Goldie, I see the pic....is that going to be a shade house?  Love all the timber.

Yup, the stove is in it's place and the range hood is in the process...........the only problem is that the gas fitter has not turned up so I don't think I'll be using it tonight!!!!........booo  hooo!  I guess I just have to be patient for a littlt longer.

Chrissy, I am here and looking for you.

Kymn, yippie, your boys are just three games away from bringing some Lord Stanley. I want this for you nearly as much as you do.

We escaped the wicked t-storms this evening although they were north, south and east of us. Fortunately, the systems were very tiny and did not do much harm. Tornados are very rare in these parts but freakishly so, there was a small section in Phila. that was hit by both a small tornado and and earthquake within a few days. So untypical for here, gotta wonder if it was something I did lol, but seriously, it aint no joke as many of me bwest friends can back me on the subject.

Wishing you all well, I am buzzed and just spend an hour trying to figure out the perfect outfit for tomorrow. It would have been easier if I found the left sandal I have been searching for...brand new, never worn and lost one.,..thinking about reporting this to 911, it is an emergency after all, I need that damn sandal, it affects my sanity.

got my suit on and ready to make a big spash, Chrissy hope the crash wakes you up from the hammock, I see you sneaking off for a nappy!!

Quick check in...I am back from the music trip...trip itself was fine; bus ride there and back not so much. 33 hours on a bus. We left Seattle at 4pm Monday and got back to Nebraska Wed morning at 1:00am (plus 2 hour time change)

So many pages to read...will try to catch up in a day or two. However, I am the Bailey's Chocolate Mint gal! And I don't care how many calories...it's mama's li'l helper.

I have blood work and exam Thursday afternoon and last chemo on Friday. Delayed for one week because they allowed me to go on music trip, or I'd be done by now. Am exhausted, but not overly so. I guess labs will tell! Mom and husband going to doctor appointment to hear final info and mom will go to chemo too.  No radiation appointment yet, but am told I will have 2-3 weeks off before that starts. I want to get going on that. It is going to take up my whole summer practically, but has to be better than chemo I hope.

    Now off to bed.

awww Karen, thanks for the well wishes and I look forward to growing old together with you. I have your address and know where to find you. I know your schedule and will just show up at your door to bring you lunch, deal?

So I am still looking for my missing left sandal. I have a cute new outfit to wear to work tomorrow but only recently purchased a brown/bronze pair, took them out of the box and put them somewhere. me swears there were two and have a feeling there has been an abduction of leftly.

Well will start now at showing my friends a little love, sorry negligent lately with keeping up.

Stanz, I hope your stupid sprinkler system peeps have showed up and bixed your problem.

Junie, where'd ya go, Jocks is missing you....or is he scheming us?

NM, super fantab pics as always, If I could do the prep and procedure for you, I would in a heartbeat.

Chrissy, have you yet booked your flight to Laguardia in the fall? DH drives a limo and I could see if he can help. Not sure if we can get the stretch but can probably get a lincoln. It would be super fan-fn-fan-tastic to spend time with you. You are a super cool bwest fwend and that comes fomr the bottom of my heartt...Cool..

Wahine and Claire et al, thanks for the cancerversay (or should I say cancer-adversary) wishes. I am flying high at my progress, Claire would be proud to hear me say "hey, I am alive and well...who cares that I have one implant and one shriveled up mutialted tit"? DorK's glass is usually half full, I try hard AND  succeed for the most part as an eternal optimist.

Might need to edit this, tmi? hmm, if so do tail and I will act civilized the get er bixed!

~~edited to remove raw humor, correct typos etc etc etc, hope you all stillv ove me.

Good Mornin' GIrlzzzz! Eyes still not optimistic (fully opened) yet, but will twy to type. Cafe should be kickin in  soon.  Dang it DorK, I missed the "unadulterated" version....and the neat raw humor...shucks!!! Knew I shoulda stayed up latah. You are such fun, puleez don't edit out the good stuff anymore.....deal? or no deal? Hoping lefty showed up and you could look fantabulous from head to sandal, today! Sooooo glad you are posting more often again....missed you when you were awol.

