First you take a city view and add a deck

Then you put in a hot tub and grab an empty bucket of kitty litter

Then you keep the foobs dry and enjoy the view.

Howdy, ladies!  So glad the DWTS results show is on the big screen here at the HTL  Think I'll have another glass of shiraz and wait this out Sealed  Seriously, I really admire those of you who can remember the posts of everyone here and can respond with succinct prose.  My uterus and ovaries were removed in March, and I think the memory part of my brain was removed as well.  Here's some thoughts on a couple of the posts that easliy come to mind:

Tamoxifen:  Both my mom and I took this.  Mom swears her vaginal atrophy was caused by tamoxifen.  I think the many other chemo drugs she had were the culprit because I had no "bad" side effects from tamoxifen.  I did ensure that my vagina had sufficient exercise so that the "use it or lose it" rule would NOT apply.  My periods eventually stopped (which is the goal of the drug, right??).  When my MO switched me from tamoxifen to aromasin (cause I had achieved the "post-menopausal stage), my estradiol and FSH levels climbed back up to pre-menopausal levels within a month or two of the switch.  I had two very heavy, and very long, periods following the switch.  A transvaginal US suggested adenomyosis was causing these problems.  I don't know if the tamoxifen caused the adeno, and I really don't care.  The drug made my estradiol and FSH levels go down, and the positive benefits of this are more important (to me) than any negative effects it may have caused.

TE fills:  This, too, shall passSmile  I don't know how many cc's my PS gave me during each fill.  I do know that my previously-radiated side ALWAYS groaned and complained after each fill, and it got progessively more uncomfortable.  My unradiated side never complained, but I did have breast implants for about ten years prior to my BMX, so that may have "helped" the expansion process.  If the discomfort lasted for more than a few days, my weekly fills would become become "other-other-week" fills.  You don't have to follow a "weekly fill" routine.  Do it at your OWN pace.

Lung cancer: My DS (sister, as opposed to son) passed from this.  She was diagnosed in Dec 2009...Stage IV.  Mets to the brain, bones, mediastinum, and adrenal glands.  Her first symptoms (which didn't become obvious make sense until after her diagnosis) were back pains (from the spine mets) and migraine headaches (from the brain mets).  She passed four months later.  I'm so sorry that your DD passed from this horrible disease, but it is indeed a blessing that he was able to work and function up until the near-end.

    Jokes and pics:  LOVE THEM!!!!

Went back an edited again - got rid of the dups.  Can you believe I make a living in computers?  Just not PC's.  And I was only in the lounge for 2 hours (or was it 3???)

    Cheers to a good night.

Sheryl - so sorry about your DS.

DorK - and sad about your PS. There was a family in my neighborhood... daughter went to school with mine; they had a beautiful home and were lovely people. The father was a very popular oncologist and a wonderful father. Unfortunately the daughter had cancer when she was 7 YO and had to go thru chemo. Shortly after she was cancer-free, her father at the age of 36, had a heart attack and passed. He didn't even know he had a heart condition. He loved his work and his family and enjoyed them both up until his last moments. Life/death seems so random sometimes.

Duchess - love the cuzzi! What;s the kitty litter for?

Gail, You might have missed ScubyDoo's post about sitting on the kitty litter bucket so she could be in the hot tubs w/out getting her boobs wet!   ScubyDoo, NICE view! Thanks for the pics...and is that you in the hot tub? So nice to see what you look like, and now when you say you are on your deck or in the hot tub, we will feel like we are there too! We have a huge fiberglass one outside, that we do not use, so hope to get a little bit for it and mainly have someone haul it off. The inside looks brand new, but our roofers ruined the cover, so the cover leaks. I had made a platform for it, and we had the special outlet put there before we moved in, and all was for naught. We only seemed to use it when it was INSIDE at our prior home, in the sunroom. You have such a nice view there, and it really looks inviting!!!!! *kersplash*....last one in the hot tub is a.......

Well finally got thru working at 10:30 and now to catch up w/ DWTS. Need a nightcap.....any ideas?

Took DD to urgent care this evening (so got a late start on the cooking) as she had a stye in her eye and was really hurting her....she didn't want to miss school to go to the doctor tomorrow plus it was getting worse...think its also starting in other eye...they gave her antibiotic eye creme.....

Probably won't get a chance to check in tomorrow.....so won't be back till Saturday night.....

