Chrissy, Oh that is GORGEOUS!!!! I totally love your range hood.....so stunning. Here, a lot of us have microwaves over the range, so that means no pretty range hoods! And your first meal on it sounded sooooooo yummmy....congrats! Really beautiful.

NM, I am getting pretty used to the tiny netbook, although I do hit the wrong keys more often, and then the posts go  *poof*. BUT there have been some nice 15-17" laptops for under $400 lately. DH got a nice Toshiba and it is really great. Just gotta search all the deals sites. Amazes me how prices have come down so much, and computers and hardwarea are "disposable" now. My kids get that concept much more than I do....I think they should last years and years! Wow, didn't realize you had posted the tornado dwink before. Hope we never need it again!!!

Karen, you are such a busy cook! I think Shabbat is great because you focus on family and religion every weekend, and I would think that would also bring your family closer. And nice that you are sharing with friends too!

Beannie, SO glad you are posting more! I always miss you when you are awol for awhile. Sorry you had the icky stuff, but hope you are totally well now!!! And the cabin site looks so fantastic, peaceful, beautiful. Will be worth the wait.

DorK, Did you ever find "lefty"??? Think I will lounge in your pool while you are at work...looks very inviting!

Junie, Are you ready for company AGAIN? Puleez do not overdo, and let your DD help YOU, okay? When is your DH leaving? We need to all sneak over for another lampshade partay, but only after DD and g'dau are in dreamland....do not want to give them the wrong impression.....LOL. I am getting my lampshade ready as I type.....

Going to babysit g'kids this morning, and taking my mom with me. Really too hot to work outside right now. BUT.....we have a cool upstairs again!!!! Yippee!!! Unreal how they had to replace so much of the unit, but the company has not recalled them. Me thinke we need to write a long letter about this, as it was def the companies fault by using too thin copper....caused a gazillion leaks on new heatpump...apparently many, many units have been affected. We replaced both units at the same time, and I guess are "lucky" that the downstairs one has been working well. Sheesh!!!

Lori, Love all the pics...totally looks awesome, and I love how you use facades, and can make such useful and neat areas. Very creative!!!   Hmmmmmmm when the weather is nice and mild, we should all show up for a big Wild West Party!!!!

    Cheers Chicas,

    Kathy

Beans, I just googled "what does fj mean" and that is what I found out. The F is something to do with the engine and the J means jeep. Thank you everyone for the comments on the picture and NM, so sweet of you to make a drink called "Goldies Cabin", I only wish we had a cabin. It will be a year of so before we finish. We pretty much just have weekends (except for winter) to work on it, and it seems we are gone half of those. Speaking of....we are heading out again, I think next weekend, need to go down to Phx.

Stanzie, I'm confused. Are you asking if the entire town is mine? If so Yes. It is our fence. However we live on 80 acres so we really could build an entire town!

Ditto what NM said about the stove Chrissy, very neat hood!

Pretty quiet evening here! We are off to town in a bit. NM, I hope you have a pleasant working weekend! No worries about showing up during this time, you know we will be here, you will just have tons to catch up on!

    Good morning LadieZ!

NM.....pix remind me of trees down about 20 years ago along the Taconic Parkway in NY State south of Albany.  Fortunately, the damage was away from settled areas, but the trees went over like match sticks.  I think the woods have healed now.

Goldie.....just love what you have done.  I think I stayed in a renovated "Shady Lady Hotel" last year when I did the Seattle-to-Portland.  Great fun.

Chrissy.....I can see why you were excited to get everything in place.  Now, just cook up a storm.

I did a virtual wine party last night for my friend Nadine.  The plan was to talk to her from the wine bar.  However, I didn't check cell phone coverage, so missed her call.  Everyone toasted her new gig.  So a major success.  We had a backup plan to connect later today so will get to talk to her too.

Sunny here this morning, and promised through the weekend.  So glorious here when the sun comes out.

NM.....good luck as you ease into your new gig!!!  Major, major exciting times.

Kathy......I would try to get some money back on the defective heat pumps.  SHEESH!!!  Congrats on being cool again.

Talk to all of you later.  I overdid the wine bar last night.  Tasted some off wine (which is going back to the producer.....bartender wanted to be sure) and then had a free glass of champagne (had to finish so wouldn't go flat) in addition to the regular wine.  So came home, ate, and went straight to bed.  Wisest move.

But "wine tasting" at its finest! - Claire

Lori - Wow, 80 acres!!! Makes me tired just thinking about it but I'm sure it is just beautiful! Gosh I bet you see some amazing stars! What a lovely way to spend your life.... Seems very serene and sounds like you are so happy there with your hubby.