Speaking of awol....still don't have the full 100% Beans here yet. Sooooo glad you are over that sickie-crap, but puleez come here more often!!!

HUsker, OMG that was one horridly long bus trip. Glad you made it home safely and are almost through with chemo. And that your family will be with you at those last appts. Yippee!!!!  Ans you are right....no worries about the Baileys calories....as long as it does the job! LOL. ANyway, when I checked, it was just 117 cal per shot....not bad at all. That woman had her "facts" wrong, so that is HER loss that she won't dwink it anymore. ANd she was awfully thin anyway.

Stanzie....Claire and I in the same room????  I think it also would be strange with me and Gail in the same room.....cause I think she and I would figure out how to remodel it!! LOL.. AND do it while you all are dwinking. J/K.

Well, close to 100 today, and I need to do a bit of staining outside, so will get going b4 I melt. THen taking my mom to a tea room for a nice lunch. AND a/c guy comes today (well.....you know what I mean!)....and hope he can get it fixed in all this heat. Will be nice to use the treadmill again....no excuses then! (Oh shoot, I can prob think of SOME excuse...lol).

    HUGGLES and SNUGGLES,

Oh NM, I LOVE your mischieveousness! How did you miss the FJ. Here it is again.

Gail, what a great concept "forgetting to get sick"! That would have really pissed me off,  someone tipping me cuz my hair wasn't wet.

That was you I heard all the way over here Kathy? WOWSA! I was so expecting you to say, since you were in flip flops, that you did something to your toe! Cute dog story/joke....of course we thought the end would be to marry a man.

DorK, hardly ever are you "all about me", and remember it was YOUR RULE....NO SORRIES! We are entitled to "me" moments. Congrats on 1 year. So sad about your little man, but glad to hear you won't let him suffer. That will be a hard time for you.

Kathy, I was like you.......I was sure mine was not cancer. I had had a biopsy before, on the other breast, it was calcifications, so I was certain mine was something other than cancer, especially when the doctor told me not to worry about it, that it was just an enlarged lymph node!

Yes Junie, we did have a pig latin week! I am gonna say it was Dee that started it, but really can't remember. And Kathy you mention about being on page 506 already, I can remember when it would take us a couple days to fill a page!

Chrissy, glad you got your stove. If there is no one in the pool, I'm sure NM will take care of that.........or me!

DorK, love the license plate HTL! How cool was that? Now you know if you call 911 on that sandal, like all the others.......they will just hang up on you! LOL.

Welcome home Husker, glad it didn't do a number on you. YES rads are easier, MUCH EASIER. You might get the fatigue, usually at the end of the week, but then you re-coop over the weekend. But like with chemo, if you are tired, REST, or will catch up with you and bite you in da butt!

The back is a fence, but it is an old west town front. The black smith is my green house, an actual building and The Shady Lady Hotel will be in two sections. The back half will be for seating, we will end up putting some windows in back there too, and it will have a pellet stove in it to heat and we will pipe some of that heat into the green house, for fall and early winter growing. The front half will have the grill and LOTS of flowers and our auto pots (which we are growing tomatoes in) that is what you see on top of the white barrels. It is a gravity fed system. I'll post the pictures later, as my connection in the house is too weak and will take forever, and I have already been here for over an hour!

Husker....congrats on being at last chemo.  Rads are a piece of cake.  Hardest part for me was staying still.  I was dragging towards the end, but got out cycling anyway.

Hope you got to see a bit of Seattle.  I love it here.  Some clear skies over the weekend, so the mountains were out.  So gorgeous when they are.  (Unlike this morning which has low clouds.)

Hard to imagine 90 degree temps.  Right now, I would much rather be in a hot tub than a pool.

