LOL, Lori I LOVE your new name! Vavavooooom!!! "Sugar Lusty Heat"...my, my my, what should we think of that??? ROFLMAO. Oh now Pants will be chasing you constantly!!!! Now THAT name is better than mine, of Raquel Leather Rock! I am so glad you found that, and posted it, now hope the other loungettes will figure out their names, and post it here!!! WooHoo! I guess that was Dee's name that was "Montana Silver Ridge"? Yeah, that one is kinda lame. Oh, and what a sweet thing your niece made, after 911. Just precious. We sometimes forget how this affects the kids, who were watching all of that, too. So sweet of her!!! I forgot about your trip coming up! How long will you be visiting everyone? Stopping anywhere near me???

Karen, I share in your crush of "Sir Paul"! Back in the day, "Sgt Peppers" album was played at most of our parties...such good memories. Since I am a bit older than most of you, I remember in '63 when I first heard "I want to hold your hand" on the radio, and was a bit upset as I had just called in a request but they played that instead! LOL. Then came the love affair with Paul (I was only 13). My first DH looked a bit like him, but not nearly as cute! I do think Paul has aged well and looks smashing!!! Hope you are feeling better, too.

DorK, Can imagine how much you are missing Chrissy! You both had such an awesome time together. Hope your appt goes well today!

    Cheerio Chickadees, and Happy Dey-Before-Toosdey!

    Hugsssssss,

    Raquel Leather Rock

Hey ladies, good morning. DorK hope the appt. went well. I go see Dr Copit tomorrow am. Drain 4 is now blocked internally, not sure if they can roto-rooter it some how. At 5 weeks, I am ready to lose it. I assume I will need additional aspirations (at least with that I know what to expect).

Anyhow, heading to the lounge for a cocktail, thinking a Ketel One martini, dry and up, with a twist, using my stripper alias which is Candy Glitz Thighs, too funny!

    Cheers to a good day.

OMG, too funny. Kathy, you are still Raquel, so funny. Is this where you got it from in the first place? I was too dwunk to remember but do recall the name addition. And Lori, we should have the same first name as I do unless I am doing this wrong, Sugar.  What a great addition to the lounge, I was not here yet back then.  You are so good at finding things posted in the past, don't know how ya do it.

So, ok, me tinks I am now Sugar Dazzle Thighs, oh my, love it, makes me feel sexxxxxy lol.

Just got back from the dentist, all did go well, thanks. I now have a numb mouth, nose and eyeball.  Hoping that my contact lens does not give me trouble, I may just pull out my eye ball by axardent. lol.

Cheerz, Raquel Leather Rock and Montana Silver Ridge! Rounds of hugs coming atcha girls! Later, ladies, time to switch the laundry!

Darn Scuba, you sure are having a time with those darned Pratt Bros. They really don't have a very good reputation around here.....besides, they cheat!

DorK, I just use the "search" engine here on BCO to find things. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't! Sugar DazzleThighs....that is cute! I think I will put my name in my profile or in my tag line, otherwise I will forget it!

Katrinka, unless Bama has moved, I don't think I will be anywhere near you. Only day that will be is Oct 23rd. But anyways, I return from MI on the 25th. That will be a LONG day, as I will have to be up very early to get to the airport, 4 hr flight and then 4 hr drive home! Getting up early at home is not a problem as I go to be so early, but when I am in MI, my brother and I stay up way late!

Good afternoon, Loungettes! I am just now getting moving after an absolutely INSANE weekend! I know full moon weekends are going to be busy. I know the weekend before I go on vacation is going to be busy. But when the full moon weekend IS the weekend before vacation, HOLY COW! 3 short nights, 2 very long days and I am FRIED. And, of course, I have packing and housework and other stuff to do before I leave early Wed! Ah, well, it'll all get done, it always does. So let me try to catch up while I'm taking a breather and getting ready to tackle the next project, whatever that ‘s going to be.

DorK-I'm so glad you and Chrissy had a good time. I'd love to see NY some day, you know, do the tourist things. Sounds like you found a new friend thu Chrissy-what a hoot! I can't wait to see the pics, and your internet will work when it will. . .

Chrissy-wishing you the best on the next leg of your trip! Keep in touch!

Scuba-I'll let you in on a little secret, I have a special web site that has lots and lots of drink recipes, I pick one I like and make up a new name for it! But shhh, don't tell the others, they all think I'm some kind of drink recipe mastermind!

Kymn-why is it we always end up doing our house work on our days off? Yuck!

    The "Official" HTL Clock:

Sheryll-you're getting the idea! The "official" HTL Calendar:

    AStorm: LOL @ JOTD!

