ROFLMAO at your dweam, DorK! So vivid too! Neat that you remembered so many details....sometimes I remember them when I first wake up, and a few minutes later....*poof* they're gone. Unless I get smart and think to write them down, that is! Sounded like we all had a great time though, but sawwy we made you feel badly, like we liked you neighbors home better. You KNOW we would love to all visit each other, and would be so glad to meet up, would not even LOOK at a neighbors house!!! That was cool, thanks for sharing it with us (after all, some of us were IN it, so its only fair you shared...lol). Glad you have a nice view, but it sucks that you are working too much.

Thanks for clarifying the grout bag, Gail. Think I will stick to "schlepping" (there I go again!)....as maybe the grout will not dry as fast in a pail. Wanted to go over this am and tackle that, but our darn satellite dish went out, and not sure if they will send someone over today or not. DH was very adamant with them that they need someone here asap. Lotta shows I wanted to see this evening...that just sucks. At least they should call and let us know if/when they are coming so we don't have to wait all day....if not today, then betwn 8-12 tomorrow. Aaarrgggghhhh......me tinks me need anodda dwink!

Magic words....DH told them if they didn't send someout TODAY to fix it, they could cancel our service tomorrow and pick up their boxes, AND he would not pay a cancel fee since all the probs have been their fault! WooHoo....it woiked! So...time to dwink!!!!

Kathy, the plate was poyfect and thank you so much for sending the ML truck, make sure he comes in the morning just in case it rains. It is monsoon season and if it does rain, it's usually in the afternoon. Sorry ‘bout your satellite issues, I hope they got it fixed. Just saw that it was fixed, thanks to DH's antics! Boy, you are on a roll!

DorK, how funny about your dream and how rude of us to go to the neighbors. Amazing that you remember so much of the dream. And damn, you are working a ton!

Gail, took me a few to figure out IL's. I'm thinking Illinois, Islands, what the heck! Duh.....in-law's. Hope you have a good time and are looking forward to it. I don't recall, do they live out of state? Too funny that you got mad at DH, so you totally spent your day w/o him! Did you buy anything fun?

Glad you made it home ok Beans. Does your family like your life there?

Cheers Big Nose, Same Goes Big Ears!

Dang, I love the weekends and no work! I think I will bring the phone in the house and run outside with it if I need to help a customer or take an order. That way I can do some last minute cleaning and packing. The kids will be checking into our fave hotel today. I hope they let us come back! My G'kids can be quite unruly, loud, wild and rambunctious, to say the least! I have some red and white wine that I bought, actually for cooking with, but if I want to offer any, do I chill both of them? Or are some wines served at room temperature? Can you tell I'm not a wino, I mean wine connoisseur. Also our gal from Taiwan will be here, and she too is staying at the same hotel and we will be meeting up with her on Wednesday, after doctor appointments. So I am really not sure if we are still planning on going to Laughlin on Wed. or Thurs. Oh well, I will let ya's know. But once gone, I doubt I will be online, so I just know I will have pages and pages to read. Which I never just skip them, and just read the most recent. I MUST read all of them.

Lori, Actually the ML truck should get there TODAY, so will be there whenever you need it! Sounds like you will be quite busy for awhile. The red wine should be at room temp, and usually whites are chilled (might be some that aren't, but I chill all our whites). Hoping to hear that it was a great visit!! AND that the gambling god will shine on you, in Laughlin. Can't wait to hear about it all.

Gail, Have a great trip! I forgot where they live, also.

Beans, So glad you got back home safely!!! Whenever you want us to have a lampshade party, just say the word.. Can't wait to see your new one!!

We had such bad thunderstorms last night, that I jumped and yelled a couple of times! Was sitting at the window and it seemed to strike right there....was just so loud! Of course the tv went out during it, which is one of the hassels of satellite, Lotta phone calls to get everything re-connected for my mom, but tv is not something she watches, so leaving that off. I have TONS to do today....can I borrow Stella? Does she do windows??? J/K. Love you all, and hoping for a great day for everyone here!!!