Claire - how are you this morning? What? Of of course she can't hear me she is off on another 20 mile bike ride.... hard to imagine with the heat we are having down here....

Chrissy - fabulous stove/oven I have a similar one but yours is bigger and of course a lot newer! Glad you are having fun with it and sounds like your family is very happy with what is produced.

Had my hair straighted and can't wash it till Sunday and it is driving me bonkers. As I can't pull my hair aside and get it out of my face as it needs to be kept straight - smells icky too! Should be worth it and easier to manage for the summer though.

Bike ride will be later, as have some networking/job search work to do first.

I am so psyched that my hair is getting thick again.  Wasn't when it initially grew in, but I appear to be at a place where it is growing normally again, so shiny, a bit wavy, and thick.  YAY!!!!

Stanzie.....you are a better woman than I am to put up with glop on your head for three days.

Bet you really can't imagine that I am wearing a turtleneck and have windows open.

Anyway, I need to get back to work.  Will pass on even dog beers for a while.  BottomZ up.

Want to eat at your place this weekend Chrissy.  Bet the eats will be super great as you show off all the features of your new range. - Claire

Well hopefully I'll make the 3 days. Worst part is I'm supposed to go out to dinner and to the Margaret Mitchell play. At least in the theatre it will be dark but at the resturant.... Our wonderful friend/babysitter came to pick up my son for a "lunch date" before he goes off to school. She just kept looking at me saying wow you sure do look different.... somehow I don't think she means in a good way..... Ack. So hot hot hot and did I mention it is hot here?

Oops, didn't realize it's Fess Up Friday. Think I'll go hide in the pool.

Karen - yuz can no unnerstanz beanglishes? May bee yuz shud dwink moor.

Kristy - YAY! Hope you feel up to celebrating. I'm one of those people who forgets unpleasant things quickly... After I gave brith the first time I started calling everyone I knew and telling them how AWESOME the birth was. My midwife laughed at me because she was still sewing me up. One of my friends asked if it hurt and I calmly said, "oh, yeah, it hurt pretty bad..." another one asked what kind of drugs they gave me, umm, nothing... anyway I hope you are on top of the world and forgetting about all the ickiness already.

NM - oh, no wonder I've always like Hurricanes! I knew about the rum but the rest is really yummy too! I'll have a Goldie's Cabin too, boys. Wish I got the self-cleaning model! Mine has a cleaning setting but it doesn't clean the glass on the door. I've had it several years now so it was getting pretty gunky... until last week when I finally had time to really clean it.

Chrissy - ooo, very perty range and hood. I got my nice range a few years and just love it but my broiler isn't working so I should call the repair man...

Lori - awesome town you are growing there... what's the name of the place?

Well we went out for Mexican food last night and i didn't even want a margarita. That martini last weekend really knocked me for a loop! I'd much rather hand out here with your ladies!

Happy fried-dey! What a week, so glad it is over. I am pondering working the weekend. I stayed through 7pm tonight and got a lot done later in the day. I am so busy that I never got through all my email and am a day behind. I should go in but really want to enjoy the weekend, work in my yard and do some Spring cleaning. I wish I could find Gazoo and have him make a double of me, one to work and the other to stay home. Hmmmm....Anyway, this is my Pau Hanna, anyone still drinking?

If I lose another post, I am going to be angry.  I am trying to figure out how to split the screen other than minimizing the two windows, can't seem to get the screen to show enough of the text. NM, can you tell me how you split your screens?

NM, loved your pics as always, I would like to try to do what you do just once! I hope you are able to find time for yourself and also make money. Sorry about your computer issues but that pic of your PC made me laugh.  Sorry about the tornados, sometimes I think God is just plain mad at us, the weather justs gets more extreme with each passing year.

Astorm, I think you are my only bweast fwend that is in direct danger of hurricanes. I hope that the season spares the world of any weather monsters. I envy that you are within walking distance of the beach and in such a beautiful area but not the scare of tropical systems.

Lori, I am in awe over the little town on your little piece of America. It makes me cave seem so inferior. You really do have a talent.

Beanie, so nice to see you back, I miss you when you are not around. When I first joined here, I have to say that it was you and Wahine that kept me coming back here. Once I met you gals, I ditched my other breast friends as I knew that this was the thread for me. and lmao, I had not realized that you were talking pig latin beanglisics. We have a language line at work for interpretation and I was upset that they could not help me with translation from beanglish to english lol.  And was it you who wrote the beautiful words about how us loungettes are such an awesome group? I found your words so touching and so true. I am not a good writer and lack a great vocab (was first and only in my family to graduate college, including cousins. My parents highest education was 8th/10th grade)...sometimes I feel stew-pit! I nearly flunked technical writing in college. Oh rambling I am.

