ehhh, Lisa I think Junie's presence here in NJ hurt the Phils, they are still #1 though. Glad you enjoyed it. Take it easy. I am nervous about work. I am feeling pretty (my pretty which is not beautiful lol). Glad I got my hairs and nails done and makeup on my face. Feels good to dress but can't wait to get this day over. Have to tell my boss I am having surgery one month from today, she will not be happy and I am not happy as I will not get money making work, just base salary. oh well, life is good when I look at the grand picture, that is all I got.

Kathy, I will miss you today and can't wait to hear about your adventures. Hope the boys can come and work for you. If that fails, we always have our Hunk and Jocks until NM returns our Pants. I sure miss him too lol.

Love you all, thinking of you Kymn. Peace, love and happy wishes to all, God Bless.

Hope NM ks winning so much money that she is busy counting it all! Sure you look like a million bucks, and work is just going to have to deal with it, not like we have options! I will be in your back pocket providing moral support. (if not, will pour the vodka when needed!)

WooHoo starting early with vodka...I'll join you girlz. Brought my aquafina bottle just in case! DorK, Hoping today goes well for you and you do not overdo. Lisa, good luck with your PT. I need to do more PT but hate going (for my bad back, and shoulders/neck), but it was never mentioned after my mast. I know I have lost a lot of range-of-motion though. Yay for you both, for doing that!!

Yesterday it didn't rain after all, but is raining now, and looks like rain till Friday, maybe. We have their 4 tall ladders here, so know they won't stay away tooooo long. Yesterday realized somehow we are missing our 10' a-frame ladder, which I really could use for the ceiling of the porch. Can't really misplace something like that, so maybe it was taken??? Hadn't used it for awhile, so have no clue. I do not feel secure on the ext ladders, so will have to have DH hold it when I use one of them.

DorK, what is the ratio you use for % of take-home income going to mortgage payment? Got all the info from prospective renter, but want to make sure he can afford the rent! Mucho gracias.

After dwinking wodka wid ya goils, might hang out at the percotini fountain....lotta aches and pains this am.....THEN maybe the mimosa fountain around lunchtime. LOL. Oh, loved your funny too, Claire. I really loved Bob Hope a lot.

I am moving like I'm 102! My cousin came this weekend - such a sweet hostess I am we went out and for two days chopped and hauled off this huge 15" tree limb that fell in the far back of the yard. Killed the wheelbarrow, broke a stone step, scratched the others but amazingly no one got stung by bees.

Then he replaced the insides of my toilets - might not sound like a big deal but it is huge as I thought I was going to have to replace the entire toilets. Come to find out the only two new ones - 5 years ago - well they were the ones set wrong so water was constantly running in the tanks. Hired two plumbers over the years to try and figure why my water bills are so high and neither figured that out! Sigh, well hopefully things will be better now.

Made an amazingly fabulous chocolate cake which we devoured. Whoops there went the so called diet!

Gail - absolutly hilarious story about the pie!

Claire - so glad you had a good talk with your former partner and that things are looking up. BTW, how is your main squeeze doing?

DorK - that is awful - you poor thing! I imagine hand surgery is pretty scary and painful. When will you have this done, next month?

Kathy- glad you got your condo rented.

Scuba- glad you are feeling better from the kidney stones - cannot imagine

NM- will be glad to know how much her presence is missed! Not to mention, Beanie,HD, Lori, heather and well we know Chrissy is busy but still popping in... gosh I hope it works for me to meet her!

So do not begin to know what to think about my BIL - so he had the huge awful surgery yesterday - about 6 hours. So I get this text saying the doc came in to say he was finished and they were closing. Well - they didn't find the tumor. He said it was scar tissue. OK.... that is good but so did he have this huge horrendous surgery which will take 2 weeks in the hospital and months to recover from for no reason? What about all the chemo and rads - was there ever a tumor? What about him thinking he was on death's door and about giving up..... Wow, I know it is great no cancer found but???

Back hurting like a bear this a.m., returning to work FT at 6 weeks might be a bit aggressive, think I might need the reinforced aquafina shot after all! Maybe at lunch. Sad part is, I like what I do and have a great gig (I walk 6 blocks to work and have a great boss). Being back is a good distraction as well. The PT is to rebuild the LAT muscles thy took, can't be scuba_duchess if I can't scuba dive now can I?

Sorry to be selfish, thoughts and prayers to everyone having a tough day.