Have a great rest of the week...Hugs.....and I guess its time to get into bed as morning comes early....

Morning loungettes! Stopping by on the way to PT. Since it is at the practice where DorK's surgeon worked, kind of dreading it, such sadness. But, i need the LAT muscles work to be ready to scuba dive, so motivation will carry.

Yes, Wahine, our hot tub herein Philly is basically a giant Kozie. Because it is on the 4th floor of a building from the 1830's, just getting the deck built was an issue. So weight wise, this type of tub is much easier to get approved. I am generally the only user so the size is fine. (we have a bigger hard shell 440 gallon tub at our place at the beach, the kookie tub (Soft Tub) is so easy to maintain. I will post another pic (once I get some advice) of our view of Christ Church. We live in the Olde City section, Betsy Ross's house is around the corner. Anyway, I have found 15 to 30 minutes at night after PT stretching is helping with sleep. Another good night, yippee!

DorK, hope the fill pain has eased. I will say some prayers for Dr Moore and family and all the folks at Jefff Plastic.

Sheryl - so sad how hard this has hit your family. Too many of us have lost too much.

Karen, after hearing my boss's to do list, a gentile appreciates how much work Rosh Hahamnah is, but I love the matzoh ball soup I know she will bring to the office. Enjoy the time with your family.

Kymn, hope you rehanging in there. I am leaving the hot tub running and the cabana bar open any time you need a mental break. Hang in there.

Have a lovely day all! Think I will have a mimosa or two before PT (Pants, please get on it, and I do want some Grand Marnier as a floater)! Cheers, Scuby.

ScubyDoo, I LOVE your Kozie Hot Tub...and being easier to maintain is a BIG plus. I wondered how you change out the water since it is on a high deck. We had the same typeon the deck when we stayed at a wonderful B&B in San Luis Obispo (flt was day after 9/11 originally, so had to delay it). Looks like a purrfect size to me! Ours is too big, and too hard to maintain, plus being on a platform in the yard, seems like it attracts the tree frogs, bugs, and spiders...eeccckkk! It sure will be hard for you to see your PT today....everyone missing DorK's fantastic dr. Can I join you in a mimosa???  I got up really early as my parents arrive this morning!! YAY! They left HI airport at 4pm yesterday, but my mom always looks so fresh ane pretty after flying all night. Can't wait to see them!

Karen, You always do so much and do all that good cooking! I told my DD just yesterday how you always observe shabbat (sp?) every weekend and are so faithful to your religion. She was impressed! And now all you are doing for Rosh Hashannah.....maybe you can teach the Wenches how to prepare all that food, and we can fit up a special table then sample it here. I have not even had matzoh soup, but Lisa said its yummy, so now I am anxious to try it someday. Hope your DD's eyes heal quickly. NIce to hear from you!

My mom just called from ATL airport...I think she forgot it was just 7 am here (8am there), but of course I had to get up early. She said they had a nice overnight flight. I am so glad we are so close to the airport and can't wait to see them in a little bit!

DorK, Hope you are feeling better today. Just so very sad.

    Happy Humpity Hump Day, Loungettes!!!

    Hugsssssss,

Good morning, Loungettes! I was feeling lousy yesterday, so I did very little but sleep and read a novel. Feeling normal again today, good thing since I have things to do and places to go today! Not sure what upset my system yesterday, but glad it's gone today. I think I'm still re-adjusting back to Eastern Time, not waking up a 5 am. Of course, the sun isn't coming up until almost 7 am and that MAY have something to do with that. . .

AStorm-it was nice to have a slower than average weekend. A nice break is a good thing from time to time. And what is with universities of the M states and blue? The UM (University of Maine) colors are baby blue and white! Love the decision tree, too!

Goldie-bubbly and peach schnapps? Sounds very, very yummy! And you are right about the protection from abuse order-that can be taken out against anyone her in Maine, if there is reason. Marriage is not a requirement.

Scuba-I can just picture you and DorK meeting up at a coffee shop, and whipping her top off! I hear you about the control, thing, too. I just kept interviewing doctors until I found the ones that treated me the way I wanted to be treated, and whose office staff also treated me with respect and kindness. There is no one way to get through this, you do what you need to for yourself.

Wahine-Sounds like we needs to get us a bigger hot tub in da Lounge! Hooray for renting the Condo!

