Missing my DD#1 already... I want to finish setting up my office but I'm having trouble taking her bed out of there. I think in my subconscious I'm pretending she still lives here (even tho she made me crazy). Maybe I'll just move her bed into her sister's room when she's not home... then I can work on my room and deal with DD2's irritation later... she has such a tender heart maybe I can just tell her the truth. Problem is, DH wants to put the bed in DD2's room and will make it hard for me to move it later. Maybe I just need a drink...

Need one too. Just not a fun day as some bad news of a personal nature. (I am fine though.) And general frustration on top of this.
Then one of my friends called to tell me her good news that she is getting a better position with more $$$$ very close to home and I couldn't even congratulate her properly.
My former business partner is interviewing at a nonprofit which rescues women and children worldwide. I told her to ask herself the question if she could deall with horrific stories on a daily basis which is what this position would require. I am hoping she gets another slot where she was introduced to the director today.
I am wondering if Beans felt the earthquake (off Vancouver Island). I didn't here in Seattle, but she is on the Coast, so would be closer to the fault line.
Off cycling in the AM.....new area for me and should be fun. After today, I am ready of a pitcher of something super strong. Anyone else in????? - Claire

Just had a lovely evening... there is a fish market near our house that has a party every Froday night. They offer a flight (of wines) and grill, with live music. I started the generous flight while DH had a burger and beer. My friend's brother was there with his wife -- nice to see them -- and then my friend and her SO showed up with their puppy.... we shared some cheese and then ended the evening at the bakery where DD1 worked for coffee and cookies. Got to chat a little about my "bed issue" ... my friend's DD is the same age as my youngest so she hasn't experienced the DD leaving home yet but her neices have flown the coup. I can't even imagine how those mothers of abducted children feel...

DorK, Glad your DH made some $, that always makes our gambling trips worthwhile! Hope he doesn't end up giving it back to the casino, though. Sawrry you lost your $20, but gotta look at it as "entertainment" moola. There are some machines that just take my money, but I have fun playing them and can play for a long time on $5-10. Then there are other machines I put more money in, cause they usually pay off, as long as I can hang in there long enough! Does DH play machines or table games? We usually do pretty well at bj, and my DH likes craps too. Have FUN!!! And hope your soreness will go away since you are resting a bit.
Gail, Sounded like a lovely evening! Hard about the bed issue. Since my DD2 left home at 15 to board at the Math&Science school several hours away, she still lived at home during summer and some weekends, so I kept her room as is. Same when she went off to college,BUT I had been widowed and not remarried yet, so with a 4br house I still had an office room. When both girls left home for good I remarried and then we had TWO guest rooms which were not used too much, just when my parents or friends came to visit. SO when we moved where we are now (still 4 br) I just kept 1 room for guests, and now I could use 2-3 rooms, since DD1 has a family of 5, and out-of-state now! It is a mess when they visit as I try to put those inflatable large beds everywhere, but not much room as I really filled up this house! So I guess it might also depend on how often you think your DD will be back home? Very hard decision to make, as you would make good use of an office room! Hmmmm.....I did see a really nice plan for a murphy bed....LOL.
Gawgeous sunny day here, and temps have been in 70's.....very nice time of year. Hope everyone will have a great weekend!!!! When is our next lampshade partay???

Well, I can see this has been a chatty lounge since my last post, so I best get to reading.....
Indeed Katrinka, life is good at The HTL!NM, I hope you are able to feel better too. I hear ya on not wanting to take more meds. I just added another one, but was able to quit one (as it wasn't doing what it was suppose to). I hate to see any of my buds depressed, can't even imagine what that would be like. And oh ya, I forgot, we ALL LOOK GOOD in bikinis here! That "Reconciler" looks yummy, but sounds HORRID (the ingredients)DorK, so sorry you had to say good bye to Chrissy, but look at the FABULOUS time you had, and not just with her, but with all the other ladies you have met. I think we are all jealous! Have a GrrrrrrEAT time in AC. I had to laugh at each time you went potty, another loungette showed up. When DH and I go to Laughlin, seems every time I hit the powder room, he would win!
Chrissy, indeed the trip of a lifetime! So many of us are very jealous! You have done such a great job in posting the trip and the photos. I am so looking forward to the rest of your journey. May it be as joyful as NY and NJ! But now, on the traveling pants. Oh gosh you ladies were funny last night. I ended up taking a nap after we got home, from 3-5, and I never nap, then went to bed at 7. Got medication (oh yippy, another pill) for my thyroid and will have to have esophagus scope beginning of next month. Actually looking forward to that, just the sleep! Even though it's short.0 -