Grrrr my AC went out AGAIN and only in my room?? Why oh why? Well tried sleeping in my son's room who is at camp. OK, that just doesn't work and well..... hate to admit it but I swear I was channelling teenage boy dreams! Um, that doesn't really work for me and kinda of scary insight if true as one was about one of his friend's Mom's breasts! OK, I know I have said more than enought, just had to tell someone.... Normally NEVER remember dreams so why this one? ICK! Well, at least she looked good. LOL, don't think I'll share though.

Dork, I agree - how rude we were to leave after you planned and cleaned and everything, well we promise we don't do it in real life.

Goldie - glad Kathy set you straight on wine - hope the visits go well..

Karen - have you worn holes in your shoes yet? Boy is she going to come back skinny with all that exercise.

OH, Kathy did you see the temps for today? We are not supposed to have those - should be reserved for Phonix! Yikes. Well off to nose Dr. Wish me luck....

    Hi everyone,

I am back from my travels, and sore almost everywhere, particularly where my lady parts touch the bicycle seat!  But we did it!!!  Was glorious both days, but got hot for about an hour stretch yesterday.  Fortunately, shade as we went up the hill towards the end.

The last hour of cycling Saturday was in the river valley between Centralia and Chehalis.  Just the sweet scents of summer, and the long gentle shadows of early evening.  Reminds me of growing up, as was the perfect haying day.

I am recovering from too many anti-bonk portions and not enough wine, as had only one beer in the past two days and no wine at all.

Envious of you Kymm as that floor was quite hard, some of the people in the indoor camping room snored, and room was stuffy.  Tent next time baby!!!!  On the flip side, the people couldn't have been lovelier, and the food was good.  This money supports the church's youth program.

New route going into Portland, and yes, we took a wrong turn.  By then, I was cursing every time I had to put extra pressure on my ankle which was every light.

Dragging today, and quite sure it will be a very early night.

Sorry I can't send everyone the delightful weather we are having here!  Just glorious with temps in the 50s-70s range.

Have to get out the notice about the "Post STP Recovery Ride" I am leading next Saturday.  First time as a ride leader.  This one will be slow and scenic.  Time for picture taking and talking to animals.  Actually a lot more fun than the STP.  But you do the STP in order to have a goal, and you have to train for it.

Perhaps I should have an Irish coffee to start the day...... - Claire

Pants, be a dear, mix me up a big batch of Purple Haze, put it in an adult size sippy cup and bring it to me in the pool, would you please?

Taking a break betwn jobs today.....needed to get cool as it is dreadfully HOT today. Stanzie, Oh I hope they can find the problem with your a/c....weird just going to your room Do you think squirrels or other critters might have damaged the ductwork? OR sometimes they use duct tape on it and the heat causes it to come undone. That happened in our attic before. WEIRD to sleep in your DS's room and dream like a teen. Hope you don't have to sleep there anymore!!!

Gail, I found something cool......have you heard of the "printer" that prints in 3D, and can even replicate working tools? This is a neatl video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZboxMsSz5Aw .

NM, So sorry you lost you post! I know you put oodles of time into them...that sucks.

Kymn, You will LOVE camping in luxury like that! When are you going?

Claire, you can send those nice temps here anytime...okay....I'm waiting.....LOL.

Stay cool ladies! It is a scorcher. Joining NM in having a Purple Haze in the pool! Yummmmm

Week 2 of the learning program.  One of the classes ended today and a new class/topic tomorrow.  tonight we had a speaker that was amazing...the women happens to also be learning and we have started a friendship....a very interesting story!!!  I didn't get back to the house till after 10:30!!!