DorK-I knew someone here knew "people" and I understand your wanting to hold back just a bit. Things like that are easier here in Maine during hunting season. There are always a few "hunting accidents" that have nothing to do with hunting or accidents except for the presence of a rifle. I know-lets all chip in and send Kymn's DH (D stands for "Deer") on a hunting trip up in the Maine North Woods. With guides who are from the pool of "people" you know. . . Hope your finger gets better quick and the exchange is easy. Sorry this last fill was owie, glad you've got chemicals to make the world better with!

Kymn-DorK and Goldie have some good ideas. I would add to that to talk to a battered women's shelter/organization in your area, too. They can help you quite a bit. Also, it is perfectly legal to record any conversation you have with the scumbag, on the phone or in person, all you have to do is say (while you are recording, for proof) "I am recording this conversation." Get an answering machine for the phone that uses a tape so you can save all his calls and messages. It's harder to erase a tape accidentally than it is to erase a digital recording accidentally. And do keep popping in once in a while so we know you are ok. A bunch of us have left phone numbers with Wahine/Kathy so she can check up on us if we disappear, maybe you could give her or a couple of us your contact info? And Wahine is right-it's easy to change the locks on your doors, I've done it and all you need is a screwdriver!. Takes a little more to change a deadbolt but not much. And you can get lock sets for less than $20 at the big home improvement places. Please stop trying to define yourself through him. He isn't worth it. You are a wonderful and complete person by yourself. As to how you went from the love of his life to his enemy-it's always been about him. As long as you were healthy you were attending to him and enhancing HIS self image. Now that you need some care he sees that as a betrayal. After all, how could YOU go and do something that demanded something of HIM? His world revolves around him, and if you aren't reflecting a positive image back to him he doesn't like it. He never loved YOU, he loved your attention to HIM.

Claire-congrats on finishing the new website! Hooray for good pictures!

LOVE the Shady Lady Resort Pics! Are you taking reservations???

Wahine-YIKES! Glad you didn't get caught up in the chase mess!

I heard or read somewhere once that a "Gentlemen's Agreement" only works if BOTH sides are Gentlemen. . .

DorK-I'm so sorry about your PS's death. It seems so fast-weren't you just having your last appointment with him? So not fair.

    AStorm-LOVE the Letter!

Scuba-your hot tub looks just like the one I had years ago! Love the kitty litter bucket trick! And the view is really WOW, too! So is the cityscape from your deck!

Sherllynn-some of us cheat-I split my compuer screen, BCO on the left, Word on the right, and go back and forth. Otherwise I could never remember enough to make coherence postings!

Karen-long time no see! Have a happy Rosh Hashannah! Styes are not fun, hope DD's clears up quickly.

DorK and Lisa, toasting with the both of you for the loss of such a wonderful person and the fact that each of us is breathing and alive! Again I am sorry!

Thank you Claire, it is fun!

Cute joke Gail, I wonder if something like that has happened in real life. Surely it has, at least similarily?

ScubyDu, so cute....your hot tub and kitty litter bucket. But your patio is darling! Thanks for sharing. Congrats on being able to sleep at night (that's a BIGGIE)

Sheryl, I too am sorry for the loss of your sister.....hugs!

Karen, hope you and your daughter are feeling better.

Kathy, glad to hear mom and dad made it safely! Please get that picture of the two of you painting together and tell them all of their other daughters said ALOHA!

NM, glad you are out of your funk. The bubbly and peach schnapps is Kathy's drink, I was just joining her! Michigan has 2 big (HUGE) rivalry's....Univ.of Michigan, which is blue and Michigan State, which is green. Too funny about Dork's people going hunting!!!  The Shady Lady is....well ummmm.....you know....a bordello. Are you looking for a job???? LOL, j/k!

Kymn, hoping today finds you feeling a tad better. Not sure if it has been mentioned, but emails are good too. So send him some emails, of course trying to get him to admit to the awful things he has done.

Of to the foot doctor for DH, RA is not being too kind to his tootsies. Then off to Laughlin tomorrow morning. So as you all know, I doubt I will be checking in! .......well maybe while traveling I can.

Think I'll have me a Mojito this morning. Had a few at my brothers, so yummy.....with huge fresh raspberries and mint...................YUM!!!