Beanie-where ever you are it's Happy Hour every hour!!!

Claire---Hope the boys found you a pitcher of something that made your evening a little better. Sorry for bad news. Not fun when you are in limbo yourself.

I have this mental picture of DorKy lost in a pile of pillows and cushions!

And Wahine peeking around a pile of inflatable beds!

Goldie-I think a nap is one of life's little luxuries, one I try to indulge in as often as possible. Unfortunately, life tends to get in the way!

DorK-sounds like you are in Chrissy withdrawal! I'm sure you'll recover with time, at least I hope so! I really wanted to see the TV special that was going to be running Sunday, but no one I was visiting had it on. So I'll have to watch for a replay. That was a hard, hard day. And a very odd time for a while-there's a relatively busy small airport not too far from me, I'm used to seeing airliners in the sky. It was very, very odd to only see and here the military planes from the base those days. You can hear the difference when they take off, fly over and land since the military doesn't use the "noise abatement" procedures the airliners do, and they fly lower. Very ominous sound. The base near me is an air refuling base, so they were busy continuously keeping other flighters fueled up. Rumor has it they even refueled Air Force One during that time, but I think that's only rumor.

They're called the Mainiacs, and tnhey are the Air National Guard 101st Air Refuiling Wing

    Claire-what is clafoutis?

Scuba-I'm so sorry you are feeling so down, I can see why. Nothing about this bc crap is fair. It must have been really strange to be flying on 9/11. What was it like? Did you know what was going on? Did you get stuck somewhere? If I'm being nosy it's ok to say so, BTW.

Husker-hmm, ambien inspired IPad typing, a new activity for us! Sounds like fun! And yeah, we get the pre-appointment anxiety syndrome. I'm 4 ½ years out and STILL get it.

Been thinking about 9/11, and remembered that some of the terrorists came into the US through Maine, through the airport in Portland that I will be flying out of on Wednesday. Sobering thought.

AStorm-how hard that day must have been for you, and strong you had to be to get through it.

Karen-how awful for your friend's daughter! I hope they do find out what happened, that makes the situation somehow a little easier.

Thanks for finding that, Goldie! My name was/is Princess Glitter Sizzle using my real name, and Raquelle Leather Lola using my screen name. I think I'm going to combine them into Princess Leather Sizzle!

Scuba-hopefully the PS will decide the internal blockage is a message to lose that thing!

DOTD, hmm.  How about The Traveling Fool?

    1 1/2 oz Brandy
    1/2 oz Triple Sec
    1 oz Madeira

    Directions
Pour the brandy, madeira wine and triple sec into a mixing glass half-filled with ice. Stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

Whoa, nice post NM! Love the kid with the bird... he seems kind of ok about it LOL. Once when my DD2 was in kindergarten her teacher had been talking about birds. We were telling silly kid jokes as we walked through a parking lot (there are always lots of sea gulls overhead here). DD looked up and asked, "Why doesn't a bird pee on people?" to help her with her joke, I said, "I don't know! What doesn't a bird pee on people?" She said "because their bodies don't make urine but the liquid is mixed with feces and comes out together. But it's not like when people have liquid, that's called diary-bah."  ooooo-kay...

I painted my office yesterday - Benjamin Moore's Classic Brown. It looks like chocolate. There are white plantation shutters and white trim; my desk is actually a pine table my mom bought me for my first house - I sanded it and put clear Briwax on it and then rubbed it until there is slight glow (those compression hose from surgery came in handy!). Just put up my bulletin board (the one I made with an old frame and burlap over foam core). I finished painting at 10PM so there are some touchup spots. The hardest part was where the brown meets the white ceiling. I never use tape or a metal edge and it would have been impossible here because it's a vaulted ceiling - 16 feet at the peak and I had a 12' ladder... wished I was about 2 inches taller. i never thought I'd be able to stretch my arms like that again after surgery. DD2 painted her room herself last year and the ceiling line is a little messy. I guess that should be my next project...

    JOTD:

What is brown and smells like blue paint?

    Brown paint.

NM - what a heck of a post. Agree, hope that the clogged drain is a sign for removal, it is 5 weeks out, and I lost a lot of foobage so there is still a fair volume of fluid draining from where the drain comes out (should buy stock in maxi pads!). Will see what happens in a.m. With the PS.

As far as 9/11, I flew from Philly to Chicago, early flight, so was in the rental car when news broke. But could not call DH or anyone. Worst was an employee of mine flew out of Newark, NJ and was meeting me at the office. He had only been married 4 weeks. I heard one of the flights was out of Newark, he should have been to the office when I got there. Worst 45 minutes of my life until he showed up. We drove directly back east immediately, so I have no visual recollections of any of it, just what we heard on the radio. Sad time for all of us...