Stanzie....even with the walking and less snacking, I don't think I've lost an ounce!!!  There is a scale on the street and I've weighed myself and it pretty much matches what I weighed the last time I weighed myself :(   The program provides lunch and it really a dinner type meal..the food is good...mostly fish and chichen for lunch, potatoes or rice (or both) and cooked veggies.....More than I'm used to eating at lunch!!!  but I'm not eating big dinners....last ight had a great greek salad...but of course, I'm eating laffy taffys now as I write this..but only 2 left and then they are gone!!!

Yesterday was visiting day at camp, so DD got to call me...she is having a good time..she misplaced 18 that I sent her in the letters from my parents before I left, and was feeling bad about it and worried about having enough money for the airport on the way home, so I told her to ask daddy for money!!!  She just wants to have enough to get something to eat in the airport...

Its late and I'm wound up, but think I should probably get into bed soon....I figure I should try for 6 hours in bed!!!

    Hugs from Israel.  Karen

WooHoo Happy Hour!!! Yay!!! Anyone here to have a dwink with? OR should I just let Pants and Jocks spoil me rotten??

Karen, SO funny about the Laffy Taffy's! I had never had any till I was a sales rep for Nestle Candy, and that was one of their products. So I got sorta hooked on them for awhile. Unfortunately they had a long shelf life,so I didn't get to pull them too often. You know, if you don't see a difference on the scale, you prolly are developing more muscle....and it IS heavier than fat! I know you must be healthier with all that walking and eating more fish, etc. Hi to you from the Sunny Scorching South!

Dang it, had a lot to do at my parents house, then so many errands, I was too pooped to pop, OR too pooped to grout! But I am ready to partay!!!!!

    TITZ UP!!!!

    Hi LadieZ.....

Who's drinking here????  Perhaps, it's because I need a "relaxative" as the estimable Mae West would have put it.  Anyway, needed some real food and wine after 2 days of anti-bonk potions.

Fortunately, I had planned ahead, so only to reheat my sherry-tarragon chicken and cook up some sugar snap peas and broccoli.  Had potatoes ready too.

Day has been a bust brain-wise as energy appears to be in my muscles.

Or perhaps, everyone has had several "Purple Haze" concoctions.  Who knows???  I usually stick to wine, as can predict the "haze" portion.

What was it that Pants put in the "Purple Haze" mix????

I will be off in a few to catch up on sleep.  I got my normal 8 hours over a period of three days.  I can tell that my brain is unhappy.

Anyway, TitZ (the only part of me that isn't feeling it) up, LadieZ. - Claire

Hi goils!!!   I've had a lovely day to day!   Some friend stopped by and we all, including DH, went out for a lovely luch to celebrate his birthday and our 42 wedding anniversary.  We went to an Indonesian Restaurant and the food was spectacular to the point that we are both not hungry at tea time....lol.   I even had a glass of red with lunch and it was so smooth that I could have drunk a lot more than I did!

Karen, your stay in Israel sounds lovely, busy but lovely.  I'm so glad you are enjoying it.

Junie I sure hope you master the Ipad, they are so good to use once you get used to them.  Hope the upped oxygen level gives you a clearer head!

Kathy,  when does your mom arrive?  I know it's soon but I have forgotten exactly.  I used to do all the tiling in my house as well as all the repairs but I can do none of it now and it is so frustrating to see but not be able to do!  Hope you get your grouting done!

Kymn, I checked out your trailer and it's a real beauty!  I could live in that for sure but I would hate to have to drive with it hanging off the back of a vehicle!!!   Now that scares the dickins out of me!

NM sorry you lost your post again....it's a real bummer when that happens.

Claire hope you got the rest you needed to defog the brain cells and get back to tip top form!

Dotty are you overworking?  I sure hope not.   When is your surgery, sorry for asking I know you will have told already but I have forgotten....too much happening in this old brain.   Anyway I just want to say that I'm thinking of you and hope it all goes well.

Heading for the bar cause I gotta try me one or more of those Purple Haze drinks......not that I need to be in more of a haze but what the heck!!!   I'm game...........

    Mornin' Ladies!!!!