Kathy.....hoping the AC guy comes sooner as opposed to later.  I get the need for a pool.

Chrissy.....enjoy your new range when it comes.  The only thing I miss about the house I left (well, the spring flowers and lilacs).  I had a glass top and a convection oven.

Which brings me to: how do I clean the oven without setting off the smoke detectors????  Suspect I need to disconnect them.  I know to expect smoke clouds.  Perfect day to do this as cool, but can open windows.  Heaven knows it's high time.  Will be the last major cleaning item as scrubbed the bathroom floor yesterday on my hands and knees.  (Oven is in much greater need.)

Made progress on the job front yesterday, so have several targets.  Now, to get my resume out.  Finally came together in how to position myself/describe what I bring to the table.  My former business partner is pushing me above where I know I am, but keeps me from underselling myself.  I finally explained to her where I fit.  So has worked out.

The other exercise I did was visioning my life 8 months from now.  Nothing about BC in it, other than the odd oncology visit.  It's all about new accomplishments, learning, building a team, reshaping my wardrobe to match my new life, travel, skiing in new places, new friends, and doing more cool stuff.

I can't wait to get there. - Claire

Claire - it is cool??? What is cool? Don't remember that word at all. Yesterday it almost hit 100!!!!

Claire, I have the same problem with my oven but I don't dare open windows....

Kymn- I agree with the rest - You had to say exactly where you stand and what you need. We are all proud of you expecially as how hard it is with everything you are in the middle of right now!

    Husker - Welcome back!

Dork - happy canserversary! I know you have had some rough times with your hubby. Can't begin to understand how anyone can't adore furbabies though. Sorry one is not doing well.... I can't even go there yet - still to soon for me will start crying...

WHAT? Beanglish is piglatin? Well!!! If only I had know - huff!  LoL! I'm really just wondering how long it takes to think and type it all out, personally.

Goldie!!!!! That is one of the most amazing things I have seen! Really totally fabulous. My cousin lives in Arizona - so you can really grow lots of stuff out there? I have only been once and as I flew in a I watched with horror and facination as a huge dust storm fell over the cliffs into Phoenix. Never will forget that sight. I remember the other part you built, what last year but this is really amazing! I'm so impressed. What all will you grow? I so wish I had enough sun to grow vegetables. The first year I moved here I planted some tomatoes out by the pool and they were amazing, then the next three years didn't get anything as the critters got them all or took big bites out and make them icky. So haven't tried since. My neighbors have tons of sun and are out of the county so they said I can raid their garden. The lettuce is what amazes me. - It lasts forever being totally fresh. Anyway, so impressed and can just see you driving along in that fabu car!

AStorm - hope no one pushed you over - I'll have get the bouncer on them. Hope you are doing alright!

Kathy- yes the storms are so scary and now we get into Hurricaine Season!

Junie - yes it is the Anniversary of GWTW! I hate they tore down the wonderful Old Lowes Theatre where it premiered, actually it burned but they could have should have built it back. Going on Friday night to a GWTW play and then on Sunday I take one son to camp, piano recital for daughter, and the other son and I go to see Spamalot while DD goes to a Barmitzvah. Busy weekend! Karen, it is multiples of 9 for gifts, yes? They went to tons of Bar and Bat Mitzvah's and now it has been a while and can't remember.... Also my friend's daughter gets here for the summer to stay in the guest house! And fixing roof , fireplace which is leaning into the room and morter all around the pool which has come loose?? Whew!!!

NM - Thank you so so so much for The Pig Latin cocktail yesterday! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was trying to figure out how to say ROFLMAO in ig-pay atin-lay!! Your posts are just a delight, so thanks again for making me laugh so much!!

I lost two posts yesterday, so hoping this one goes...I was in Oregon in a motel yesterday and having Internet problems

Dorthy - Gigantic congratulations on your 1 year cancerversary and I'm toasting you for many many many more!!