Wahine, can't believe you have the ability to stain and work outdoors in 100 degree weather.  I hope the visit with your parents was nice today. I will look for you at the lounge.  Still wondering about the visitor at my office complex with the plate HTL. I looked to see if anyone here had that name. I also called security to find out the names of visitors on that day, they hung up on me!

Chrissy, congrats on your new stove - your kitchen looks so cozy, wish  I could wiggle my nose and be there for breakfast!  I am excited at the prospect of spending time with you. You love dogs, right?

Kristy, congrats on the end of the devil dance aka chemo. I give you such kudos for taking that long bus trip with the kids while suffering the se's of the devil.   I am having Pants send you a Bailey's, cheers. I am proud of you. Try to stay close, I missed ya.

Kymn, hope you are feeling better both physically and emotionally. I will be watching hockey with you. DH is also cheering your team on, bring that cup to your Cunucks. I want to drink out of it and will have the officials fill it with rye and diet.

Claire, glad your hair is coming in so nicely. I want to see your avatar with a close up of you.

Stanzie, did you have surgery on your nose? Poor girl, I hope you recover quickly and have great results. Your profile pic is really nice, you look like a classy hot blonde. I agree with whomever said that we should all have pics of our faces. I would put one up but each time I take one, the camera lense breaks hehe.

Who am I missing? I have been back n forth typing this since 8pm, time to hit send before I lose this....let's party, I have a leopard lamp shade on and am ready to dance! Who's in?

We can dance, partay, dwink, whatevah we want to do....I'm in! Hmmmm.....go to work tomorrow or stay home.....hmmmm....no brainer to me...I would stay home! You have put in soooo many hours at work, I think you should recharge over the weekend....but that is just my 7 cents worth (inflation). Such nice words to me and Beans....and so glad you discovered this thread so many moons ago....you are such a great gal, and I am so glad to have you as one of my bweastest fwiends. Well, I already lost this long post and had to start over again, so won't write tooo much more. Oh you mentioned me working in the 100 degree heat...I try to just do some at a time. ANd tonight I put a 2nd coat on the railing section I am working on, and it was after 8 when I came in! And those darn bugs BETTER NOT stick to my paint....or....I just might ask you to send someone over to get riddah them. That really is weird about the HTL license plate!!!

Well DorK, if no one else shows up that means we have Pants and Jocks to ourselves! Which one do you want?????

@!!!)***!!!.......I, too, lost another post....totally operator error on my part.  So, nutshell recap--------Chrissy, love your stove--not familiar with the brand or its fab features but sounds ike you will do some serious cooking on that baby!  Love the range hood.   I never had time to cook so when I retired, one of the things I loved about this house was its big kitchen.   What I discovered is that I don't like all the shopping/chopping/dicing/slicing/the this and the that that go into making a fab meal......and, I don't care much for cleaning up the dishes after either.

Will share a fav easy cake recipe......a box of Angel Food Cake Mix and a 16 oz. can crushed pineapple.   Mix together well, spray baking pan; 30 minutes at 350 or until top gets nicely browned.   Great as is and can be  spiffied up all kinds of ways.....great with a scoop of ice cream; any kind of fruit sprinkled on it; choc sauce or Magic Shell drizzled over it--alone--or with anything else--have even had it with Almond Tequilla drizzled over the top.   Know it's an old recipe and all of you may have it, but if not--give it a try.

Dau and g/daus will be here tomorrow....I'm so anxious to see them.   DH has grocery shopped til he dropped--think we can feed Cox's army for a month......and, I've cyber-shopped til I dropped ordering the kids so many outfits.   Made the mistake of telling dau that she needed to stay until the order arrived!   We've sold our boat so bought a summer season pass to our development pools.    They are really nice and while our kids prefer the lake, the grandkids prefer the pool, and the grandkids rule now!

Getting ready for the par-tay at junie's!   DH leaves Monday afternoon...I'm already missing him but am gonna have a great time at the HTL, visiting with my dau, and the par-tay on the deck!!!   Where's the bus???  Need it gassed and likkered up to go pick everyone up!    Seriously--I asked DH this afternoon if he could power-wash the deck/furniture before he left.  And, he is looking forward to the kids' visit, but said he thought everything on the deck was fine; I might need to windex off the glass tops.......and, I seriously told him--forget about the kids--the HTL is coming for a PAR-TAY while you're gone............he thinks I have lost my mind!!!!    Especially after I showed him the pic of the dog that I posted.   Was telling him about the Pet Park and that Pancho comes all the time with me to the HTL and he plays with Sadie and Molly and Maverick..........and poor DH  (even though he has met in person a lot of ladies I've met here...)  says to me---"You guys are living in a fantasy world".....and all I could think of to say is--congratulations, you finally understand!   He didn't really, but he's on the right track--the HTL in itself is a fun, fantabulous, wonderful fantasy.   But the people who inhabit that world are as real as anything can be.     I do not know what I would do without you all to keep me sane!