Chrissy, Are you still here? Or did the Purple Hazes get you too relaxed and you ambled out of the bar? OH,  I see you now....sorta passed out in the hammock! Noooooo, I won't tip you over; in fact I will tiptoe around you so you can sleep. My mom gets here this morning...supposed to arrive in an hour, but looks like the flight from Atlanta is a bit delayed. SO, we will see her  soon....can't wait! I think DorK's surgery is on July 21, or so. And her last day to work before surgery is this Friday? Or do I have that wrong, DorK? I think she had her pre-op already.I really hate it that you can't do the repairs, etc that you used to be able to do. I have to admit, that was what upset me the most with my bc dx and surgeries. So I was pleasantly surprised that I can do *most* of what I want to. Of course now old age is restricting some of that! NO WAY possible to keep up with everyone here!!! Have a great day/or night, whichever it is there!

Junie, Hang in there, girlfriend. You WILL get the iPad all figured out!!! I know how hard it is to have new technology....so hard for us to learn, but SO EASY for our kids/g'kids to learn. Hope you will master a bit more of it, today.

Looks like a stormy day here. Funny thing is, they do the temp, etc at our airport. SO even though we got a lot of rain yesterday, since it didn't rain at the airport, it didn't rain!!! The other day we wanted rain, and it was raining heavily where our condo is, a few miles away, but as we got closer to home, you could see the line where the rain had stopped! Heat index up to 110 to 115 today, so heat warnings till late tonight. (I think the actual temp will be 98 though, but humid). Hoping to keep my mom inside today, and resting. Then we get to take our bottle of wine to painting class tonight....FUN! Can't wait to see her....will be picking her up soon!

edit: Delayed 40 min, so leaving now. BUT want to ask Stanzie if she sent her biting moth over here? Got bit on my neck by something, and have a big red welt, and is soooo itchy!

    Hugs Y'all,

    Kathy

Kathy, you are a doll, thank you for the truck. I'll have it back to Junie's in no time.

Stanzie, sorry about your AC but LMAO at channeling teenage boy's dreams. Hoping to read good news from the nose doc.

NM, sorry you lost your post, but we can be certain it was funny.

Kymn, soon my love, soon. You will be back to your old self. Just don't run off somewhere in that new camper and forget about us!

Karen, I am a bit confused about DD misplacing 18. The 18th letter, $18.....LOL, certainly not the 18th hole! Scales on the street? I guess I would just stay away from those! And even tho you haven't lost wgt, you are still doing your body good!

Claire, don't worry about what's in the Haze, just drink!

Oh dear Junie, who would have thunk that the iPad would be so difficult. Glad you got it up and running again.

Kathy, let us know that mom arrives safely, and I sure hope she can rest. Enjoy your paint class this evening!

Well, it rained quite a bit yesterday, so very muddy out. If it rains more I doubt the kids will be able to get in. Also, DH said this morning that he had missed calls on his phone out in the office (which doesn't have voice mail) from his daughter at 1am? So, I don't know if they were just arriving in Phoenix at that time (which wouldn't surprise me) or what. So I look for today to just be a disaster and have no idea what I will do with all of this food. Y'all wanna come over?

LMAO Chrissy! You are sooooooo funny (oh wait, is that for real? LOL).

Picked up my mom, safe and sound, looking so good and fresh with the energy of a 40 year old. Hope it lasts! Scared me though when she mentioned on the long flt from HI-ATL (8-9hrs?) that she had a nice fellow as a seatmate. When she realized she forgot to bring a sleeping pill, HE gave her one of his!!! When she saw my concern, she said "Oh no, he was a NICE man". I am hoping she will get some sleep today, but she just called as she wanted to call my dad....I had to remind her....it is not even 4:30 am there....might want to wait a bit! So far, so good!