I will say there's a lot going on lately and yesterday I found out one of my closest friends got a cancer dx. Not BC but any cancer sux. So I will be spending some time with them. I would not wish this disease on anyone! I'm doing better for sure and slowly feel myself coming back. I keep having one little stupid sh*t-a$$ thing after another though. At least these have been LITTLE, comparatively speaking. I have a goal to get through June without one doctor appointment!!! Yeah! So far, so good as of June 2!!! Hooorraayyy!

Here are a few pics from the land development...

    Grading driveway and building site:

Finished pad...now waiting for septic to go in, electricity and phone and water system (too bad it's been so rainy and sh*tty, usually by June we have glorious weather with cobalt blue skies and tons of sun):

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. I'm really doing so much better and just hope it lasts (at least for one month)! I promise to get caught up this week as I care about you ladies so much and I miss so much when I don't know all that is going on with you...However, as Junie pointed out, you are with me all the time and I see things that make me crack up in my daily goings-on that we've made jokes about here, like the foil ball. I am eternally grateful to you for this joy!

    Cheers!!

So sorry about your friend.... hope you can make your month without Dr. apt. So far mine might be in the fall ... hope to have revision surgery and nose revision surgery so.... Ick!

Beans......sun should appear tomorrow!  Looks just gorgeous.  So sorry about your friend.

Stanzie.....did you fall on your face too many times???  This happened to a friend of mine back in the day.  Finally, her nose didn't work any more.  So she had it replumbed.

For those who don't believe me, it's in the low 50s here in Seattle with low clouds.  However, should be sunny and high 60s over the weekend with long, glorious summer evenings.

I need to get my resume to a couple of places on my list.  Plus remind the people I interviewed with last week that midweek is here.  Dragging with this cold thingie.

Have to say that nice not to be visiting doctors regularly any more.  Next appointment is my dentist, so back in that groove.  Past all the major dental work too.

On to the rest of my life now.  So funny how I realized one day last month that I really was through everything.  Just like that. - Claire

You look absolutely beautiful! I love your avatar, you look gorgeous and so happy. I just love when we post our real pictures. I always get sorta shy and also get tired of looking at my mug. But I love seeing everyone else...hey, when is wahine going to post a new pic of her gorgeous self?

That's nice you don't have to worry about any apts till fall. I will probably have ovaries out late fall or early spring. I hate surgery so not looking forward to this, but I hear it's a quick easy surgery. I would be better off having uterus out too, but that is a longer surgery and recovery.

Claire-around here they call it death by accidental drowning and it's a potential problem all year as the ocean temp rarely gets to 50. Hypothermia can start in about 20 minutes in the summer. Not as fast as with snow melt river water, though! Good luck with the networking, Now that you know what to look at you are one big step closer!

Kymn-Glad you had a good heart-to-heart talk, even if it was difficult. Perhaps there is hope for him, but as you say time will tell. And remember we are always here for you as you work through this!

Wahine-check with places that sell kayaks, some will have a small pond where you can try out different boats. Some places have "demo" boats you can rent for a day to try out. My other 2 bits of advice-get and WEAR a life vest while paddling, it's too easy to hit your head on a low branch or if you get dumped Get one with a small pocket that zips closed, it's handy for putting a cell phone (in a ziplock baggie) and your car keys if you are going out somewhere. AND, use permanent marker to put your name, address, phone number and name/phone # of an emergency contact on the inside of your kayak when you get it. The info in invaluable to the Coast Guard and Inland Fish and Game folks when they find a floating boat (kayak or canoe). They can tell at once if it's the one they are looking for in a search, it also allows you to get it back if it drifts off and gets lost.

AStorm-your welcome, any tine that I'm not napping in one! And I do NOT want to smell that kittie's breath! YUCK! Spider in a roll? NO WAY! You are sick puppy!

Wahine-LOL at the "adopt a dog" bit! Too funny!