Morning ladies, am in the lounge today, after hosting an impromptu real world lounge at home last night ( or my DH did), I just had fun. What started with 2 friends coming over to smoke cigars and watch a ball game evolved into a dozen people, take out Chinese and lots of drinks! Of course, I had to go to bed before the fun ran out, but will take it.
Anyhow, remaining drain still hurts, fluid is reaccumulating, think I will need another aspiration next week - at least I know what to expect.
On a more lounge relevant note, am starting the day with a Bloody Mary, extra horseradish and a pepperoncini for some zip. Sunny day in Philadelphia, cheers all!0 -

~~~yawn~~~ Kahty, I just woke up after a long nap. I had such a great time last night once I finally left the room and was still dwunk in the morning. Had to come home early as DH had to work but we had a nice time in AC. I came home with less money in my pocket than I went with, for sure. Ended up hitting the ATM for another 60.00. I was up at one point but ended up losing only 40.00, not bad for a great night of entertainment. DH has all the comps for the dinners and shows. He had tickets for The Price is Right again but we arrived too late for the show.I play video poker and really have fun. They have real tenders and they gives me tons of fwee dwinkies. DH plays poker. We usually put more aside to gamble but times are tough. We had a great time just the same.
I tink me is going to have to settle on water tonight at the lounge, not up for drinking....that tells you I may have had a weeee little too much last night/this morning. Feeling a bit lonely without my mate from Austriallia. Chrissy, I just know you are having a blast with Amy Jo. Keep us posted.
I think I will be back in my bed pretty early tonight. I really shorted myself on sleep this past week and it is great to be able to just catch up. I want to make sure i get up early for church tomorrow. I am not sure where I am going, perhaps to my church but have started church hopping.
Scuba, sorry about those stinkin drains, they suck and I know it. I hope the drainage starts to go down soon and you kick them to the curb. Glad you had a nice fried-dey night with your friends. Lori, I can't possibly keep up with all the names that Wahine has but I cracked up at the Jackie (of all trades), you can say that again. I was talking to Chrissy about how much energy she has and we both feel slighted in that department. Hope you are having a good Saturday and getting some rest, you are another that is always either working or on the go. Ughh, where is my energy? I was soooo zapped last night at the hotel that I could hardly move. It took me three hours of just sitting to get the energy up to have a bath and go down and gamble. But once I started, I was moving. I am upset that I misplaced my pedometer, I get health care bucks for walking. do you think Kathy would mind if I asked her to where it FOR me? I have been trying to find an energetic friend to help me earn more dough to pay my doctor bills which are starting to accumulate. I think I owe over 8k in medical. I just put the bills to the side and will call about payment plans next week.
I really am in a rare somber mood. Missing Chrissy and feeling emotional as the 10th anniversary of 9/11 appoaches. It will be a hard day for me as it is every year. I will be glued to the TV and watching coverage and will surely have a lot of cleansing tears. It is a day none of us will ever forget. It just stinks that there are bad people in the world that hate us here in the USA and have the balls to take down so many innocent lives. Ugh, thinking maybe I DO need a drink....

Hi DorK.....Know what you mean about 9-11. I was there.
I did a kick butt, but with a "singles" group. I know why they are single!!! I got chided for going on too difficult a ride and how they all had to wait for me. I had asked upfront. So their problem. Anyway, I got to see a new part of the Puget Sound, so worth it for the scenery. No pix, as no time to stop for such frivolities.
Anyway, have a much friendlier ride planned for the AM. Off to roof deck party with blueberry clafoutis and champagne. Clafoutis is almost done, and just needs a dusting of confectioners sugar.
Party should be great fun. Maybe we'll even get to see the Northern Lights tonight. That would be beyond cool. BubbZ to all. - Claire

DorK (and alll) have had an hour of my feet in my hot tub. GD drains suck, but am living through Ketel One Vodka, Club soda and pomegranente juice in the lounge. Having kind of a bad night, a friend was over for dinner, used to the hot tub but got in her suit before I offered. Nothing like a bib boobed friend to remind me what I lost.

Thanks, needed another person to not feel so alone. Having a shitty night, a good friend, I mean a good friend came by, usual, my hot tub was at 102, she didn't mean it it by waving her 42DD foobs around, while I cant even sit in made me feel awful. This on top of an October appt to figure out what I am going to do about birth control... Feeling inadequate and not drunk enough. Need my friends....

*putting my arms around you*, giving you a cyber hug. Really sad when these moments happen. How long till you can use your hot tub? Is there anyway you can drain it till then? We never use ours, although I built a deck platform for it, and we paid to move it here, Now I need someone to haul it off...still looks new inside, but I can't handle that much heat anymore. So for me, I don't have to worry about someone else getting in it and making me feel badly. Wish your friend had considered your feelings, but it probably didn't even cross her mind. I'm very sorry....here, have another dwink (or several)!