Thanks for everyone's concern! Hugs, Kathy

It's me AGAIN! Took these pics yesterday....we have so many crape myrtles (tall ones all around the yard), which have caused pink blossoms to land everywhere (storms), and caught some on one of the birdhouses, while bluejay was there....cardinal was coming in, and got scared when it saw me! DH did refill this after I took the pic, as it gets empty everyday. AND this is a hydrangea on my deck, showing PART of railings and bench I painted earlier (had to do lots of railings, and tall columns, plus bands that go around up high).

    goldie...its $18 that she can't find......

I am soooo tired today....brain stopped functioning hours ago!!!  Stopped at the store on my way home as I needed water and a few other things...decided to get this different brand of water as it was better price....and the watermelon looked so yummy so got 1/2 plus some cheese and cucumbers and tomatoes....had picked up a delicious foccacia with feta, eggplant and sundried tomatoes for dinner.....but forgot wine!!! kept wondering why the water was soooo much heavier this time that the last 6 pack.....about 1/2 home I'm thinking the bottles look bigger...and then I read the package....yup, they were bigger....2 liter instead of 1.5....no wonder I could barely carry it with 2 arms!!!!!  I've already gone through 12 1.5 liter bottles of water since a week ago sunday!!!

Going to crawl into bed....its just me in the house...the other guests left today....and then did't tidy up a bit after themselves....didn't empty the trash or take the papers out!!!!  I will do that tomorrow....my gf husband gets back on the 14...so 2 nights of just me in the house.....

Hope to check in tomorrow and "talk" with everyone....Its 11:10pm and I'm going to sleep as soon as I take an ativan!!!!  HUgs, Karen

Wahine--glad your mom got in safely, sounds like she's either got lot of energy or serious jet lag! As far as not being able to do the repairs and household stuff that I used to, I don't let age make me do less. I just find other ways to get things done, like offering a hand friend lasagna, or like yesterday, steak and eggs. Works like a charm!

Goldie--did you find something to do with the food? I'm sure the tenders would put it out on our buffet if you brought it in! Or you could take it to a soup kitchen? Or package it up and freeze some of it for later? I'm sure you'll figure something out! Gotta love how Mother Nature can trump human technology, don't you?

There seems to be a lot of haziness in the lounge this morning--a very nice purple post chemo haze! Thanks for sharing, Crissy, Kymn!

No I've got that song running through my head: Purple Rain, Purple Rain. . .

Wahine--BEAUTIFUL flowers, railings, and bird house!  Makes me smile!

Karen--hope you had a good sleep. I can relate to being tired and drinking lots of water. Fortunately the humidity is less today. My friend with lasagna benefits came over yesterday and helped me change the faucets in the kitchen and bathroom--no more dripping in the kitchen and I can turn the water on and off with wet hands in the bathroom, yeah--and we were both soaked with sweat when we got done. So we took Sadie to the little town landing on the pond and had a wonderful swim. Sorry your guests were considerate enough to pick up after themselves. That is just rude, at least according to the way I was brought up.

Beanie--sorry for the problems, glad you're back, and how ‘bout sharing that merlot?????

Lemon, lots of ice and Capt Morgan dark spiced rum!

    Personalized DOTD!

Kathy, what gorgeous colorful pictures. So glad mom is there, but dang....taking drugs from a stranger? That is a scary one.

Karen, I agree with NM, not very nice to not pick up after ones self!

Beans, what can I say? Sure wish you didn't have all that CRUD to deal with.

NM, great toons as always. As for the food, I am going to take it to my other step daughter. Dinner was suppose to be at 4, well they called at 4 and weren't going to be here for another hour and a half, so we just told them not to bother. Then they wanted us to keep Friday open (in Laughlin) for what ever time they decided to show up and go to Oatman with them. A little mining town with wild donkeys. Well, we have been there 3 or 4 times and temps are way above 100, so....no thank you! Then DH tells her we would be drinking as well, and her reply was "Well, I don't think I want my children around you if you are going to be like that".

We are off to Phx, docs tomorrow and Laughlin after the doctors. Already got my blood work results, all is fine. So.............will see you all on the flip side somewhere!