Gotta get going....gotta get going...hmmmmm maybe need some more swigs on the aquafina (see what you started, DorK?)....LOL. Prayers and free dwinks for all who need it today.

Sorry about all the not fun stuff going on.  Scuba, it's a good thing that you need to rebuild those muscles.  Because this way, you WILL.  Stanzie.....learned to replace toilet innards a number of years ago when living with my ex.  Cash was short, and I was thrilled to fix each toilet for less than $10.  Argument for standard fixtures BTW.  Who wants to have to hunt for those items??

Wahine....my building uses rent should be no more than 30%, and they require documentation, either a pay stub or previous year's 1040 front page.

I haven't seen much of Main Squeeze recently as he is hunkered in with his daughters.  The upshot is yes, he does have cancer, and is facing six months of neoadjuvant chemo to shrink the tumor on his pancreas.  Extremely early, so they think a good prognosis.  He is being treated by the best, and survival stats are much higher there than elsewhere.  So the relationship is changing, but relieved that he will most likely make it.  Much as I miss our time together, other things are more important at this point.

I have learned that there is a time you need to let go.  I have waited too long twice before in my life.  Also, I am moving to a different place in my life, so really am devoting my energy there.

But has been quite the two months, and ten days ago only knew the "malignant cells" part, and not the prognosis.  One reason the weekend of 9/11 was so difficult for me.

Gail....it's still early.  Sorry about the lack of sleep, but can you have some fab coffee???  I am enjoying my tea.  Need to work on the website in case I end up doing work with my former business partner.  It needs updating, and I need a good picture of myself.  The one posted here didn't look right when I put it in the program.  Need to look my fab self.

Good news is that I still have clafoutis for breakfast.  Now there is a way to start the morning! - Claire

Just got a little free time, so was going to stop by for drink, not sure if I will get through the all the pages tho, and certainly won't be commenting on much as I usually do, so please don't anyone take it personally. I love you all! Thanks for the drink DorK, the one you left on the counter for me.

Kymn, your comments are the first I read, mentioning that your DH has left. My sweet beautiful friend, there is not much more that I can add to what everyone else has said. He is one person, and I'm certain you have many many many others in your life that love and care about you unconditionally. Besides, if that is the type of person he is, then I doubt you would want to be with someone like that! You take care of yourself, get through your treatments and move on. Be strong and be thankful for you family, children and friends. We/they will all be there to help you through this. BIG HUGS TO YOU PRINCESS.

Lisa, so glad you were able to kick those stones to the curb! Love your new nick name given by DorK....Scuby Doo

Gail, great advice on what to be telling the boys in school when the girls are learning about periods. For any of you gals out there with young boys....TAKE NOTE!

DorK, do hope your dear sweet baby girl is doing well, and I was touched about your story with your neighbor (when she came to ask you to move you car)

I still have 2 more pages to read, but going to send this along. This is the first time I have even turned the computer on, but I do think of you gals. Just been too busy with my family and friends. Can I still get one of those tequila sunrises Katrinka? For those that don't care for tequila, you can use rum....they call that a rum rise.

    TitZ and BottumZ up!

Yeah, lots for you to ketchup on, but take your time reading and no worries about not responding to all of us. Just jump in on the current page! YES, of course there are still Tequila Sunrises for you, ma dear. Never heard of the "rum rise", but love the name...can I change it to "Rump Rise", like "Bottoms Up"???? Take care and enjoy your vacay!!!

    Rump Rise!!!!

    Katrinka

P.S. Tenant did not check out...he was previously EVICTED...yikes! And thanks to Dork for giving me the info I asked for...you're a sweetie. Our condo shows beautifully, and anyone who sees it wants it,but sheesh, hoping for someone with a clean record!!!!

    Stanzie,

My PT program is to help strengthen the back area where theynremoved the muscles, not sure if it is really a rebuild or build up of surrounding muscles. I just know that I need to be able to carry a scuba tank on my back and get back into the boat with it. (pretty easy getting in, gravity is your friend!). I do stretching, isometrics and am just starting some rubber band based resistance work now that the drains are outt (along with those stupid kidney stones). Plan to start swimming as soon as I am allowed, will be curious to see loss in speed, I had to do timed swims last year for my dive master training.

    Kymn

. Good thoughts and hugs continue.