Safe travels, enjoy your vacay. I can't wait to plan one once iknow next surgery date. In 6 months plan to be posting some underwater scuba diving shots, implants at 100 feet below sea level!

Cheers all, thanks for helping me through a less than stellar day.

Good afternoon ladies, Princess Glitter Tower signing in Laughing lmao how very suiting as you all had designated me a princess months ago I guess its official.

I am very emotional reading all the posts from you ladies from the weekend. I too watched footage of 9/11 I remember clearly where I was when it all went down, I was pregnant with my daughter and wathcing regis and Cathy Lee while working out on my treadmill, I just couldnt believe the horror I was seeing, I couldnt even comprehend if it was real or not at first.

Dorothy I went to the travelling pants website, so very emotional I think of my best friend who died at 34 of this horrific disease and brings back so many memories of going through it with her. I cant believe it is now my turn. How many  more until we find a cure ???

I had a busy weekend, DH was in a ball tournement this weekend so spent alot of time at the ball fields, also I went to a BBQ for the breas a bridge rowing team and met a bunch of the ladies. Looking forward to getting to know them better.

Scuba I feel your frustration with not being able to use your hot tub. I havent been able to use mine since January and I miss it so much. A couple of times people came over and wanted to use it , it sucked so bad haveing to sti out on the deck and watch them in there. I know they didnt know that it hurt me but it just casts another light on what I was going through. But in a couple of months just try and get me out of there.

Well my last rad treatment in on the 21st so I am offically on count down. Also speaking of count down I am down 13 lbs of my 24 gained during treatment hopefully the rest comes off quickly.

    Love to you all

Gail - so very sorry to hear about your DH's brother, that is terribly sad, I'm sorry.

Duchess - 5 Weeks! Yikes, you are a trooper! I've had drains 4 times (lump, bmx, exchange & revision) but never more than 3 weeks. I learned to shower safely with drains (sshhhh) and I had this great jacket with pockets you could access from the inside, so I slipped the bulb thingys in there and went back to work... my clients never knew. Of course, that is probably why I had them for so long... When the PS pulled the drains after my exchange he said I could go back to work in a week... LOL, I had come there from work and was going to visit another client. I just don't know how I managed when I had them as a kid (tummy "sugary" at 10 YO).  I sure hope you get rid of your soon.. they yukky.

I heard a funny story over the weekend... remember the neighbor who called the County and told them our dogs bark 24/7? The guy actually told DH that he went to an attorney about suing us! He told us that the attorney knew us so we talked to our frined, the attorney, who told us there was no confidentiality required but our neighbor is a j@ck@ss. Apparently he asked the jerk if he had TALKED to his neighbor about the problem and couldn't believe that this guy wanted to pay an attorney to talk to his neighbor -- assumed the neighbor must be a real piece of work... then when he found out who it was he told him he couldn't represent him due to conflict of interest but that he knew us and that we are good people and he should talk to us. Of course, he never did until DH confronted him. I'm wondering how to get rid of him... not that I want anything bad to happen to him.... maybe he could fall in love with someone who llives far, far away... I do want him to be happy, just ... far, far away. Perhaps there is a hex of some sort...

Oh My, Gail, thank god the atty knew you! Sometimes neighbors can be S-C-A-R-Y! Your new office sounds sooooo pretty brown, and with nice vaulted ceilings! Good for you; you went right to it and got it done!!!

Lisa, So sorry about that dang drain...my longest was in for 5 wks too and I was sooooo sick of it!

OK, so we now can add "Princess Glitter Tower" (Kymn), and "Princess Leather Sizzle" (NM)! What a motley bunch we are! LOL. NM, loved your post as always, esp the Happy Hour Clock, and you just knew I was stuck in those inflatable beds, didn't you? LOL. I also wondered what "claufoutis" was, so maybe Claire will have a chance to answer you.

Gawgeous day here, hope everyone is doing well! Showed the condo, now back home to do some work.

    Cheerzzzzz!

Hi all!   This is Sugar Glitter-Cheeks reporting to you from the glorious Outer Banks.  On arrival late Saturday afternoon and on completion of the booking into a hotel process I was accompanied by Miss Amyjo and Miss SV to a diner by the name of The Tomato Patch.  After a good night sleep we all went shopping and I bought myself a lovely pair of bathers but the funny thing is, AJ bought the exact same pair...lol....so now we are known as the 'twinkie twins'.  Of course you can't have new togs without christening them so we headed up the Island to the beach where you can drive on the sand and I officially swam in the Atlantic Ocean........and it was glorious!!!!

