Hi girls!  It's Chesty Heaven Shock here!  LOL!!!  Love the game, Goldie!!!

I am in anything but chesty heaven.  My foob is no longer red.  Woo Hoo!  But now it's tight.  Stupid Stupid Rads!!!  I dreaded it more than chemo!  Just didn't want to deal with the long term consequences of it!!!  I called my PS today to give him an update.  He's such a nice guy.  He got on the phone (not his nurse) to ask me how I was doing.  He told me to massage the breast at least twice a day (but not anywhere people could see me - LOL).  He also suggested I be more active.  I have been such a slug lately.  My DH suggested we take a walk to a local bar and watch football and have beers (now that I'm done with antibiotics).  DH just had knee surgery, so that was not a good idea.  So, I walked around my neighborhood for 30 minutes, swinging my arms to stretch the muscles!  I'm sure my neighbors think I'm a freak. Good thing is that most don't recognize me now that I have short brown hair, not long blonde hair!  LOL!!!

Great pics and stories of Chrissyb's trip with Scuba and DorK.  How fun for you guys to connect!

I forgot to mention that I tried the new Skinny Girl Sangria.  Not sure what to make of it.  I like the margarita mix better.  I added some POM to the sangria and it tasted better.  Yippee!  No more antibiotics now!  :)

So, in my new foob massage obsession, I found an spot on the front of my foob where I can feel my implant.  So odd!  I'll have to ask my nice PS about this!

Hmmm, like the POM in general, agree with GAil/AStorm vodka is quite divine, think I will try one here in the lounge with POM and club soda. It's a good thing I can charge all my drinks to that stripper, Candy Gltz Thighs, otherwise I would be SOL and forced to wash dishes oe something to pay my way.

Counting hours down til I see PS re: bad remaining drain. Hopefully will get some relief either way, pull the darn thing and aspirate (likely on both sides of the back cause the other one failed labor day weekend) or clear the clog. Right now, still releasing too much fluid for as is and if it ain't working, infection ain't a good idea.

Chrissy - love the sailing and Outer Banks shots, getting to meet you, however briefly, just makes your updates more enjoyable.

On a final note, am considering somethng more than just tattooing the nipples on. I have a couple of colorful scuba diving related tattoos already on my back and am thinking if a way to cover up my LAT scar, my SNL scar, etc. Perhs a shark under the armpit biting the nipple (at least on one side, old Candy might want something fancy for the other nipple, will leave that to her). Any idea how the insurance money works for that part of it? With no nerves in a lot of these places, should be pretty painless.

Oh well, rambled enough, hi to all, especially if like me you are on lime at 3 am!

    Cheers!

DorK-I'm sure you'll get the picture thing working eventually. The "It Won't Work" Imp must be visiting your computer just now. Can't wait to see them, though! Thanks for sharing.

AStorm-Oh, my, imagine bumping into your MIL with the same dress! Too funny!

Wahine-I'm with you, haven't seen size 8 since school. GRADE school. Doing lots of happy dancing with you, for rending the condo, and in between house work and chores I need to do before taking Sadie to Aunties and to get ready to leave for VEGAS early tomorrow AM! 15 minutes of dancing, 5 minutes of house work, rinse and repeat. . . .

Kittycat-ask you PS if he has a copy of the Reach for Recovery exercises for after breast surgery-very comprehensive. I still do many of the stretches and exercises to help keep my poor radiation damaged pect muscle from contracting so much I can't move my shoulder. Love the stripper name! As to insurance coverage of the tattooing, insurance only covers if it's done in a doc's office by someone on the doc's staff or by the doc him/herself. Then it's considered part of the procedure. Tattoos that are not "nipple" or "aureole" are not considered medical. There are some people, one is a woman on the boards here, that will do the tattooing at no cost for a bc survivor, but that's the 3-D nipples or standard nipple/aureole tattooing. I can picture the shark eating the nipple, though!

Got so much to do today, should have done some of it yesterday. At least I got the change counted and rolled, will have $100 in change when I add in the change in the car and the bottom of my purse. That's my gambling money. Only going to the casinos one day, I think. My cousin has a computer and internet, so I will be able to get on once in a while and keep up with you all but won't be spending much time online. OK, back from work session #3. Got the dishwasher emptied, the bathroom cleaned, the bedroom cleaned, except for the clothes that need to be put away, some of which I will pack tonight.