I will swap to Scuby doo once I post the cat litter bucket pics, once I figure out how yo upload from iPad. Oh well, am working and heading to a 2:30. Just stopped in the lounge for a quick shot and some extra energy to make it through the day!
    Cheers!

PaU hAnA time....anyone joining me in a rooster appendage? (cocktail)... here is a jokie...

A woman came home, screeching her car into the driveway, and ran into the house. She slammed the door and shouted at the top of her lungs, 'Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery!'
The husband said, 'Oh my God! What should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?' 'Doesn't matter,' she said. 'Just get the hell out.'

    Hi Loungettes,

Thought I'd pop in and have a glass of shiraz while waiting for my take-out to to take home for dinner  (this is, after all, a full service lounge, right??!!).  Love the jokes, the recipes, and the YouTube music (Dork...was that "Color My World" on one of your videos?  LOVE Chicago!!)  And my prayers go out to Kymm and the other Loungettes who are going through trials and tribulations.

DWTS results show is tonight...did you vote last night?  I wrote down all of the voting phone numbers and faithfully made my allotted calls.

DS #2 is MIA.  He lives with me, and it's not unusual for him to stay with a friend over the weekend and eventually show up (usually on Sunday).  He was home Friday morning, but haven't seen hide nor hair since.  He's not answering his phone (and if he left his charger at home, that would be why cause his battery would be dead), but his girlfriend isn't returning my messages either (assuming the number he gave me is actually HER number).  I sent a text to the only other friend whose number I have.  I'm afraid he may be in jail or worse.  I swear, between kid stress, ex-husbands stress, and work stress, it's no wonder I got cancer.  Arrggghhhhh.....

Hi from my favorite real world lounge. Wahine, love the joke, especially with how some unmentionable guys have behaved lately in our world.

Sheryl, sorry this includes DS, hopes it works put. Can barely manage DH, god was too smart to give us DS or DD! Then again, cemistry helped!

DorK hope all is okay, thinking of you. Kymn, prayers, thoughts and all about you right now.

Going home to leftovers and my upside down cat litter bucket (and my 102 degree hot tub). My Phillies have already locked things up so for now it is quiet season.

Cheers, hope not to post in the early am, but between God and these stupid foobs, not in my
control and you ladies are my sanity (what I have left)! PT at 8:30 am, only want the massage part, not the stretches. Not sure if I should plead kidney stones, hangover or both? Need To decide.

    Love and bottoms up all!

DorK, Hey, can they come here and help me clean out stuff too??? Pwetty, pwetty pwease. Remember you had to work today, so don't overwork tonight, as you need to stay WELL!

ScubaDoo, thats why I liked that joke too....sorta appropriate right now!

Well....go figure...the first gal that saw our condo and loved it, but backed out as her older DD was going to move back home.... well, she just called, almost begging for us to rent her the condo...while we were talking, another couple that wanted to see it, was ringing in, but I ignored them. We liked this first gal and her DD, so fingers crossed (and legs, and arms, and feet, and eyes crossed) that her application will be good. DH is running errands, so will be happy to hear that she wants it.

Whew....I need a double, or a triple, or heck why not dwink 10 in a row! Cheers Dears!!!

Thanks, Lisa & Kathy!  Finally got a response from DS's friend who said DS dropped his phone in water. Yeah, right.  And he texted me DS's gf's number, wihich was one digit off the number DS gave me. After a text to the new number for the gf, DS's gf texted me and said DS was fine and at her house.  Well, DS going to get one big Loungette a$* chewing when he gets home.  Isn't it strange how the kid who never gave you problems when they were little turns out to be the one to give you the most gray hair (and vice versa)?

DorK, DH's are a pain in the royal rearend.

DWTS update:  "Metta" is going home.  (Dennis Rodman-wannabe's name was Ron last night.  Who changes their name over night?)

Sheryl, Glad your DS is OK! Well, that is until he gets home to face you...LOL. I know you must be immensely relieved. BUT puleez don't give away tv show results...a lot of us record them to watch later, me included. Have not seen the results from DWTS yet. Lori and I watch Survivor also, and lots of other shows, so puleez (pwetty puleez) bear with those of us who watch them much later. Mahalo!

ScubyDoo, Whew, at least you made it thru the day....hard to jump back into working FT....hope you get really, really good sleep tonight!

I was at least trying to keep moving while Biggest Loser was on....gotta somehow work off the likker calories. I know what I dwink at the HTL is calorie-free, but unfortunately elsewhere its calorie laden. Hoping not to be up at 3 am and hoping you won't be either, ScubyDoo....but like you said, it is nice to know we can connect with someone almost any time, day/night.

