Girls, this is breaking my heart to be the bearer of sad news. It is not looking good. Please pray extra hard the next couple of days, for our Junie. Her family was not given much hope. I don't know what else so say, I miss her so much. Junie, I love you, and hope you can feel all the love and prayers we are sending out to you, as well as to your family.

    Very, very sadly, Your friend,

    Kathy

Please Please Please dear Lord, help our Junie so she can come back and be with us and of course her family too. Please help her family to be strong so they can get through this as well. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen and Barmen (for Junie)

Kathy, I'm sorry you are the one that has to carry this, it's so hard. Are you calling Junie's DH or is he calling you.

Beans.............IT IS NOT Kymn's b-day yet. It's this Sunday. Our health insurace has to be paid by us, since we own our own business and no one else will even take us on. As soon as they find out about my cancer and DH's RA..........they pretty much hang up on you.

Oh, Kathy and all my breast friends, let's have a virtual hand holding for Junie. I was so very scared when I saw how many updates where here in a short period of time and God, I thought the worst. Iam very grateful that she is with us for another day. Kathy, I will be thinking of you as well and all of you ladies who are fans of Junie. Let's keep the positive thinking happening and make those who say it does not look good VERY WRONG! The fight is not over...the chant shall keep going! As tears roll down my face, I say:

Junie, Junie, Junie, JUNIE, darling, PLEEEEZE wake up. Pants wants to give you a message. I wanna buy ya a bucket of dogs beers.  We wanna come and have a shade party, pleeeeeze, with a shot of vodka on top, come on girl, show us what you've got! And I also hope you feel the love.

Lori, your prayer is beautiful. Please God, hear our prayers.  Amen

I received an e-mail from a mutual friend of Junie's regarding her illness.  I am hoping and praying she will wake soon and be back to the old Junie we all love.  I met Junie two times in the past 5 years since joining this site and she is a hoot. She is such a cutup - don't think I have laughed harder than the times I have spent with her and her DH.  I haven't been here in quite awhile but felt that I had to come check on her and the rest of the drinking gang.  Glad to see this thread has lived on.

    Praying for a miracle!

    Sam

Hi Sam and welcome back! Glad you stopped in on Junie's behalf. You are very fortunate to have met her, so has Kathy (Wahine). And yes, she is a HOOT. Always good for a laugh and just has the best stories and we have some of our best "virtual" parties at her house.

I think we all should wear a bra on the outsides of our shirts! I am keeping positive DorK, and yes God, hear our prayers!

COME ON JUNIE.....YOU CAN DO THIS!

Praying extra hard for Junie... I just know you can feel the love and I hope it is a comfort to you, Junie. You make us laugh and we all need that! And you are so kind and caring in your humor. I've missed your presence here and hope you will join us again soon. I'm praying with all my heart.

I had to be out all afternoon....since I was crying so hard, I had to shower, wash/dry/style hair, put on makeup and clothes...all in 20 min. My mani/pedi appt was resch from yesterday since they over booked.I wanted to cancel, as I didn't want to see or talk to anyone. But in the end, it was good, as the girl let me talk non-stop,and it was very therapeutic. Now, I see all the loving, caring messages everyone is leaving, for Junie. And Sam and Janice, so nice to see you two back here! I know both of you met Junie, so are feeling so sad right now too. Did CasinoGirl meet her too? You all go way back even before the HTL was thought of....great drinking buds! I know Junie thought so much of all of you.

Beans, You had such a nice, long post with pictures that I saw quickly, I think you had accidentally bumped into me without knowing, as it takes so long to post that type of post. Then you wrote such a nice post about how sorry you were to hear the sad news. BUT THEN your long post was deleted! I wish you had left it, but I can understand that you didn't want to keep it, when Junie was not doing good. And remember, no sorries here! I think I was the one that first got Kymn's birthday confused...and then it was a domino effect. I know how much you care for Junie!

Lori, I would love to wear a bra on the outside, but I don't have any left! Maybe I should wear a lampshade on my head? Someone walked into the room where I was having the mani/pedi today, with a head full of foil (color treatment)! And so of course, I thought of Junie! What crazy times we have here, when foil will always bring either a laugh or fond memories.

I am so thankful for all of you here,

    Kathy

Hey, Lord, I just wanted to say thanks for the great day with good friends.  Thanks for giving me freinds like them, and for being able to enjoy simple things like a movie and root beer float after.  While I've got You on the line, I'd like to ask you to intervene for my breast friend Junie.  I know that You know what is going on with her, in detail.  I also know that I don't know anything but the major story, and it's not my business to know any more.  I would really like for You to have Junie wake up and be healed.  I also know that it isn't up to me, it's up to You what will happen with Junie, and what I want may be selfish and self-centered compared to all the details that only You know and understand.  Please, Lord, whatever Your will is for Junie, be with her and her family as well as all of us here who are her friends.  Keep Junie pain-free.  Give Junie and her family Your peace and serenity, no matter what the outcome You have decreed for her.

