Oops, Stanzie, glad I bumped ya, thanks for getting me down from the tree!! Your evening sounds just perfect. I love watching fireworks. There are times when I can see the big Philly displays from my yard but it is very far away. How nice that you were able to enjoy them as your sweet DS was in the basement and you did not have to worry about upsetting him. I just love that little boy as he is special and part of you. Sorry about the horrible movie but glad your kids did not upset you with their words about watching movies with mommy, they are growing up. And cute about boom boom and the cannon comment, adorable!

Speaking of special, LORI, your day also sounded very special. How stinking cute that the little 4 year old did not wanna leave. Aunty Lori is the hostest with the mostess in the kids eyes.  Little ones are sooooo enjoyable to be with, especially for those whose children have grown or those who never had children. Thank ewe for the sweet compliment about making the lounge proud. I am proud to be hosting one of the most beautiful woman I have ever met. She is a true inspriation. Me is even eating a yogurt for breakfast today cuz she said I must eat breakfast and 100 calerie packs of cookies are not breakfast/lunch.

I feel that God is working miracles in my life and something happened to me yesterday (other than the miracle Chrissy is performing) that is so very beautiful. Ok, are you girls ready? This is a true miracle and I have not told Chrissy as I did not discover this until after she went to bed.  Some may think I am nuts and I will not be running around telling about this one cuz people KNOW that I AM nuts lol. But I can see again, no glasses, no contacts. How weird is that? I knew I had my contact lenses out all day but had to reaffirm and check my contact case and further check my eyeballs for lenses which are not there. OMG, I should not question this. Dork walks in to the house of the Lord yesterday and day end, retained the eye sight that went down down down hill over ten years ago. Wow!  I am not drunk, I am not dreaming. I just know who is responsible.

And then there is the miracle of having Chrissy here. I say it often but she is such an inspiration and we just talk talk talk and I get so much from her superior wisdom of life. She is teaching me to relax amonst other things and I feel so very blessed today.

I pray for you girls all the time and send up prayers from God's house yesterday for all of you. I sincerely wish each of you girls the very best in health and happiness. I ain't no religious ""freak"" but my God, my belief is affirmed ten fold.

Okay, I was not going to tail this but think what you want, I can see when I was so blind. DH did a font test last night, even after drinking most of the day and is wowed out. I say no more, live and let live.

Sorry for the long rant, I am who I am and I am quite de chatter box. Time to finish me yogurt (ick) lol!

CheeRs cheers and a bucket o beers CoolCool

    Good morning LadieZ.....

Am off for another ride (I think) and have to go man the sign up table.  Pumpkin bread is cut up and ready for the rest stop.  I won't be having it as doing the shorter route.  So just had a piece for breakfast.

My body is telling me it gave yesterday......

Anyway, reading all the posts so attending all the parties virtually.  The one I attended (unwillingly) in real time last night was the fireworks.  Think Roman Candles, but didn't get out of bed to check.

See all of you later for a final Labor Day par-tay.  BTW - just glanced at the online NYT headlines.  I think they are on a mission to make us as miserable as possible.  I would recommend giving them a miss. - Claire

Stanzie, thanks! I just ordered another box of contact lenses the morning Chrissy arrived. My vision is not perfect but it has improved significantly. I am typing without glasses and without contacts and have no struggle. My far away vision is still not great but I can easily clear that up with the contacts. I usually wear glasses on top of the contacts for reading as I could not wear the mono vision contacts. I am due for my eye exam in the next few months, will see (lol see) what happens then.

I took my blood pressure this morning, I take meds for hyper tension and had a very tough time getting it regulated but it has been great for the last year. My pulse rate this morning was near 80, I almost always run anywhere from 100-120 pulse. Chrissy's presence is relaxing me so much, I am usually a bundle of nerves and feel just great.

Well enough about me I am going to try to post some pics here. My guest is teaching me a lot about the computer, she is a wiz.

Seriously, where is everyone? Other than me and Lori, I do not think anyone else hit the lounge yesterday. Glad Stanzie and Lori stopped in today, was worried that the lounge was closed by the government hehehe! Was it something I said???

Scuba-Is your drain in a place where you can tuck it into a big pocket? That's what I did with mine that hung around for 6 weeks. Hoping you get both out when you see thePS!

DorK-the weekend load was actually pretty heavy, being a holiday weekend, but it was a good one. No major crises, only one middle of the night call out. Up until 3 am? You must be on Chrissy time?

Goldie-I'm so happy for your friend! Autoimmune diseases aren't fun but they are better than the beast! And to have her phone stolen, too, what a week! And I LOVE the T-shirt! Great colors on you!

Claire-I was thinking about you yesterday while I was driving my rounds. I must have come by 4 or 5 different groups of bicylists. There must have been some sort of function going on. I kept trying to picture you in one of those biking outfits.

Kittycat-praying that you get over what ever it is ASAP and without more surgery. There comes a point when enough is enough already!

Chrissy!! Welcome to the US! Have fun with DorK!

Reesie-please do barge in, that one of the things we do best! What's your drink of choice?

Husker-I'm going to find some choco-mint Baileys to celebrate my clean bone scan results! Gracie Lu is adorable!

Claire-I asked my onc about labs, scans, etc during my last visit and she said that the only routine testing for early stage bc is a chest x-ray at time of diagnosis and basic CBC and chemistry panal. I've got to do some research on that since I still think I'm getting treated differently because I refused chemo. She was quick to order a bone scan to check out the shoulder pain, though. Not sure if that was because we were just talking about such things. Then again, I'm not sure I want to go through the agony of having the scans done and the waiting for results. . . . Still praying for your perfect job to open up and land in your lap, to mix a couple of metaphors.

AStorm-the tiger float is amazing! Your DD2 must have had a blast riding the float last year.

DorK-moms have a way of running us ragged, don't they? We have Blue laws in Maine, too. Can't buy likker after 11 on Sat. until noon Sunday. Used to be couldn't buy likker at all on Sundays, so the blue laws have gotten a bit paler over time. . . HOORAY FOR NEW, IMPROVED DORK-VISION!! And prayers DO work, a close friend and a new friend at work prayed with (and for) me before my scan-got the needle in first try, didn't have a panic attack, and got good results! And I know who is responsible, too.

DOTD:  The BLUE LAW1 oz Bacardi Limon Rum
    1 oz Triple Sec
    1 oz Blue Curacao
    1 splash Sprite
1 splash Sweet and Sour Mix
Best served in a Hurricane Glass.

    Directions
Add ice cubes, stir, and garnish with cherry

Been busy returning to Philly from Delaware, although I can not swim, the sand in my toes and salt water help. Like the raspberry vodka idea, will try it tomorrow. Unfortunately, once my friend the doctor pulled the bad drain out, the remaining one is pumping like a biotch -100 cc's plus I 24 hours so the PT/shrink that DorK and I see on Wednesday will probably veto removing the last one.

Wishing all a nice ending to a lovely 3 day weekend. You ladies rock!!!!!!!

    LadieZ.....

Am finally cycled out.  This one kicked my butt, although I walked a large number of the hills.  So about 130 miles for the weekend, 60 of them today.

It even hurts to sit down as think I have sprung my glutes and thighs.  Left arm and shoulder are sore too from holding on for dear life on the DOWNHILLS.

DorK and Chrissy......so glad you are having a terrific time.  I could use that swimming hole now, but if I jumped in, I would polute the place.  I am that sweaty.

Anyway, wanted to pop in and say "hi". NM....have some spandex, but use a different type of shirt as can't stand the standard fabric. I have been looking for new thermal cycling tights as I have trashed both pairs. Some genius has come up with the idea of bib ones.

I KNOW BETTER, as can figure out in advance that bibs and porta-potties aren't a good match. I don't care how cool the look. Just no.

Anyway, to the shower, and something strong. Think my remaining flat tonic and vodka as need to buy more Boodles.

Hoping everyone is having the most terrific evening. - Claire

Hi ladies! I've been thinking about you and looking forward to getting back to the lounge...

DD1 is back at her dorm... delivered her personally as she was still a little under the weather and didn't want her to hassle with public transportation as that would have taken 4 hours + instead of 2... and we got in a little shopping and lunch at her favorite vegan place here in town. Miss her already and glad she got to visit but the good-byes are tearing me up and I hope they get easier.

I had a marguarita last night (even though DH thinks they make me crazy) and tonight I'm enjoying a glass of fiano... stopped by one of my club wineries last week on my luch break and picked up another case also a case of meritage for super cheap... WINE ANYONE?

Oh Gail, I'm so glad you got to take her back to school, I know that meant a lot to both of you.

Claire - you are funny with your bibs and such. One time I had this pair of pants I really loved but they buttoned not only down the front but the side as well in order to get them off! I had to be careful not to drink much of any liquid if wearing them. I'd imagine cycleing just would be a bad idea with that design.

    Happy Tuesday to All!

Scuba-hooray for one drain out! Hopefully it's brother will get over the jealousy and calm down quickly. Progress is being made!

Claire-Wow, quite a workout! I'm sure a good hot shower and a good drink will set things straight for you, if not, I'll send Pants over to give you a massage when you get out of the hot tub. I learned long ago that bib type pants aren't good with port-a-potties, but those were snow pants. . . You know, you are worth tossing the flat tonic and buying some fresh-no need to drink flat, unless you like it that way, of course.

AStorm-I'll join you in the wine! I'm sure the good-byes will get easier to handle as time go on. Another reason I'm glad I never had children!

Stazie-I simply cannot picture shorts that button down the front AND the side-must have been odd to figure out? And definitely a bathroom nightmare.

Today I start a round of doctors' appointment. ENT this morning about chronic sinus infection and beginnings of hearing loss. PCP tomorrow am about depression and cholesterol. Med Onc tomorrow pm about bone scan and chest x-ray, and get the next Lupron shot set up. BUT, in a little more than a week I fly to VEGA$!

DOTD:  Hmm, need to think for a bit about this one.  Aha:  the PortaPotty!
    1 shot Vodka
    2 splashes Triple Sec
    1 shot Coffee Liqueur
    1/4 cup Sugar
    1/2 cup Coffee
    3 dashes Cinnamon
    1 squirt Whipping Cream
    3 dashes Nutmeg

    Directions
Dip the rim of an irish coffee cup into a puddle of triple sec, then a plate of sugar. Pour in the rum, kahlua, and one splash of triple sec. Light with a match to crystalize the sugar-rim. Add cinnamon and nutmeg, and pour in the coffee (and extinguish flame) until three-quarters full. Top with whipped cream, and serve.

DorK, we don't care what kind of freak you are, we love you. But wow, you can see and relax? You better not let Chrissy go home! Had to chuckle at your yogurt instead of cookies. But agree on the "ick" part. That is one thing I could never quite get taste for. Beautiful picture of you both! I posted the pic, I hope you don't mind. If so LET ME KNOW, so I can delete it.

Chrissy so glad you are having an amazing time and get to meet so many friends. How much longer will you be at DorK's? Good deal on the "good" sleep!

Thanks NM, I love my T-shirt too. Glad your weekend went well.

Scuba, I am picturing you swimming from Delaware to Philly.....LOL!

Astorm, sorry your DD is still feeling under the weather, but at least by taking her back yourself, you got to spend some extra time together. It should get easier!

Good morning girls.  Red Boob here!  LOL! The redness is almost completely gone!  I think today is surgery day for my PS, but I will call his office to find out.  Maybe I can stop by there this afternoon.  I notice that if I do more activity, it gets a little reddish, but not bad.  Still, enough reason to relaxxxxx!!!!

We ended up having friends over for Sunday, but my DH did all the work.  I did clean the bathroom and put away some laundry, but that was it.  I had chips, dips and easy store bought stuff to snack on.  I'm not a party hater, but just wasn't in the mood.  It all worked out, but I reminded DH that throwing parties cost $$ and we could have gone out and bought something fun for the $$ we spent!

DorK and Chrissyb, looks and sounds like you both are having a blast!  We sell liquor here in Vegas 24/7.  I forget about the liquor laws elsewhere.  In Utah they are even more strict, so we bring plenty with us when vacationing up there!  :)

Stanzie - LOL I think you found us all! Good detective work.

Kittycat - so glad you are less red. Glad you had fun with friends. Yes, those parties do get spensive... just another reason to hang out here at the lounge where everything is free!

DorK & Chrissy - love the photo! Hope you got stocked up on vodka.

NM - your post was a great way to start the day!

I've decided to post a joke of the day (JOTD) to go with the DOTD. Here is today's installment:

One morning, while she was making breakfast, the local fitness freak walked up to his wife, pinched her on the bum and said, "You know dear if you firmed this up we could get rid of your girdle."

This was a bit over the limit, but she controlled herself and replied with silence.

Next morning the man woke his wife with a pinch on the breast. "You know love if you firmed these up we could get rid of your bras."

That was too far over the limit. She rolled over and grabbed him by the penis. Maintaining a vice grip, she whispered in his ear, "You know dear if you firmed this up we could get rid of the postman, the pool man, the gardener and your brother."