We need a good DOTD-how about a Stripper Special for today?

    1/4 oz Strega
    1 1/4 oz Bourbon
    3/4 oz Peach Schnapps
    4 oz Bitter Lemon

    Directions
Pour into an ice-filled highball glass, add a spiral of lemon, and serve.

    For tomorrow:  DOTD--the Travelor
    4 oz Beer
    1 oz Vodka
    1 oz Sake
    1 oz Lemon Juice
    1/2 oz Lime
    1 oz Cayenne Pepper

    Directions
Slice the half lime into 4 seperate wedges. Muddle the wedges and pepper with a dash of lemon juice, and transfer to a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Add the vodka and sake, and shake well. Pour the contents, including ice, into a highball glass. Top with ginger beer, to taste, and serve.

For Thursday's   DOTD--  Viva  Las Vegas!
    1 oz (chilled) Tequila
    2 oz Clamato Juice
    1 whole Lemon Juice
    3 drops Tabasco Sauce
    1 oz Orange Soda

    Directions
Pour all ingredients in a Shaker with ice. Add salt and pepper to taste. Shake well and serve on a Margarita Glass with salt on the edge.

Kymn, you are the Princess! Glad everyone had fun with name game. Mine won't stick in my signature, but I see yours DorK, and remember, I said I would post for you.

Ok, I got this in email from a friend and had to share, so helping out with the JOTD Gail:

    OMG!!!
    I did not know this...

When you drink vodka over ice, it can give you kidney failure.
When you drink rum over ice, it can give you liver failure.
When you drink whiskey over ice, it can give you heart problems.
When you drink gin over ice, it can give you brain problems.

Apparently, ice is really bad for you.
    Warn all your friends.

Next we have a celebration in order today!

Wishing you the best day ever and a fabulous year. Happy Happy Birthday, I love you bunches and bunches!

NM- I can hear the excitment in your voice! Hope you have a wonderful, fun, fabulous, and grand trip! Of course safe too, please!

My sister and BIL leave today for the Mayo Clinic - they are extremely scared and worried. Not to give too much TNI or to gross anyone out but NM - question, my sister said he was getting mucus (I'm assuming from the colostomy and not further down) but that it started out clear then white now yellow. she is worried the radiation is dissolving his intestines or what is left??? Any thoughts?

Anyway, annoyed at the woman who lived across the street from me (when I was still married) whose brother is head of the Colon/rectal dept at the Mayo and asked if she would email or call her brother so he could watch out for them or just know there were there ---- anything really. My next door neighbor back then and I used to do stuff for her all the time, walk her dogs, grocery shopped and brought meals to her when she broke her foot, My ex helped her all the time fixing stuff and putting up Christmas lights and we gave her a lovely retirement party... so you might think (yes she knows my sister and BIL) she would do this for them. Nope! She told another friend she just hadn't gotten around to checking her email - I sent her the info and my sister did as well - 3 weeks ago. That is so rude and selfish. I'm so disappointed in her. So anyway they are off. The surgery isn't till the 19th but he will have lots of other tests down starting on Thursday but they wanted to make sure they were up there with no problems.

As for shark tatoo's I'm sure if you already have tatoo's then you already know some good people. I have a friend here who has designed some tatoo's and she told about the first time going into this one place - she said there were a bunch of kind of scary men and it wasn't in the most lovely neighborhood. Anyway, she walks in and shows her design and they start talking, and turns out this man is like the sweetest man and she would never go anywhere else and he did lovely work. Anyway, I'm thinking as it probably won't be covered I'd bed someone would do it for you and help you figure out a price you could agree on. Especially because of the reason for covering some scars.

Oh Heaven's DorK - I must have rubbed off on you as I can't post things either but would love to see the picture. Better run I have gyn apt! Ugh dreading it....

Oh Lori, Such neat happy birthday pictures! Thank you soooooo much; I love you too! SO nice to wake up and see all those nice wishes. NM too, thank you very much! I plan to do as little as possible today. The new tenant wanted to sign papers today and a contractor wanted to come today for estimates, and I said "No, we can wait until Wednesday"! How bout that! MIght have to do little things like pick out tile, etc today though, but nothing much. DH plans to take me to a really really nice place for dinner tonight. Thanks again girls, it means so much to me to have such nice wishes from you!