This is Sugar Glitter-Cheeks signing off for the News of the day on HTL.

Oh such nice pictures, Ms Sugar Glitter Cheeks! I loved the word "bathers"...didn't hear that in OZ, but then again I didn't get a chance to go swimming, it was a bit nippy at the time. Maybe if I had been "a bit nippy" I wouldn't have noticed.....or even REAL dwunk...lol. Love hearing of your adventures, Chrissy!

Yeah, Claire where are ya? Can't wait to hear what your name is! And Stanzie, Beans, Karen, Kristy, and omg I am sure I am missing someone. Is everyone gonna find their new name??? So far we have:

    Lori....Sugar Lusty Heat

    Lisa....Candy Glitz Thighs

    DorK....Sugar Dazzle Thighs

    Kathy...Raquelle Leather Rock

    NM.......Princess Glitter Sizzle

    Kymn....Princess Glitter Tower

    Gail......Lola Leather Thong

    Chrissy..Sugar Glitter Cheeks

(Hope I got those correct!) Some of those names make me blush...nah, not really! But they are such fun!Embarassed

Sugar Dazzle Thighs here reporting to Pau Hana, drink em up, drink em down!  I take that dazzle is the "new cellulite" ha!

Gail, my people can move your neighbor's away, where do they want their house? Some people just need something to complain about. Your room sounds lovely, lola leather thong lol. Love your name, you naughty gal!

NM, you were on a roll today, awesome posts. I knew it would be crazy for you this weekend, you mentioned in the past that the full moon brings out the loonies. The countdown is on for you, you must be so excited. If you win big, can you find a way to open a non cyber HTL with private HTL planes to drag us loungettes in anytime?

Stanzie, I think your cat took a how to course in catching birds, rodents and beasts.  You might was want to get some kind of detector before allowing your cat in the house.  Yikes, no idea about mating but seems so.

Kymn of course you are a princess, love your new name. Funny that both Kim and Kymn have the both first name of princess, I had not known our NM was part of your royal group. Nice to see you, lets have one in honor of all lost by this terrible disease. Sorry to have brought sad memories back and sorry again about your friend.  Ca-link, cheers!

Scuba, what a story about flying on that day, yikes, glad you had landed when it all unfolded.I can imagine the feeling you had waiting for the person from Newark to get in. I remember feeling the need to get my DD as her school at the time was across from the Lockhead Martin missile defense center here in NJ and was evacuated and I could not find her.

My dentist brought up a good point today about making such a grand deal at the anniversary, it is always so somber. He was thinking from the perspective of those that suffered a direct loss and to have them relive it every year and feel the need to be there must be emotionally draining for them. That day deserves respect but knowing how I feel, I cannot begin to imagine what those who lost a loved one feel. I am thinking of just turning off the TV that day and not relive it every year, it hurts. It should be a national holiday to celebrate each life and no longer mourn but rejoice on the fact that we are on nation.Merely a random though by DorK.

Pants, get Sugar Dazzle Thighs and the rest of the girls a round of dwinks. And do not judge us by our names, we are not as loose as our names sound (except Junie, Hunk knows this but does not kiss n tell)...awww, RiP dear friend.

Chrissy - thanks for sharing your photos! Did people ask if you were twins? I have a friend named Gayle and people ask if we are sisters all the time (?) we don't even look alike at all. Maybe we need twin bathers! It's funny how that happens when you go shopping ... we got married in St. Croix with our families there. One day DH told them we wanted some alone time. It's a small island so we kept running into friends and family everywhere we went. I decided to buy a splashy sun dress to wear to the casual reception that the ILs were having for us at home so we went into a shop. I found a lovely dress but couldn't find my size (I think I was a 4 or 6 then so I was swimming in a size 8). As I left the dressing room, I ran into my MIL holding the same dress, in my size, but looking for an 8. We exchanged dresses but then she realized she couldn't buy the dress if I wanted it, which I did. Still have it. Wish it was the 8.

Hi LadieZ....  Too much to catch up on so won't try.  Was at a cycling club party at the house of one of the members.  Watched the moon rising over Lake Washington.  Just spectacular.

Having a second glass of wine now that I am safely home.

So glad Chrissy that you are having the trip of a lifetime.

Cooler tonight than the past few evenings which is welcome.  But think also signals the end of real summer, which was brief and gorgeous.

I may back off on the cycling over the weekend.  But need to do work this week, and think four more days of that.  Happy, happy PAR-TAY!!! - Claire
