are you still on vac in the snow hills of Colorado.

To all the others I missed hope you all are doing well. Remember to be healthy...be happy and enjoy life.

It's officially jammie time and then to bed. Sweet dreams .....