DorK-- CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 1 YEAR CANCERVERSARY!!!!!!
That first year is a difficult one, and you've done a masterful job of getting through it! Good for you! I'll join you in the chapel for a prayer of gratitude for all the good that is going on with all of us. Sorry to hear about your oldest furbaby, it's hard when they are aging and you know what is coming, and trying to determine when it's time to do the ultimate act of kindness. But as long as he is happy and eating his treats and seems to enjoy life, keep going, antibiotics and all!

Wahine-Tornadoes in Mass, Tornado warnings in Easter Central Maine last night. This morning it's still rumbling out there from time to time. Crazy weather, but at least it's warm!

Junie-Weiner's "answer" to the question makes me wonder what he is hiding. If he didn't, just say so! If he did, man up, admit, apologize, move on. The more you try to hide, the worse it gets! I actually saw Gone With the Wind when it was on TV a few years ago, spent a snowy Saturday, took all day to watch it! Great movie, though.

Godlie-I see it! Nice looking place!

Chrissy-Don't swim laps too hard, that would be healthy thing to do and we'er not into that here in the lounge! And if someone does have HTL on their license plate, FESS UP!

Karen-we all have days when we can't keep on track with the postings. Personally, I cheat, I put the lounge up on one side of the computer screen and a word doc up on the other, and can type response while looking at the posts! Regular Beanglish is kind of phonetically typed, sounding out the letters helps, once you get started it starts to kick in. The last round, though, was pig latin. But maybe we need to set up a translation service for when we are too buzzed or just plain to drunk to cope?

Husker-You survived! YAY! Jocks has a special supply of Bailey's Chocolate Mint he's been saving just for you! Treatment does tend to steal our summers. I lost 3 summers to the miserable beast. Congrats on the upcoming last treatment! WTG!

Goldie-cute FJ. Does FJ stand for anything in particular?

Wow-lots to catch up on this afternoon! And I did start catching up while it was still morning, BTW!

    DOTD: Tornado Recipe

    1 oz Vodka
    1 oz Tequila
    1 oz Rum
    1 oz Whiskey
    3 cubes Ice
    1/2 tbsp Sugar

    Directions
Mix everything except cola, sugar and ice in a glass. Stir in the sugar, add ice cubes, and pour in coca-cola. Stir three times.

NM - Oh your explanation of beanglish has me on the floor snorting again! Nearly spit my coffee...yes and there can be things like, apology would be more like "appopollyloggies" and if you're tired you would say you were "ty-ty," or maybe "tie-tie" or if you had too many martinis you would say you had "tee many martoonis" or "tee many margatoonis" if you got funcused about what you had been dwinking. And finally, if you were doing breakfast networking you would def show up unshaven in your p.j.s. Love the Tornado Cocktail, thanks so much for all LOL LOL LOL!!!

    Hi Kymn,

You take the first letter of the word off, so for pig, you would say "ig" then the end is the first letter of the word with an ay at the end, so pig is "ig-pay." And latin is "atin-lay." He he he he! Now I'm just certain I got the backwards writing from Hunkydory though, I think she was the one who started "sreehc" as backwards of cheers.Smile

Stanzie, yes I can grow stuff, but let me tell you, it is a chore! The fence was built because of the critters! They loved my flowers and veggies...was a buffet for them! I still have others to deal with, but I manage, and will leave it at that!

Here is the rest of the pictures, sorry so many...I can delete.

Gray smoke plastic panels for this one side and half of the roof, the other half of the roof is tin. This side will get windows installed too, so we can see out.

Still need to frame up the top and get a door.

    Looking in the door.

Standing in the doorway, looking to the left. I was grilling, so looks smoky!

Back of the room, will be putting a pellet stove in that corner.

SEERHC.........will catch up with everyone else in the morn!

NM, from what I can gather the "F" has something to do with an engine and the "J" is for jeep. I just learned this myself!

Beans, I ‘m getting so excited to see the cabin. Thanks for sharing, this is going to be so much fun! Great job on ‘splaining the Pig Latin. And NM, did a great job ‘splaining Beanglish! And you look like a ball on a pin ball machine with all that bumping you did earlier......you wuz makin me dizzy!