Anyone know when NM is returning? I think Lori is away till 25th or 27th? Beans, puleez return to us, we miss you sooooo much! ScubyDoo, if you need Chrissy's address, I have it. I saw your post on the journey thread. DorK, hope you are doing okay! Kymnie, we are still thinking of you and missing you here! Gail, I was going to ask you something, and now can't remember what it was. Maybe it will come to me later...

Kathy - bwahaha! Very appropriate these days! Is there a full moon or something?

Sheryllynn - that sucks. I just sent my 18 YO DD off to college and tho I miss her I have to say there is a lot less stress in my life.

Caught my big cat on the dining table this morning (he probably thought I left) and hissed at him to get him off. He is one of those cats that talks back when you talk to him. A few minutes later we were on our way out the door and when I said goodbye to him he pulled his ears back and yowled at me! DD and I burst out laughing cuz he is always vocal but never angry.

Just had some spaghetti aglio e olio and an heirloom tomato salad... also finished off some cheez from the dinner party with a lovely glass of chardonnay. There is a whole apple pie -- the one I baked for the neighbor who hasn't moved in yet -- so I'm avoiding the kitchen.

Ok, book club drama has escalated... don't know if I mentioned but there was some tension and then I got an email from one of the ladies where she copied her copied email that the group leader sent her when she dismissed her from the group (!) for being hostile and disdainful of the opinions of others (?) she also commented that a side conversation the dismissed member had with me was inappropriate as it pertained to a book we were reading with another group (it is a 700 pager and she mentioned that she wasn't going to finish it in time and I suggested she download the audiobook from the library and listen to part of it while driving ... a segue to discussing audiobooks which then evolved into a discussion of e-books). I thought this was all perfectily relevant but the leader was mortally offended. Now I'm affraid to open my email cuz maybe she sent me packing too even tho I did sense her discomfort and tried to move the conversation to more neutral territory :(  I thought book clubs were supposed to be fun! There is entirely too much meaness in the world. If you guys ever decide I am too annoying, please don't tell me. Just give me more likker and I'll be loads more fun!

LOL Gail....soooooo funny (the pics that is)! That really sucks about not having fun at the book club. Yeah, would make anyone afraid to give their opinion, which is what its supposed to be for, right? Funny about you hissing at your cat! I'm still waiting for the application from the gal that called me about 4 hrs ago, so have been on the computer more than catching up on the tv shows.

Did anyone watch the Playboy Club last night? Very interesting 1st episode! I think I need some likker so I can mellow out like those cats......

    Hi Gail,

Just confounded the police who were looking for money.  They asked for the "lady of the house" and I answered "this is she".  The guy didn't know what to make of my answer and excused himself!!!  YAY, off that hook.

Cats love to lurk on dining tables.  I can understand why your guy got huffy. He had the place steaked (sic!) out.

Book club.....who has time for this nonsense???  I can read my own books.  Bring in your Kindle next time.

Glad I don't have television.  Catch up on the internet.  Works for me.

My friend with the cellar full of mud ran out of steam long before she ran out of mud.  Wish I could help her as I excell at stuff such as mud-lugging.

Loved my dinner of bacon blue cheeseburger, lentil pilaf, and tomato/basil/green salad.  Plus wine of course.  Have a drop or 2 left.

Progress on the networking front today.  BottomZ up. - Claire

Morning ladies, made it all the way until 5:30 a.m. today! Small victory since I have PT at 8:30 and it is 10 minutes of walking to get there. Ohwell, a jolt of java on the way can not hurt, especially if jock sneaks me a shot of Bailey's to put in it, they will think I worked so hard this week!

Will have to check out the Playboy Club, not much of a TV watcher, but 1st episode is availiable on line, sure I can get it on demand if it is worth it (DH may think so!)

Good news is it is already Wednesday, bad news is that it is only Wednesday ! Working FT again is good to occupy my brain but whew, the body pays the price. Hoping it gets better, but have not started any fills on TE's yet either, may need to cut back a bit.

Dumb question, any flying restrictions you all know of after lengthy surgery like BMx with LAT?
I have to go to Toronto soon (relatively short hop from Philly) but don't want to rush it, will ask at PS's office today at PT. Thanks!

Hi and hugs to all both posting and not posting this morning, hope it is a good one!