Oh NM, wow that DOTD has some combo of liquor and beer! OF course though perfect name, as you have a BIG trip tomorrow!!! I hope you have such a great time! But one thing, not sure if Vegas has changed all the machines over, but in most of the casinos we have been to the last couple of yrs (or more), the machines have all been changed over to only accepted paper money or vouchers. Not as much fun anymore since you can't put in coins, even on the 1 cent machines. But much faster to get paid, since payment comes via printed voucher, and they have machines around to put voucher in and get the cash. Also, you don't have to wait as often for someone to help with the machine (like out of money), but sometimes the voucher paper runs out! And funny thing, when you win, most machines "sound" like coins clinking down, or when they voucher is printed, they have a sound! But you may have to turn your coins in at the cashier cage for bills. Just a heads up, so you won't be disappointed in case you don't find machines that accept coins. Hope you win BIG!!!!!!!!

    Hugs,

Kathy (Oh when my DH asks me if I "feel older", I just reach over and feel his arms....after all he IS much older than me, so I am feeling "older")LOL

Stanzie--the mucus that comes from our intestines can be clear, yellow, brownish, or even blue or bright yellow if someone eats a lot of blueberries or carrots!  The color change probably is a response to something he ate, his level of hydrations, some medications (espeically vitamins) he may be taking, or just his body's whim.  Probably not something to worry about, but he can always ask when he gets to Mayo.

I am getting excited!  Housework is just about done, got a phone call from the health coach at 11, then off to get $$, take Sadie to Auntie's, then home to finsh packing, online check in, try to sleep. . .

Yippee, did I hear big birthday/ba-bye bash tonight? I will be dere wif bells on.

    You are most welcome Kathy.

Asking for prayers for our Scuba, she is sitting at our PS office waiting for some relief on the drain pain. I am so grateful to her for cluing me in on my new PS. i just called over to find out what my PS likes and it is candy or wine!  I see him for the last time on Thurs as he is retiring. I think I told you gals in confidence that he is very ill from lung cancer. He is one wonderful man and it will be a great loss to the Philly community that he will no longer be practicing.

Beanie, great post to our Raquel, you always do a fab job in touching hearts, good job again. Hoping all is well for you and yours. Miss you here.

Stanzie, glad you got the 411 on Chrissy. Praying for your BIL, did you say his name was Bill?

NM, so excited for you. I can also hear the happy tone in your "voice". You rock this thread.  How cool that you and scuba have relatives in Maine and her's are so close to you? Coinsidence, again, I think not. So so happy for you. You truly deserve a break. Open your wings and fly when you arrive in vegas!!!

Lori, nice job letting the cat out of the bag (Stanzie, don't let your cat out hehehe or have him go through Stanzie security first)!  Your pics are great too.and damn, I like lots of ice, hmmm what to do, I guess drink it straight from the bottle and fuggetabout de ice? Crap. lol.

    WHO'd I miss? Kymn?

Great pics too Gail. You are a riot, I was laughing at your post but forget which one, will have to skip back to see what made me laugh.

Cheerz girls, time to shower and head out for my owl-a-bow xray (another word my DD used as a child, you know I treausre my Jessicaismas) !

Rounds for all, one of each dotd, might as well start drinking tomorrow's and Thurs's too. Dwink up girls. Titz up if ya got em, otherwise, bottomz up! Feel the love.........

Wahine, am ordering up some Dom Perignon in the lounge, happy birthday! Enjoy!

Just home from PS, last drain now out, leaking like a 1960's era convertible, but feel better already. 5 weeks was plenty. Thanks to all for listening to my whining. Now I am on to waiting for next surgery and planning my new tattoo, the nipple biting shark could be awesome. For now, a glass of bubbly to wahine and a nap.

Oh Scuba (Lisa), Glad the drain is now LONG GONE!!!! WooHoo!! You kicked that Pratt boy to the curb, yay! Thanks for the Dom.....Verry special bubbly....my DH used to get that for us till I convinced him that I couldn't "really" tell that much of a difference...lol. Your nipple biting shark tattoo sounds just awesome! Like the other gals said, ins prolly won't cover that, but you will have it forever, so will be worth the $. I still need to go back to Asheville NC to Earleen to get my tatts touched up...she does regular 3D areolas for free for bc pts, but of course donations are always accepted! She does awesome work, and has a nice room for free wigs, scarves, etc for bc pts. OH I am enjoying this bubbly w/ peach schnapps....now DH is FINALLY fixing me some banana pancakes for breakfast (yes, it IS after noon already!). Ciao!