Stanzie--there are a number of phrases that are used routinely in medical records that don't really mean what they sound like, but that I feel influences how medical professionals think about patients after a while.  "The patient failed first and second line chemotherapy" or "the patient failed 2 courses of antibiotics" is one of the ones that bother me the most.  It feeds the myth that doctors (and nurses) can fix anything that is wrong with a person, and if the person doesn't get better it's because of something the patient did or didn't do.  In reality, the exact opposite is true--the treatment prescribed failed to cure the patient's condition, which is not necessarily the fault of the doctor or nurse prescribing the treatment, but very well may be.  Another one that irritates me is the phrase "patient presents with a chief complaint of" or "patient complains of"  whatever symptom prompted the person to seek health care.  "Complain" has overtones of negativity on the patient's part, when in reality the patient is reporting a symptom, like pain.  In a situation like DorK's, the chart may say "Patient is non-compliant with antibiotic treatement" which implies that a person choose not to take the medication or not to take it correctly, when the truth is often that the discharge teaching did not make the correct instructions clear, or the nurse doing the discharge teaching did not make sure the patient (or someone with the patient) understood correctly.  It would be much more accurate to write in a chart  "the patient realized she hadn't been taking the medication as prescribed, contacted this office, was instructed to . . . . "  Do I believe that patients are never in the wrong?  No, of course not.  I've dealt with manipulative and uncooperative patients who demand we fix their problem but won't take medication or do the things that we tell them will fix their problems.  But those patients are far fewer than most docs and nurses think they are, and I really do not like how often health care providers' attitude toward a patient is colored by the language used in medical charts.

Oh, boy, i didn't mean to get back up on the soap box.

NM...the other phrase I can't stand is when taking a history is "patient denied"...to me it makes it sound like patient is lying!!!!

JUNIE...thinking non-stop about you....sure hope that this is just a bump in the road and you are back full strength with us all in no time!!!!  HUGS from Denver.....

I keep checking back just hoping and praying Kathy will tell us some good news.... I am so taken aback at how much I have come to love and care and need you all. I would never ever have believed before BC that I could ever find such true wonderful loving amazing friends. I find it so hard to really understand and grasp that one of us is so terribly ill. How can that be? This is supposed to be the fun thread, nothing bad is suppsed to happen here, but then again this is BC.org. I hate this so much, it just isn't right or fair or OK!

Please Junie!!! We need you, miss you and want you back here making us laugh.... hope and pray so much you can fight through and give your family, friends and doctors some sign that you are able to come back to us all. NM - your prayer was just lovely and Lori.....  praying hard for Junie, her loving family and friends all over the whole world!

    Love and hugs to all!!!!

What beautiful sentiments, Stanzie! If anything good is coming out of this, it is the outpouring of love and caring. I have been so touched by how loved Junie is, and how many people are praying for her and hurting for her. She is truly an amazing woman, and I feel so blessed to know her. My heart is breaking, and I miss her terribly. I cannot understand it either, how she is so terribly ill and in such a grave condition, when she was so full of life just a few days ago. Her husband told me she is not in pain, and is not suffering, which is something to be thankful for. I so wish she could be back here with us. Praying hard for her and for her family. We love you, Junie.

    Hi All,

Didn't go to bed last night - cleaning like a whilrling dervish and then couldn't find the cat. She always is on the front porch at 9:30... started checking every hour... finally found her at 3:30am then legs hurt too bad to sleep.... so still up and the trucks just arrived. Yipes!!!

Hoping for a miracle and good news about dear Junie!!

Karen--YES, that is another one! And the ever dignified "Patient expired" like people have an end to their usefullness or value to others. Yeesh.

CasinoGirl--good to hear from you again, although I wish the circumstances were better.

Wahine--I'm so sorry to hear that things have progressed to that point for Junie. Such a hard time for a family. I keep praying Junie is being kept pain free.

Beanie--I'll join you in that prayer, even though I don't like beer.

Chrissy--this is the first place I checked this am, too. The Tenders have set up a coffee bar in the inflatable lounge for us.

Stanzie--I'm hoping for good news, too. We can keep hoping, and keep hating the beast for doing this to all of us.

Wahine--thanks for letting us know she isn't in pain. That, at least, is something to be grateful for.

Stanzie--glad you found the cat, and hope today goes well. Hang in there1

    God Bless each of you.

I am off to see my PS and will check in upon return.  I hope each of you have a great day (well as good as can be expected).
