    Good morning to all..

Irene, hugs and hoping you hear from your family soon!!  Keep us posted..

Elf, you will definitely be missed.. but as Laura said.. Once an Illinois Girl, ALWAYS an Illinois Girl! So don't forget us and come back here and post!! Lunch would be great if you can make it!!

I went to a Play last night.. it's been exactly 2 years since I've been...saw Sense and Sensibility.. it was so cute.. and so good!  And since I had sushi for lunch it was overall a great sunny day...

Slowly starting to feel better again.. This trip to Seattle was really rough.. but I'm recovered.. and my toe seems at 90% by now.. so all we need is more good weather...

    Have a great Sat everyone!!

Thinking of you this a.m. Irene with hope about your family.  I was thinking of anyone I might know in Japan and realized that one of my former bosses ( I was a seed analyst at one time for Burpee Seeds )  is from Japan.  Pictures of what happened are hard to look at.

Marina...how great that your foot is so much better.  One less rock in the road.

Elf...I second Marina -- YOU ARE an Illinois gal, period.

It is going to be warm here today, bright with sun and beautiful.  Hope you all have exactly the same.

    Hugs, Jackie

To all with family members in Japan..hope all is well...I too have been watching & praying...

We have a foster son with wife & infant son...in Japan..he emailed us and we had contact through facebook that they are fine.

Such heartbreaking news...for those who have suffered....

Also so sorry of the recently diagnosed Wendy.

Lago...I used to have a dvd of Joyce Verdal years ago and that is when I bought the weights...that has been over 6 or 7 years ago...no longer have the dvd..just the weights...I do have 3 & 5 pound ones so I will start with 3LB.  Why oh Why did I not start her program way back then...maybe I would look like her???   Seriously I just want to be healthy and feel stronger...no need to look like a model.

Prayers to all & have a good weekend.

Denise to look like her you need to work out at least 2-3 hours a day and/or have a very active life. There is no need to look that buff. You will firm up and look better as well as be healthy with out having to work out  at least 2-3 hours everyday!

If you can work up 40- 80 minutes a day you will be doing fine.

We finally heard from our Japanese relatives and they are fine.  Well, as fine as they can be.  They are still terrified, and experiencing after-shocks.  My cousin who lives on the coast said they were told there would be a tsunami warning for at least a month.  My younger cousin works in Tokyo, in a high rise, and she wrote that her building was shaking so hard that she was convinced it was collapsing.  She hid under her desk and cried the whole time.  I can only imagine how scary it is when something like this happens.

Thank you to everyone for the concern.  *hugs*

Rene----- I know you are finally breathing again.  This is all so surreal and now the horrible situation with this nuclear plant. I know the toll will be in the thousands.

Have been so busy with this teaching job.  I am putting one foot in front of the other but I am exhausted! I so look forward to long, lazy days again, although I want to get into better shape as I blame my fatigue to being what Wendy would call lazy butt life style. I took on a number of updating decorating in the house and we all know how expensive that is, so I am glad it took this extra job to pay for it all and then that road trip through New Mexico with DD!  Fun!

    Take care, all!

    Hi all

Irene - glad to hear your family is ok.  Very scary and heartbreaking for all of those people.

Elf - we will miss you!  I wish you nothing but the best on your next adventure!  Hopefully you will still have your hair by the time you get to Oregon.  I did a 7 hour drive once with my kids and that was enough for me!

Wendy - sorry to hear about your niece's friend.  This disease is so unfair.  My kids were 5 and 9 when I was diagnosed so I feel her pain.  All you can think about are your children.  It is just so unfair!  She will be in my prayers.

Glad you are feeling well Marina.

    Hugs to everyone!

Jumping back in to tell Wendy that I am sad about your niece's good friend and prayers are on the way.  The only good thing about bouts of insomnia is that it allows time for prayer and I truly do pray for those I say I will pray for.  I do that and then take Tylenol PM if I need  to work the next day and it is before three in the morning.  Oh,  it is hard being me, but I do get by.

I have faced three BC dx's among friends  in the last three months.  All are Stage II or under, so I am hoping that means that we are just getting the creepy guy sooner and that we are not facing an epidemic. And perhaps I am hearing about it as I am so open abount my own cancer dx so people come to me.

So I am watching Japan with a broken heart.  The whole nuclear adds so much to the worry.  I hope that what I hear is over-reaction on the part of news people who want further drama.  Ironically the earthquake is a violent act of Nature or God (depending on one's belief's), while the nuclear and radiation things is just Man against himself as he tools around with technology.