WOW NM, you really addressed all of us so well, as usual, and with the purrfect pics/cartoons! Glad you are feeling okay today! SO funny about the "gentlemen's agreement" only working if BOTH are gentlemen...that had me LMAO! And I love all the wise (and true) words you said to Kymn. And yes Kymn, I hope you will share your contact info with me or someone else here, if you haven't already. We need to make sure you are ok if you end up not showing up here for awhile.

Lori, How sweet to tell my mom her "other daughters" here all say Aloha! They were very tired when they got here, and of course our airport is building a new baggage claim, so they had to walk like a hundred miles to get there thru all the construction detours! I started pulling off their luggage from the carousel before they got there, and got 3 off, like my mom said they were bringing. HEAVY bags, too! THEN I saw another, and another...so got FIVE bags scooted over to the side, gradually. Glad I glanced back at the carousel as there was a big BOX with their name on it that I had to run to get (boy that was heavy too!). So they actually checked 6 (benefit of flying 1st class). They also had 2 carryons with them. Took her wagon to pick them up, as our SUV would not have fit all of that and 4 of us! But when I had my hand on my dad's back, I could feel congestion, or wheezing. I have never "felt" that before, so guess it might be pretty bad for me to feel it? NM, any ideas here? And he was very tired...neither slept on the long flight, so since we always get groceries for them and already got the internet/tv/phone back on, hoping they can just relax, sleep, or at least rest today. It is so SO NICE having them back here!

OK,with  all this team spirit going on here at the HTL right now, guess I need to remind everyone that the BEST team colors are red and white....LOL.... ROLL TIDE!!!

    (says "We Bleed Crimson"

OK Sugar Lusty Heat, can  Raquelle Leather Rock  join you in having a mojito (or several)...looks yummy!

Wow, stop for a coffee (yes just a coffee) on my way back from PT and everyone has been busy. Office was somber as expected, but probably not as bad as it will be since Wednesday's are surgery days, so it is probably not as obvious. NM, opening 2 windows makes a shedload of sense. Will have to remember that trick.

Big day ay PT, I graduated to the blue and green bands for my resistance stuff, wondering if they ever get to black bands like in karate?

Kathy enjoy your parents visit, hope your dad is just wiped out from the long flight.

On to what hopefully will be a great afternoon. We have a surprise birthday dinner to go to tonight, hoping to make it til the cake is served, but will take what I can get. Cheers!

    Hello all,

NM, had to blow past your pics until I get home. I worry that management will see me on BCO and me don't tink they would be happy considering I am only working four hours a day. But THIS is my break time lol.

Kathy, can you have the tenders move your hot tub to NJ, it would look great in my yard lol. I owe you some responses but have been very busy. I am feeling a world better today, the pain from the fill has really eased up, thanks for asking. Remind me again to send you the communication from the BCO moderators pertaining to the issue I had. No one reported me, it was an error on their end. I hope you have a wonderful time with your Mommy, tell her I said hello (after all I am her favorite faux daughter lol).

Scubee's pics are awesome but the photo of her does not do her justice. She looks so plain in the water but is very pretty in real life. I have the same issues with water photos of myself, they never turn out good. I am going to get in your hot tub soon (well when I am invited lol). It is so nice to have a local breast friend. Reminds me to follow up on one of my stage iv friends. Hope your PT went well. I tried to find a nice card at the company store but did not find anything appropriate to send to the staff.

Karen, that is a lot of work for you. I hope you enjoy your holiday and do not stress too much over all you have to do. It would be awesome if the tenders could help you. Hoping you feel better.

Kymn, thinking of you. I have to move it, only have a half hour left of work. Monday will be a rude awakening with starting back full time but at least it is only until 9/19 when I go out again for surgery. Hmmm, wonder if I would qualify for welfare lol.

Love you chick-ettes, drink up, I will be joining you for a lunch time drink then pop my sorry butt into the hammock for a nappy. CheerZ!

DorK, Isn't your surgery either 10/19 or 11/19....but not 9/19, or else you missed it! LOL, J/K, of course. Glad your pain has lessened, and that you're not having to work full-time this week. Would love to send the hot tub your way, but unless the Tattie Tenders volunteer, it would be one heck of a shipping cost!!!

Ok been out painting and *glistening* (remember, we don't sweat!), and finished up 2 windows I had been working on. Resting a bit then on to the condo to do a few things. I told my parents I would not call them today, so they can rest as needed. Of course my mom was already unpacking the suitcases b4 we left! Something was leaking out of the large box, and I worried it was shoyu (the Aloha kind is da best), and my mom worried it was their liquor...you can see where our priorities are!