WooHoo, ME too, Kymn! Hot flashes just won't stop, looking at that pic! And what sweet words you sent...touched my heart. So sorry you lost your bff to bc...sounded like she had quite a sense of humor!

It is always so funny when you have to fill in the date, and it happens to be your b'day. I am filling out customs forms for an ebay purchase going to a top honcho at the US embassy in Seoul Korea...I cracked up laughing when I had signed my name and put 09/13/(and my birth year)! LOL.

    Sharing the bubbly...... *hic*

    Hi LadieZ.....

Dom Perignon???  I'm in.  I actually did have some once and it was delish.  Nothing but the finest for our Kathy though.  Happy, happy, happy birthday.

I don't think I can take any more hot male bodies as might have to disappear with one of the hunks for a bit.  Even anastrazole hasn't tamed me that way.

Finally, some progress on the networking front.  So the right groups, and attending a luncheon on Thursday.  These aren't held in the summer.  Plus, a woman wants to meet with me.....no open position, but I know she knows people.

Attending a data storage and business analytics conference tomorrow.  That should exercise the brain a bit.  Plus more networking.

Scuba.....I had the bad Pratt boy for about 5 weeks too.  Something to do with cycling and keeping things stirred up.  I never seem to learn.  Congrats on ditching the cad.

NM....so glad you are headed on vacay.  Don't worry if you missed a speck of dust or two.  Important that Sadie is OK.

Looks like the Seattle summer is finally waning, so glad I was out cycling on those warm, sunny days.  Back to clouds, but also cooler temps.  Hoping the forest fires get better.

Signing off for now.  Hoping no one noticed the missing champagne bottles. - Claire

Okay, Wahine, have had 2 actual beers while playing hooky with DH and 2 friends over the loss of the last grenade. Have an already scheduled hair color cut appt. Am thinking of shocking pink, might need some of DorK's JD to go thru with it. But it was nice to go to the potty and not jerk around with those lil grenades!

I will be working the design for this tattoo for a while with my guy here in Philly (he actually is awesome) and has covered up some stuff. Not worried about $, more just wanted to have the insurance co. Cut him a check, not just the docs. Will post pics for opinions once that starts. For now have to wait to get the temps out in Nov/Dec. And kick a$$ in PT. Can't scuba dive with no back muscles!

Now, cheers and let the Dom flow freely!!!!!!

Such a nice picture, Stanzie! Thank you for thinking of me, and for the birthday wishes. Thank you also, Claire (but I need to watch all those bottles of Dom disappearing...just kidding!)! You all have been so nice, and it really touches my heart! Just got home from some errands, and also had some nice birthday emails (even from HunkyD!), as well as car!ds in the mail (thank you Lori!). Sorta got a headache from the bubbly....guess I should have stayed in the HTL and not had some in the real world! Trying to think of a way to get rid of it so I can dwink more tonight. Gonna be getting ready soon to go out for an extra-special dinner. Then will join you all later for a big partay and esp for a big send-off for our NM!!!

Thank you again all you lovely loungettes!!!!

DorK - thanks for the offer... I think I'd like his house to be moved out of the county. I understand that there are hexes but I don't want him to be harmed, just removed from my life. I once had a bad boyfriend that wouldn't leave... there was a little ceremony involving a bonfire but then our house burned down... maybe I overdid it! So obviously I'm looking for a more positive ending... like he could fall in love with someone who lives far, far away.

Heather - my saline foobs were very crunchy and sloshy. The new silicone ones are less crunchy but I can still feel the implants. PD says I have very thin skin.

Woohoo, NM! Thanks for all the drinks!

Happy birthday, Kathy! I want some of that cake that Kymn's friends brought...

Mmm, Dom Perignon... I found a DP box when I was cleaning out the loft in my new office. Opened it and found the champagne flutes from our wedding. Forgot I stored them there!

I'll have to catch up later as I am running to pick up DD2 now... and find some more palatable "clear liquids"...

Back in the lounge with a flaming red hair do. Stanzie, that stained glass is beautiful. If the Dom is catching up, perhaps it is time to switch up. Choices anyone? Cheers...