I'm babbling---big huggsss to ALL......I've been hiding out in a hammock poolside and haven't been dumped, splashed on yet--you guys are pwetty dwunk to not cee me.   (one of these days I'll get Beanglish down!)     Hey!   Does anybody know "Carny Talk"?   PM me if you do and teach me.......met a couple who, as a joke started babbling and it was like pig latin but different...and, like pig latin, it was hysterical.

Jocks, darlin' more dog beers, please!         Have much more to jabber about but the sheets are talking to me!

Gawd Junie, you sure hide well....since your outfit totally matched the hammock fabric, you were almost invisible! I googled "carny talk" and all I came up with was circus vocabulary....lots of words that mean different things, but not like what you mentioned. Would be neat to find out! So funny about you wanting DH to clean off the deck for US!!! LOL. Yes, it is a wonderful fantasy world, and I don't think the guys will ever get it! But as long as we have lotsa fun together, and support each other, thats all that matters. That cake sounds really good! So ALL you add is the cake mix and pineapple??? In a regular cake pan or angel food pan? I just might try it.

Well, since the *poof* disappearing post gremlin has been around lately, I am afraid of typing too long, or he will hit my post again. So gonna say "nitey nite" now.....grab some Baileys Choc Mint and have a nightcap with Husker....

    right back at ya, Kathy!

when is the bus coming to pick us up for Junie's partay? I can't wait. I have a lampshade picked out already. And Junie, you had me lmao in telling DH to clean up for us. I loved your response about our fantasy world....sometimes we all need to live a fantasy life and this is the place to do it.

Can't wait to see you Junie, I bet we outlast the other girls. I will bring my make up bag and we will paint their faces as they crash out hehe.

thanks kathy for talking me outta work today, I just can't bear to see those walls again today, maybe tomorrow I will pop in. I only work a half day on MOnday as I see my PS and will figure out if it is time to get the dreaded tissue expander in now or wait. As long I can finish in the calendar year, I will be happy. I don't want to start again with another mf'n deductable. I am so torn, if I go out on disability, I may lose my new connections. If all goes well, I could probably be back in a week and avoid disability. what to do.....I feel so great, have full range of motion and am not in the mood to get tampered with again. I have asked God and will ask Dr. John, the medicine man and hope to come up with the right thing to do.

Junie, I can't believe I missed you in my ramble last night about all you gals, Sorry, I just went through the pages and did not see anything from you. It does not mean I love you less, I love you muchliest! So what time is that parTay? I called the htl reservations line for the bus and shit, they hung up on me too.  Makes me say hmmmmmm......

Awwww...DorK...I will make phone calls for ya if you want....but then again they might hang up on me TOO! I think the HTL bus will be picking us all up tomorrow? So we can be there Monday? OR  maybe Monday morning would be better for everyone....then they can skip work! YAY! As far as losing your contacts when you get the expanders, is there any of that work that you can keep up with at home? Providing the surgery goes well (and I am confident it will), you might be able to do some computer work and phone work a couple of days later. OR maybe tell your good contacts what is going on, and how you hate to lose them so could they just wait a couple of days till you can feel like conducting business again? AND how about if your surgery is scheduled late THurs or early Fri, and you can recuperate over the weekend? Just trying to think of some options, as I know you want to get this done asap.

Oh, oh, we will have to be verrrrry careful and not pass out till after you and Junie do, so you won't paint weird stuff on our faces! LOL. You little devil, you! J/K, you know that. I have my lampshade packed too....boy is it big! Cannot wait....PARTAY, PARTAY, PARTAY!!!!

    Girlz Just Wanna Have Fun!!!!

I just picked up the most beautiful lampshade for Monday. I am having feelings of guilt as I know that it would be proper to leave the shade with Junie but but but they only had one and i want to bring it home. Would you girls gossip about my lack of manners if I brought it home?

Watching hockey in my yard, Kymn's boys are up.... I will drink to that, cheers!