Well...........wasn't much to catch up on, so I did it this evening.

While everyone else is drowning in rain, or devastation with tornadoes, Arizona is having wild fires! And not good when we are under wind advisories. The air is very smoky here and you can smell the smoke, even tho the fires are hours away (in driving) no danger for us, thank goodness! Hope you all have a pleasant evening! I am off to the pewl!

As for the jeep, and the F having to do with the engine...is that what I'm thinking? or way off? Hope you don't get any wild fires...that's usually a problem in these thar hills too but so far it's been way too wet this year. We get a lot of electrical storms in the summer and it can set off fires in the mountains. One year we started to evacuate, got all out important stuff in the cars and ready to go, but fortunately the volunteer firemen (you've seen the pic, right?) got it out.

Lori!!!!! Wow the most amazing thing I have ever seen! I love it!! Gosh I'd be inspired to grow something if I had that! I'm a little confused is all if it yours - meaning the Sherrif  and such?

Claire - When I first read your post about falling on my face I thought you were referring to my Avatar :( but then I figured it out. Labor Day 2009 I had a hard encounter with a screen door - the wood part and broke my nose. No it wasn't the first time but it was bad. So went and thought I had it fixed but I cannot breathe properly I get no air on my left side and very little on the right side. Then I got BC so didn't do anything but it is awful and it is still crooked which isn't nice. So VERY nervous about doing more surgery on my nose as I've been told it is very delicate surgery and doing revisions is very tricky so worried. Also the Dr who has the most experience wants all the $$$$ upfront! They have a deal with a company you can take out a 1 year no interest loan but still!!! So worried about it very much.

Now I can't remember any more so.... more later or tomorrow....

PS - NM the tornado drink is truely amazing!

Chrissy--Nice stove, and I love the hood!  I can see why you're so excited!  What are you going to cook first?

Goldie--What a great place!  Makes me want a greenhouse more than ever.  You are doing a great job with the construction.  It's going to be an amazing place when you're all done.

Beanie--the bumping is part of the fun--it makes for fascinating conversations, very entertaining!  (just between you and me, I can interpret Beanglish because it's a lot like drunken NMish!  But don't tell anyone what my secret is, people will think I'm a deavy hrinker, ah, Pants!  Next one please!.

Stanzie--Now I have this picture of you with a big red clown nose.  I'm sure that is just my imagination!  It must be hard not to be able to breathe through your nose easily, that would drive me just wonky!  If the damage was from an injury, won't insurance cover it as a repair/return to functional status rather than as a cosmetic procedure?  Or is it just that your nose doc doesn't take insurance? AT least then you would get reimbursed.

Claire--you've tagged our HD perfectly!  Good job!

Karen--Happy Shabbat!  Enjoy the company and the worship!

Did anyone remember that the Tornado drink is the very first DOTD recipe I ever posted, way back when the world was young and God was a child?   I've been looking for a good excuse to post it again for a while, but maybe I should see how long I can go without using it in the future!

    Southern Maine tornado damage, 2005

This am I'm working on a borrowed netbook, little tiny thing, bit of a pain.  Both other laptops are activiely dying, although I'm trying to reset the Averatec.  Just cannot afford a new computer right now, but I'm begging to think I need to figure out how to pay for one anyway.  Or maybe a really cheap desk top model.  I'll have to think about it since I really want to get my car paid off by the end of July.  SDtill, it works and I am grateful for that.

Start my first weekend on duty at 4 pm.  Not sure if I'll be on much over the weekend, have to wait and see what the schedule looks like and how many calls I get.  LIstening to the news this am, apparently there have been 2 or 3 tornados here in Maine in the last few days,  a somewhat frightening thought. I can deal with hurricanes and blizzards, but unannounced tornados?  Yikes!

    1 tbsp Orange Juice