Sorry, I sound dismal;.  I am actually happy as we do ANOTHER birthday party in Glen Ellyn tomorrow.  We are party hearty in my family.  This would be for DD and the theme is Mexico!  Party City has a great Mexico themed section and we have a Pinata, some great dishes and decorations that hopefully will make us think we are in Mexico when in fact we are in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

Elf... we are going to miss you way out in Oregon.  You must be very busy getting ready for the moving van.  Have a safe road trip.  That will be an adventure!

Rene... so glad that you heard from your cousins in Japan.  It is so amazing how powerful that quake was and how devastating the following tsumani was.  Sure wish they could predict earthquakes like they do tornadoes and hurricanes.  My DH flies that route to Tokyo for AA and fortunately he is not scheduled to go there for another week.  But we have another dear friend who landed there earlier today after being diverted to Anchorage when the quake hit.  It will be interesting to hear what he has to say when he gets back tomorrow.

Wendy... so sorry to hear about your niece's friend.  I just cannot imagine how hard that must be to have such small children and have to go through this experience.  Praying for her....

Brrrrr... so cold and windy today.  I spent the afternoon at a bridal shower so had a good time.. ate too many things on my "NO" list but it was all so good.  Planning a couple hours at the gym tomorrow to make up for it.  Headed into the city on Monday morning for my pre-op testing at Northwestern.  Wondering if the River will still be green????

    Good Sunday morning.

It is sunny here but not too warm.  I will be glad for the sun.  News from Japan is still very, very bad.  Prayers  for all there.

Not much planned for my  day but I think some hard work is in order.  Hopefully it will help me not feel so sad for the recent events across the world.

Hoping you are all having some sun.  Thankful spring is on the way.

    Hugs, Jackie

    Hey Nicki,

I was just thinking about you and wondering what was up.  Good to see you.  How are things going?  Keep coming here.  People are kind and good to each other here. Have a great Sunday.

All with little kids and/or grandkids.  You can get Pinatas for Elmo, Thomas and Curious George among other favorites.  And instead of hitting them with sticks (oh, that would be bad) the kid pulls strings and the stuff drops out with each pull of the string.

Nicki, how splendid to find you here.  I have thought about you a lot and always pray for serenity for you.  You know sometimes life is tough when you feel fine and I know that you path has been quite rocky.  If you feel a big hug while your reading this...it's from me and I'm sure all the other gals are joining in.

    Hugs, prayers, love and peace,

    Jackie

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

    Good morning ladies!

We just got home last night from a wonderful week in Biloxi with some good friends.  We did some golfing, gambling, and dining out!  In fact, we called it our "eating vacation" and now I need to get to the grocery store and bring home some "healthy food."  I looked in the mirror this morning and decided that tomorrow is the day to start getting serious about this.  I'm planning out the weekly menu today, getting the groceries this afternoon, and beginning to work toward that healthy eating again.  I'm also going to start walking again now that the weather is getting warmer.

Oh Elf and Donna.........we are going to miss you!  You'll have to keep in touch because "once you're an Illinois gal, you're always an Illinois gal."

Nicki....... so glad you stopped in.  Come back and a chat a bit.  I think of you often.

Adey, you are just marking those rads off and it won't be long and you'll be a "rad grad!"

Susan, it is good to know about the pinatas!  My youngest grandson is a big Elmo fan!  That sounds like so much fun.

Well, I have a pile of laundry just waiting for me and lots to do around the house so I'd better get going.  I'll log on later and get caught up from the past week.

    Everyone have a good Monday!

Hi everyone. We all ready for this week of warm up? I know I am!

Adey, wow running 1 day a week and on rads. I'm impressed. I started my work outs again. I'm still a bit sore from the Friday weight training. Guess I did a few too many squats and lunges as well as the 50 minute power walks. Stomach isn't too bad though considering all the crunches and leg lifts.

My right eye has lost most of it's lashes and my brows are thinning fast. Fingers still a bit sore but not as bad. I stopped taking my diuretic on Friday as directed and now I'm up 4lbs again. This water retention thing is very frustrating because it's not helping my LE either.

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

I have been sick all day. Very strange symptoms...right shoulder is really painful. Right arm pit very sore too. Right jaw, upper right back and neck too. Low grade temp. Not sure what to think. If this was on the left side, I'd swear I was having a heart attack. I googled my symptoms - a gazillion things of course. A Darvocet did help...but not 100%

Any thoughts? I'm quite miserable and worried.

All- OMG!  My pubes are migrating to my head!  I have a little triangle of dark hair on the back of my head by my neck.  It's hilarious.  I'll try to post a pic.  WTF!  Tongue out

I've posted that on a couple threads as I am amazed... (c:
