good morning loungettes, didnt anyone miss me
. I am so glad you posted those lampshades pictures stanzie as I was stuck underneath one of them lol.Seriously I was away camping and fishing all weekend, it was so nice to get away and the weather was beautiful. We left friday morning and didnt get back till monday afternoon. Wish I was still there.
On the boob front having alot of blistering and peeling underneath my boob sure will be glad when this is over.
ON the hair front it is really starting to come in yipeeee, I even coloured it with a henna on friday hehe but I dont like the colour so am thinking of getting another one and doing it darker, not ready to bleach it yet should give my hair a fighting chance lol.
Dork and Chrissy what a great time you two are having oh how fun would it be if we could all get together and go on that cruise they wouldnt know what hit them

Kitty sorry to hear about your Red boobie sure hope it gets better soon, you must be so done with all this crap hey, it really seems to go on forever doesnt it. I am know thinnking that I would like to get referred to a plastic surgeon so my girls can be fixed up and I can get a mathcing pair again lol.
kathy I am so sorry I missed your typo lol but you sure gave all the girls here quite a giggle I see. How are your folks doing? Are they back already, if not when do they arrive?
Claire whats gonig on with you work wise? Did you get the contract jobs? Are you guys having as nice of weather as we are? Its going to be 30c plus all week here, sorry I dont know what that is in farenheit.
Goldie love the picture of you your hair is so nice and long you look beautiful.
Chrissy So glad you are having such a great time with Dork, I love the pic of you two and look forward to reading all your adventures on your trip and remember Canada isnt that far away you could be here in a couple of hours lol.
To all I missed hope you all had a great long weekend

Hi Goils! I know Dotty has been keeping you a breast.......get it.....lol.......of the going on but I thought I'd pop my head in the door, have myself a wodka and lemonade, put my feet up and catch my breath!!! Oh, and post a pic from the dinner last night so you can check us all out.
From the left, Kay1963, Hauntie, me, our Dotty and Reecie. Front and centre are the 'Travelling Pants' in place of honour. We had a fabulous time and a very late night but I wouldn't change it for the world!Hoping all are doing well! TITZ UP ALL!!!!!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Goldie-Oops, not sure what happened there. Cuddn't been anthing I did, I only tasted a cupla duzzen drinks to find the wight wone. Hic. Wash thish hannel do? -- FLUSH--

Stanzie-LOL! I love when people give me POWER!!! The ENT appointment went well, actually. Found out that I have a ruptured septum (no idea when/how that happened) and eustacian tube problems. I can act like a kid for a while now that I have tubes in both ears. He said it wouldn't hurt, I wouldn't feel anything. HAH. Both sides HURT when he put the tubes in. Turns out I have very scarred eardrums. But, it was only a few seconds and he was so apologetic. Next step is an MRI of the sinuses to see what else is going on. That won't be until AFTER vacay. Had a message on the cell phone when I got out, The Med Onc wanted to know if I still wanted to keep my appointment tomorrow since I've already got the results of the bone scan. Told them that was fine with me, and her nurse is going to mail me copies of the reports. So just the PCP tomorrow AM. Oh, my those pants would be a problem to get out of quickly, or into quickly for that matter!

ROTFLMAO at the pics of us spying on Chrissy and DorK!
Kittycat-Hooray for less red! Sometimes I feel sorry for the color red. It's almost always associated with negative stuff-overdrafts, errors, dangers, blood and now skin after surgery!

AStorm-WooHoo, I lol'd at the JOTD and Sadie looked at me funny!

Kymn-YES, WE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you had a great time camping, good for you!

Chrissy-WOW! Great pic, and great keepsake! Here comes Jocks with your wodka and lemonade.

I looked for choco-mint Bailey's while I was grocery shopping, but didn't find any. I did find American Honey, which is, and I quote, "Exceptionally smooth liquer blended with pure honey and burbon whiskey" I'm sipppy, sippipp, ah, sipping a bit right now and it tastestes GOOOOD! All foe a suddein my fingers aren';t working really well on the dkeyboard, I wonder why?

Luv ya girls, I read but can not comment, way too late and i have my first dr appt of the day at 9:30am. Chrissy has been sound asleep for a few hours and will hurt me should I over sleep lol!
Nighty night! Lotsa love to each of you!

Heather, hoping for an even lesser red boobie. Pink perhaps? Kidding aside, I hope you were able to get in to see the doc and everything is ok.
Gail that joke was hilarious, I could tell WHERE it was going, but had no idea of the punch line.....good one! Are you and the girls feeling back to normal?
Kymn, sounds like you're really getting to enjoy your new camper. And of course we miss you. Sorry ‘bout your blistering boobie, hope it isn't too painful. Just remember, it will heal. On the hair, I used a semi permanent hair color, Clairol. Washes out after like 30 washes or something. I think there are 2, one lasts a little longer than the other. And thank you for the compliment, it has taken 3 yrs to get my hair to the length it is now, but needs to be cut something terrible!
Chrissy, the traveling pants are cool! What a neat idea. Did you all get to add to them?
NM, you silly girl! Glad to hear that things are moving along with your issues, but none too serious. Of course it would be better if there were NONE. Loved your wodka and Jocks pic for Chrissy. And that creepy finger/hands keyboard picture! WOWSA!
DorK, good luck at the docs today. I think Chrissy has Scuba has her tour guide today. Enjoy your day Chrissy.
Kathy, you really need to come back PLEEEEEEZE.0 -
Good Morning girls,
Chrissy great of you to pop in for a drinkie poo, sounds like you are having a fabulous time and I love the travelling pants...also that was a great picture of all of you.
Dork good luck to day at your appt.
NM how do you find the best pictures all the time lol I loved the coffee mug. I am glad the ENT appt went well. There is always something though hey lol.
Kitty how is the boobie today? Less red I hope, mine is getting quite red and the areola and nipple are now turning brown.....YUCK.....does anyone know if it goes back to normal once rads are done???
Scuba have a great day showing our Chrissy around, dont get her into tooo much trouble lol.Maybe its the other way around you know those crazy Aussie's
Husker how is school going? did you go without the lid? I did today, first day I feel soooo naked but it also feels good. I coloured my hair a darker colour so it looks a bit fuller lol oh who am I joking but I just couldnt wear that scarf one more day. It does feel liberating.
Goldie wow three years, WEll at least I have something to look forward to when I turn 45 in 3 years I will have long beautiful hair like you
and hey I think I heard 45 is the new 25 anyhow.Claire....good morning are you sleeping away the moring after a long bike ride lol
Ok have to get some work done have a great day all
Hugs Kymn

No Kymm....
I am up and at it, but still feeling all the weekend cycling. I have an interview in a couple of hours and also have to write an introductory email for myself.
The hair thing gets better. Suspect you will find the greatest style along the way.
My big coup was that I did such a good job of supplying "additional information" and challenging the tax bill last month that I got a letter of apology from the IRS!!!! I will most likely have to pay something, but this is something worth framing.
Minor stuff, but my new eBay $10 Ferragamo flats fit and are comfy!!!! I needed a pair of black flats that I could charge around in. Another pair on the way.
Now to get my brain in gear as just 8AM here is Seattle..... - Claire

Love the Traveling Pants!!!!! how totally brilliant of you! Hope I get to see them in person but as it is just a quick airport trip, they will probably be packed away and on route to next plane. Will have to now go back and see what that early morning date is again!
NM- Oh my - well of course that would hurt - who are they kidding? Ouch. I once popped my ear drum. It was before MS was diagnosed and I was standing in the bathroom with a Q-tip and was using it properly on the outside when I just fell over as I sometimes do and in it went and pop! I can NOT begin to tell you how painful that was then of course all the blood. ICK. I called my PCP and he got on the phone - he is Latino and has a very dry sense of humor ( my age too) and he says, now why on earth would you think you did that. I explained it and in my mind could see him shaking his head at me. So I went in. He has the world's tinest sink in his exam room and he had me try and put my head over it while he tried to flush out all the dried blood. Well is ended up being sort of and Awkard Moment ( as my teenagers would say) which of course I got tickled and he who is normally quite serious had to laugh as well. Since they he has been a lot more loose and shows more of his humor to me which is nice. He is quite a good Dr. as once I decided to try and switch to a well known female Dr who I thought could also do the gyn stuff and eliminate one Doc. but when I went to her she saw who my Doc was and said Oh you don't want me - he is the smartest Doc I know of - go back! So I did. It was easy since I got to tell him the story of how this other Doc thought so much of him he took me back. Now why was I telling you this? Oh yes the ear drum. Well, I was on anti -B's for a while then had to go through lots of hearing tests.... It took a long time for it to be allright so NM - I can only imagine your "discomfort "as they say...
Claire - you do have to frame that! You mean there are actual human beings that work there?? Really? Wow, you must have done some amazing work to get that kind of responce. I think if they sent you that letter they should have at least forgiven the money owed. I mean you might show that letter to someone... oh wait, of course no one would belive there really are human beings in that dept. silly me! Anyway, Congrats!
NM- I think I know the problem - well at least down south - they don't sell Baileys at the grocery store - LOL!
Kymn - Wow, brave girl! I'm proud of you, but you are so pretty everyone would be just looking at your smile and happy eyes! good for you! I'll be it did feel good. You know when I had to tell my kids which was truly the most horrible day ever, later my son with his voice shaking asked if I was going to lose my hair. Funny how that is what really scared him. So, I'm thinking your kids are excited as well for all the new hair - I guess a tangible sign of healing and the fear lessening.
Maybe one day I'll go camping - sounds intriguing...
Kitty - hope your reddness is going away - glad the party wasn't too hard on you and maybe you needed the distraction of friends.
Scuba - please let us know how your day went. Wow, Chrissy I admire your stamina! I know these girls all want to show you a good time but hope you are getting in a bit of rest! how are you doing with jet lag? Sounds like you are getting royal treatment! How great is that!! Dork hope your apt. goes well and would LOVE to see pictures when your grown up computer awakens.
Lori- three years, really! Wow, congratulations!!!
Husker - did you tuck that little puppy in your purse for your first day? I probably would have!
Finally - NM - honey and bourbon? Hmmm now that sounds like the perfect gift for some soloist singers I know as both do a great job of clearing out the gunk during cold season for singers!
Happy Wednesday to All!!!!!
Kathy- Miss you! Hope your trip was a grand success!

JOTD:
A woman sitting at a bar says to the barman, "Barfender, I'd like a marhini for my heartburn." The barman mixes her drink and puts in down in front of her.
A few minutes later, she calls him over and says, "Barfender, I'd like a marhini for my heartburn." He rolls his eyes but mixes her drink anyway and sets it down in front of her.
A few minutes later, she waves him over again and says, "Barfender, I'd like a marhini for my heartburn."
The barman looks her up and down and says, "First off, it's bartender, not barfender. Second off, it's martini, not marhini. And third, you don't have heartburn, your boob is in the ashtray."I thought that was excceptionally funny since most of us could be that woman!
0 -
LMAO Gail.................we shall now have (besides our tattie tenders) barfenders and marhinis! At first I typed marfinis....which I suppose would work too!
Stanzie, I had my 3 year mark back in March. I finished chemo in Sept 08, hence 3 yrs of hair growth. I can't wait to get it cut. About the first 6" of it is wavy, and the rest is just pin curls, so anxious to see if I am getting my wavy hair back or if it is just being weighed down from the length? But it is hair, and I shall not complain!
WE NEED MORE AMBER ALERTS....KATHY, BEANS, KAREN, HUSKER....WHERE ARE YOU?

Hi LadieZ......
Just upgraded my Gin and Stale Tonic to a Gin with Fever Tree Bitter Lemon. What a difference. Fever Tree is a mixer made in London from natural ingredients, and the result tastes like a hand-blended cocktail from primo ingredients. Wow!!!!
Light and lemony. Not very sweet either.
Other than that, an interesting day. Interview went well, as I got a connection from it and applied for another position. Learned that another company I was targeting is being acquired so a lucky escape.
The most glorious early evening. However, worrying to see the smoke from the forest fires on the horizon. It has been that dry after a wet spring and early summer.
I will take the sunshine though. Hoping everyone is having the most wonderful evening.
BottomZ up!!!! (With fresh mixers for drinks.....trust me on this one.) - Claire
0 -
Claire - that sounds yummy... will have to try. I used to like bitter lemon on ice cream (instead of root beer) when I was a kid cuz the root beer was too sweet. Glad you got something out of the interview and hoping no more fires. It was 99 degrees where I was today and I'm looking forward to going home to the fog!
0 -
Lori - don't know if I'd want to be called a barf-ender myself... anything ending in "ini" should be assumed to mean marhini.
Since we haven't heard from them I think we should make up stories... what's your guess?
Kathy - stapled her sleeve to a dining room chair and can't get to her PC
Husker - busy teaching Graci Lu to type with her butt
Beans - make up sex
Karen - ummm... funny Pants is missing too !

I'm here....reading but not posting....enjoyed 3 glasses of red wine tonight..and ate too much junk so I could have the wine.....want more, but will regret it tomorrow morning so will stop at 3....the weather is on the news...as soon as its over getting into bed....
0 -
have you seen Pants? LOL
0 -
Ha ha Gail...Gracie is so smart I didn't even hhave to teach her . Shecuses her butt just fine on her own! I wish I could sneak her to school. The kids would lover her!
Kymn, I did go topless yesterday at school. Kids a bit shocked again but teachers were so nice. They love the color and style ( what style- chemo curl?) the kids are blunt, saying it looks like a boy cut but I remind them that isn't nice to say and girls have short hair too. Am very glad to have diced the wig as cute ascit was. Justchave to get usedcto looking in the mirror!0 -
I thought only cats type with their butts - she IS smart! My corgi doesn't type with her butt... actually she's having a hard time. Last night I was horrified to watch her drag her back end across the room like her back legs didn't work any more. She seems fine today though... I've had days like that myself... just worries me because she did have a back injury and we are afraid to put her through surgery at 13 years old plus the vet said the success rate even on a young dog is pretty low. I worry that she may become lame, or worse, suffer. They are like babies when you get them, then like toddlers running around terrorizing the place, then suddenly when you aren't looking they are like grandparents -- it happened so fast! Enjoy your Gracie. I was lucky when I got her that I could take her with me to work (as I did when we got the teeny weener a couple of years ago). Too bad you can't sneak her into the classroom. My friend teaches 1st grade and she developed a lesson plan that REQUIRED a puppy & took hers to meet the kids.
Yeah, I think I would be tempted to go commando if I lost my hair. Especially when it is really hot. Sometimes when I get too hot I wish I could pull my shirt off to get comfortable but we have neighbors now so I don't. It seems so silly... they're not even REAL!

Hello Girls! The foob is not red anymore! Yay! I called my PS and was told to come in Friday morning, unless my symptoms change for the worst. Still on antibiotics for a few more days. I wore a normal bra for a work meeting today, but regretted it at the end of the day. My foob was sore. So, the fugly sports bra is back on!
Astorm - are you sure your dog wasn't doing a butt drag? Mine does that every once in a while. Sometimes their glands get irritated and they do this. It's so funny and gross at the same time! I hope that is the case with your dog and not a back problem.
0 -
No, I've seen that action though! She wasn't quite sitting... her legs were dragging behind her and she was pulling herself with her front legs. The vet located a fracture in her back last year. At the time she was in pain and I gave her pain meds and a hot bath with warm towels (and cancelled our vacation). Sometimes in the morning she has a hard time getting up on all fours - we try not to rush her. I haven't seen her drag her legs like that before but DH mentioned it about a week ago. Makes me so sad.
Speaking of itchy pets... I have a tigger cat who is allergic to fleas and licks himself all day. He is going bald! And he does not have fleas. They just don't look so good without the fur...

Gail, when I first moved into my house my beautiful little Liesl hurt her back going down the steps. She made it outside but hid in some deep ivy and it took us over an hour to find her. When we did, she could barely walk. I took her to the vet and he said she probably would never walk again and they wanted to keep her. Well she had never spent a night away from me and never not slept in a bed so I sort of freaked and said it would kill her to stay over night at the vets. So he begrudgingly let me take her home on Valium and Steriods. He told me I would need to get a crate and not let her even try to walk for 2-3 weeks. So I bought a crate - fixed it up fit for a princess of course and carried it around with me to each room I was in but she hated it and cried. So of course I took her out and just carried and held her. I would hold her back legs while she went to the bathroom and continued to carry her everywhere. Being on Valium helped her be groggy but it also made her thirst which made her need to pee so.... well you can see how my days went... We had just moved in - boxes everywhere and I'm in the beginings of a divorce - Yep just a bit stressed!!! Anyway, by the second week she was getting up without me and walking!! I tried to limit it but it got so she was able to walk and wanted to. I took her back and the vet was totally stunned. He said he was positive she wouldn't walk again. So I know with older dogs surgery is very scary but if it is something don't give up hope! Just take extra care and give her some rest and hopefully she will be up and about soon! I did keep Valium on hand and later when she would run too much and I could tell her back was hurting I would immediately give her some more Valium just to knock it out quickly. Anyway hope your little Corgi will be feeling better soon! I know you are worried.

Ladies, sorry for the delay.
First off DorK is having issues with her PC connection, so it may be a nit, plus, our shared PT/psycho guy really stretched heroutand worked her over. They are in NYC today (despite less than great weather), so hopefully long update soon as I saw nothing on Chrissy's blog.
I got the opportunity to show Chrissy a bit of my neighborhood, Olde City, in Philadephia. She is quite the shutterbug! Was sorry to have missed the Monday dinner but had the fun of lunch and a visit. We reconnected with Dorothy after her PT and they were heading home to Dorothy's, all well but for connectivity to the internet.
Chrissy, you are awesome, I made a deal that when I get to Australia to dive on the Great Barrier Reef, I will make my way for a visit - it is a big country!!!!
On my front, well my back, they manipulated the last drain a bit, still hurts but draining far too much for removal, will have to just deal with it. Also will have to have the other side aspirated. Beginning Friday morning, then as needed, bummer.0 -
Oops, hit submit, anyway, having a Foster's Lager Beer for breakfast in the lounge in honour (spelling intentional) of Chrissy. Godspeed on your travels and joy to all whose company you will share. I am a newbie to this site but so glad to have found it, Cheers Ladies!

Hello loungettes,
Scuba, we have not left yet, Chrissy is on Aussie time and still sleeping lol. I am still without internet. Am sitting outside under an awning, in the rain to get connected via neighbor's unsecured wifi. It was so nice to see you again. And is seems that now, we will be sharing the same PS as well as PT. Sadly, my PS has lung cancer and is retiring. I just love him to peices and am so sad to see him leave. I will be switching to another partner at the practice and picked your doctor. My PS does not know that I know he has lung cancer but I was able to get some info from our PT and in fact, he does not have much time left. I am devastated. He is a great doctor. I showed Chrissy photos of what my former PS did to me and it is amazing how this guy fixed me up. I thought I had the boob in my armpit but my PT said that is the expander extending out. So I am confident that I will get bixed real soon. Scuba, I am joining ya for a drinkypoo.
You girls have been on a roll. between Stanzie learning to post pics, the JOTD and the list of what our MIA's girls are doing, I was rolling laughing. It took me forever to catch up here.
Well I will hop back a page and try to comment more. You all know me, I have A LOT to say to each of you. God willing, my connection will not take a pooop. So pisssssssed that I have been down now for the third day. Verizon stinks, this is too frequent and the timing is just awful. Chrissy has been able to get on here and there via my lovely neighbors (thank you netgear, thank you Linsyx) lol!
Just love you girls and can not wait to get my connection as I have soooooo many pics to post.
Missing Kathy and Beanie so much.
Kymn, you are BACK. I can "read" in your posts how well you are doing. YOU did it and are near the end of the shittttiest part of your journey. I am soooo proud of you girl, you done goot!
Husker, nice to see you back. Keep enjoying your Gracie Lu. I just love puppies and would love to add a half dozen to my home but two doggies are enough. So glad you are near the end as well (or are you done and I missed the partay)??
NM, loved your posts yesterday. Sorry I have to go back a page but there was one in particular that had me rolling. Chrissy and I talk about all you ladies with such great fondness and you NM are surely one of my many favorite gals here.
Didn't I tell ya Scuba that NM has the most awesome posts. Oh, and when she drinks as she did yesterday, she really gets on a roll.
Gail, glad all is well with your DD. You were also on a roll here, I havce missed you girls so much but between hanging with my VIP guest and this darn net, it is hard to keep up.
Kathy, uhh, seems I do not know the difference between a bird and a bug lol but loved the art all the same. talk about being embarrsed (she knows what I mean). miss you sooooo much and praying for yours parents to keep up the good work. Glad to know that things are good for them. When do they come back?
Kitty, yippie for no red. I was scared for you as I have been through it three times to many and my red never went away. Nine surgeries later, I am doing fantastico and hope you continue to do the same. i just love your profile pic, me tinks you are so very pretty. You have gone through soooo much but can still laugh. Glad your partay turned out ok. I agree that I would rather have the money to spend on me lol.
Well I shall pop into my home and check on the beautiful Chrissy. Can not believe that she will leave me tomorrow. Other than being such a beautiful lady to hang with, she is so very wise and so very kind with a heart of gold. She is like a super nanny in mediating between me and my DH. She thinks he is worth keeping. Both he and I have followed her advise and things are getting better between us. I am sooooo thankful to have her as one my very breast fwends in the world.
Lori, I will message you back, God willing.
Love you chicks and stay tuned, I will be on a roll with pics once I get my internet back up n running.
CheerZ and all have a great day!!!
Love,
DorK

Oh DorK - what a lovely thing to say about someone! Chrissy truely must be quite inspiring to say the least. I have read many people say similar things about how she helps others just by what she says. I know one other person like that and it doesn't matter what we talk about, I always feel stronger and better after spending time with her. What a lovely gift. I'm so glad you all had such a wonderful visit and you certainly showed her royal treatment. How amazing really when you think about this.... women who have never met connected by such a horrendous disease can meet and click and form meaninful true friendships! This site and especially this thread is a silver lining for all of us!
Especially reading these posts and connections where women have taken time out of their busy lives to travel and connect is such a blessing and inspiration to us all!
Well, I'm off to have a belated birthday lunch with one dear friend and another who I haven't seen in almost 5 years since the breakup of my college friends. So I'm excited to see her and reconnect. People are what matter! I stayed last night with my music director and his wife, helped them get dinner and we ended up talking till after 1:30am! They are night owls! They are in their mid 80's and such amazing minds! I could just sit there for ever and just listen, I learn so much every time I'm with them. I hate that they are older and have so many physical difficulities but grateful for every minute I can spend with them. Didn't get much sleep as by the time I got home and settled it was really late and then couldn't sleep, isn't that always the way. Well hope everyone has a wonderful Thusday! It is cool here today but I know that won't last for long.

Dork-hacking into the neighbor's internet? What next for the DorK? Stating a new job as computer hacker? Hope you get your own internet up soon!

Goldie-Liked the hands on the keyboard, did ya? Welcome to what my dreams have been like lately! Seriously, the nightmares are less frequent, and I am now concentrating on my vacation that starts next week. Vegas here I come!
Kymn-yup, always something. I've had sinus problems for years, just like my mother, and I'm wondering just where this is going to go after the CT. IF I can get through the CT. But that's AFTER vacay, not going to worry about it now! Hooray for shedding the lid!

Claire-good lick with the interview. I've not heard of writing an intro e-mail about yourself. Interesting thing, I can see where that would give a lot of good info about a job candidate. Absolutely frame the Letter of Apology from the IRS-it may be worth a fortune some day.

Stanzie-it is rare for one doc to tell someone to go back to another doc! You must have a wonderful doc! BTW, they do sell Baileys in the grocery stores here in Maine. I found caramel Baileys, but not choco mint. Granted, most of the likker space is taken up with beer, vodka, and Allen's Coffee Brandy (local joke) but there are a few other things from time to time. There are almost no likker stores in Maine anymore, we usually get all out likker from the grocery or convenience store. And the Wild Turkey American Honey is just about the only hard likker I can drink straight, and it is GOOOOOOOOOOD!
AStorm-LOL! Good one!

Claire-Fever Tree Bitter Lemon sounds like a wonderful mixer! Hooray for the connection, and whew to the close call. I can imagine how frightening it is to see smoke from nearby forest fires. I'd be a total wreck!

Karen-going to bed after the weather are you? With Pants, I presume, since he is still missing?

Huscker-Gracie sounds like a winner! I know of a couple of people who make butt calls on their cell phones, never head of cats and dogs doing it. . .

Kittycat-Hooray for unred foobies! Good point about the butt drag, around here we call it the "scoot" and means the anal glands are blocked. Fortunately, when Sadie's get blocked she can usually unblock them herself by doing the scoot on the grass in the yard. Oh-reading further, sounds like that's not AStorm's baby's problem. Poor baby.
Stanzie-I can imagine you decorating a crate like a fairy tail princess's room for Leisl. I can also picture Leisl not liking the crate AT ALL! Sometimes it's just easier to carry them around, when they're little.

Scuba-sorry about the drain pain and aspiration pocket. So disappointing when that stuff happens. Thanks, too, for the update on Chrissy and DorK. Internet connection problems seem to be a theme recently.

DorK-Thank goodness for unsecured WiFi systems! Glad Chrissy is having a good time with you and that you and DH are in a better place. Thanks for the lovely comments on my posts, too!

Stanzie-isn't it amazing what knowledge and memories the older folks have? That's part of my job that I just love, listening to the stories and first hand memories of historic occasions, and local lore. Such fun, so glad you have an opportunity to spend time with this couple!

Just popping in to bow out. I have done a horrible thing and hurt a dear friend, for which I can't apologize enough for, and just feel awful. Just don't know what to say. Love all of you, take care!
0 -
Can you send flowers Goldie??? Time for the grand gesture.
Have been keeping up, but not posting that much. Think I have an interview later today, and need to follow up on another connection.
NM....very common to write your own letter of introduction and then have the person doing the intro just edit. This could be a critical contact.
Feel oddly optimistic. I am putting together a huge puzzle which is the picture of my future career and I think general life. So very intriguing as all the pieces fall into place. I am thinking more likely industry than a research firm.
As I learn more and more, I am acutely aware that "jobs" is only part of the problem. The greater one is "skills", as what I is are jobs going begging because no one to fill them. I have no idea what percent is in each bucket. Right now, there are enough people deferring retirement to make up a good portion of this gap, but won't be the case forever. If I had either platform experience or deep statistical skills, I would have been working three months ago. Operational is a harder sell.
Anyway, back to the search, and putting the next pieces of the puzzle in place. Something will be a "hit". - Claire

NM - what fun you are -- butt-scootin and everything! Love the graphic depiction of the anal glands. When DD wanted to get a puppy I told her about that little procedure and she didn't believe me so she googled it ... YouTube was not nearly as cute! That drink looks so yummy... where IS Pants?
Stanzie - I can't imagine WD not sleeping in a bed... with his peeps! Every time we go on vacation we discuss boarding our pets and just can't do it. The corgi is too old and WD needs to sleep with us. The last time I boarded my cats I found this really nice ($$$) cat B&B. An entire house was converted to "cat condos" that were ceiling-high with climbing structures. The mom worked there as the official "cat petter". Our kitties got to stay in the same condo and I really thought they would be ok for a couple of days. When I came to pick them up the big, lovey one that just purrs non-stop even while WD chews on him was up on a high shelf and would not come down... not even for me and he loves me more than a ball of string. We had to get a ladder and when I climbed up to retrieve him I found that he reeked of urine and had lost weight. Never again. Most of my pets usually experience some sort of expensive medical trauma... corgi had pancreatitis (while we were on vacation, thankfully she was with us), corgi #2 had multiple organ failure from too many vaccinations (while we were on vacation and he was being boarded so he didn't survive), my lovey tigger ate sewing thread and spent 6 hours in the OR (guess what that cost!) after spending a week in a different vet's office while they tried to figure out why he was so sick. Now I like to keep them close.
Lori - oh dear. Life is too short and the bar is getting awful quiet. Hope you both can heal the wounds.
Claire - it is a tough market. Hang in there. My DH was unemployed for about 6 months a couple of years ago. Now he is afraid of layoffs again as his company is merging so he has been looking for about 6 months, though not as fervently. He is "of a certain age" and is getting a little discouraged because we realize that we still have quite a few years left in our working lives, especially with 2 kids to get through college. He did have a good phone interview yesterday and that gave him some encouragement. As you know, the process is basically a sales job and you have to just get the pipeline going - sounds like you have done a great job of that - and not over analyze each situation that didn't work out. Every time I got on the phone to follow up after presentations I imagined stuffing manicotti so tightly that the filling spilled out the other end.
JOTD: Charles Dickens walks into a bar. Bartender says, "Olive or twist?"
The Oliver Twist Lounge is Raleigh, North Carolina's premiere Wine & Martini Bar. Hmmm...

I'm bowing out too. Tried to keep things off the thread, but now, "behind the scenes" I am being blamed for the thread falling apart. I have taken enough blame, and can't take any more. I love some of you very much and those that want to, know how to get in touch with me. Keep the HTL going, it can be a very good thing!