Kathy, I can give you the telephone numbers/emails addies of my clients and tell you what to say, my sister used to assist me when I was super busy. I would just give her a list of clients email addresses and a script to send and walaa, she was portending to be like me and did an awesome job. I now have an assistant so no longer need my sis..thanks though, Risque for offering. I will share my shade privately if you share yours. I bet mine is mightier hehe!! Can't wait to see you galies.

Anything happening in the htl? I don't see anyone but I am party dwunk here and do not have my contact lenses in (dangerous thang)...

    Go Kymn's boys go.

Hi girls...would love to party with you but am soooo tired today that all I want is to sleep in the hammock. I can hold the Bailey's choco/mint and hope I don't spill it (otherwise someone might steal it-ha!), but doesn't even sound good right now.

Quick update on bus trip...we were on a tour bus, not a school bus thank god! But not much better. We drove all the way through with stops every four hours. Three bus drivers, all retirees who couldn't seem to drive the speed limit ever. Lots of flooding in Montana so some spots where we drove through water or got rerouted. First night was Vancouver...at the border all the sponsors had to get off and individually talk to the guards. Kids' passports were individually scanned but they stayed on the bus and were told to SAY NOTHING! It worked; they were mostly scared to death but no one came on board. The guard asked me if I had been to Canada before and I said yes. Then he asked when and I was not sure! I guessed 97 or 98 wiith a day in Vancouver as part of Alaskan cruise. Evidently that was right and I was excused. Geez. On the way back all the kids had to get off and take ALL bags through the scanner (excluding suitcases). Took a dog on the bus too, but fortunately we were "clean". Trip itself was okay, but I was unimpressed with the tour guide and most of our stops. We left Seattle at 4pm Monday and got back to our town at 1:00am Wed. ACK! Even with time change it was hours more than it should have been. One of the drivers went AROUND a road closed sign because his dispatcher had told him the day before that the road should be open. Uh...pretty sure it is illegal in 50 states to go around barricades! So then by the time he figures out we can't go that way (road washed out) we are on a reservation, little cell phone reception and a conversation with the sheriff on the two-hour detour it will take to undo the mess the driver got us into. By going north instead of south. I had terribly swollen ankes within the first 8 hours because of my inability to stretch out or elevate my legs. Scared to death of getting a blood clot, but finally swelling has gone down! And no symptoms, just a worried mind.

Am trying to watch a movie on Netflix and barely can stay awake, so somebody throw a blanket over me, and hopefully Kymn won't dump me out (I think she owes me one!)

Gosh Husker, sorry about all the chaos - glad the swelling has gone down. I will make sure that no one bothers you as you fall asleep on the hammock. You deserve a happy hibernation.

I am about to think about bed myself, has been a long day and a great night outdoors (except for my old dog falling in the pool again).

Anyone wanna join me for a quick night cap?? Cheers my girls, sleep well and be well. Hugz!

just a quick pop in....Wahine, I just put the mix in a metal rectangular pan, maybe 9 x 13ish size or next larger.  And all it is is the cake mix and crushed pineapple.    And, I did some on-search of carny talk and found a fascinating site; had just started to read when dau/gkids got here.   Will try to find it again tomorrow.   Looked interesting.

Lori--showed my dau and g/daus the pics of your "fence"--they all want to come see it and think it's the neates fence they've ever seen--thanks for sharing the pics!

Get your lampshades ready--bus will will magically pick you up whatever time you need---get ready to PAR-TAY!!!!   Huggsss to all

    cHairs!!!!

Yummmmy, so glad Chrissy and Junie are bringing us some cake tonight!! Maybe we could also douse them with likker, DorK, and get a buzz at the same time...lol. Well, we found a really nice kayak for DH...its heavily constructed, has rod holders, lots of storage, and is khaki green....looks very much like a fisherman's/sportsman's kayak. Bought it tonight, and right now it is in the Dining Room as it stuck out of the truck and I didn't want someone to steal it!!! Hoping to try it in the morning, then will know if I want the same style, or maybe one a bit lighter weight so I could lift it myself. So I wanted to thank all of you for your tips, esp NM for that link! Really helped me a lot, girlz.

Beans, where are you???? Playing out in the dirt now that it got all torn up, being graded? OR still looking for a lampshade? Glad you got yours DorK! Yeah, I think we would let you take it back home wid ya....after all what in the world would Junie do if we left them all at her house? Junie, Did your DH get the deck all spic and span for our partay? If not, no worries, as we will be dwinking so much and chatting so much that we prob wouldn't even notice. Can't wait to see you all! Bus driver (Hunk) said he will be picking me up at 9 am sharp, then on to get everyone else. Wheeeeee...I get him all to myself for a bit (of mischief?). Partay, Partay, Partay!!!!