Ciao for Niao! Gotta fit lots of stuff in the rest of the workload today. I know you all are working a lot too, so maybe we can have a relaxing Pau Hana in Lisa's hot tub tonight! If it gets too full, I will sit on one of those nice chairs and enjoy the view of the city.....while you all end up like prunes! J/K!

Kitty, so nice to see your pretty face in the lounge, peak in more often.

Scuba, have a nice surprise party, you forgot to tell me where, I love parties and would be heading that way if I knew where to go hehehe.

NM, wonderful posts as usual. You are on fire! Sorry you had a bad day, hope today has been better.

Stanzie, thinking of you, read what happened to you. I can not even imagine!  I am praying for your serenity. I hope they catch the bad "guys". Or should I say bad women? Shame on those biotches.

Kymn, thinking of you always. one foot in front of the other and remember as I always say, This too Shall Pass. Love ya and glad you are keeping in touch.

Sorry can't write more, must leave the house. I overslept my nap today and DH is expecting me for dinner. Ahhh, I do miss him cooking, he rocks in the kitchen!  Seems I have no time these days, next week is full time, full speed at work for DorK.Still not enough days to make any decent money.

Wahine - sounds so nice gazing at the lake at happy hour with your parents...I got some sun today so always is just so welcomed with a nice glass of merlot with my DH.

I've been trying to find the right name...Goldie, says "God-poke dimples" and seems so perfect for me. I'm working on "Marshmellow Racey Lacy God-Poke Sugar Dimple Thighs"

But you can call me Racey Lacy for short (unless that's taken....). Okay, back to my vodka!

Having trouble keeping up with all the goings-on!!  Probably because I am trying to land something.  No, on the HR interview I had last week, but knew was a stretch.  The HR person said she would look out for other possible positions.

Have two things lined up for tomorrow, so will be interesting.  And starting to need to circle back to things.  Feel like I have the right momentum going.

Gail.....I need to make some linguini with manila clam sauce.  Haven't done this in some time, and just love it.  Right now, I have lamb shanks a-braising.  Making beets and sweet potatoes.  Have bulgar to serve with.

You are welcome to join me DorK.  Have some wonderful wine to share.  Tanqueray Sterling if you want vodka.

Beans....nice to see you here.  I can see it is clear in the West, so hoping you got to relish this early autumn weather.  Quite windy here.

NM....loved your commentary and illustrations. I think the job move has made you a lot happier. Sometimes, we need to go forward. So glad this has worked out.

Need to peek in on the dinner.

Wish me luck with my interviews tomorrow. One has a real job attached.  The other might be interesting too as this person may have the contacts I need.

Good thing I have my game on.....actually an adventure, even if one I didn't initially sign up for.

Back to my dinner......not a place where I want surprises, only yumminess.  TitZ up all. - Claire

He loved the seafood pasta - I made it for him the first time I cooked for him. I don't make it very often (so it will be special) but every time I do he tells the story of how he got lost trying to find my house and he was really stressed about being late but I was so kind and understanding and made him feel welcome... and then about how we were eating pasta and he stopped chewing all of a sudden & I thought there was a foreign object in his food but then he swallowed and said, "this is the best thing I've ever eaten" rolled his eyes as though he just had an epiphany... he was a "starving student" & had been living on steamed veggies and broiled chicken seasoned with Mrs. Dash... but that was back when he didn't think he liked wine, or Paris, or children. Ha!

Morning ladies, hope all had fun last night. Good night, birthday for my friend was fun, made it thru dinner and even out late for a nightcap, partially due to phillies baseball game running late. Paying the price this morning, but happy for it, quiet day today due to holiday.

Kathy, hoping your lack of commentary mens your Father is fine, I lost mine in 1999 and still miss him, especially now cause he would have helped deal with my mom through this.

Anyway going to sit in my hot tub, Pants, how about a very spicy, extra horseradish vodka Bloody Mary to ease my stress/headache post last night's festivities (never a hangover in the lounge!).

Beans, I think any name gors, I like Racey Lacy. Nice mix of edginess (if that is really a word)!

Cheers to all. Kymn, hoping you are still hanging tough and worrying about number one !

Good morning, Loungettes! This will have to be a short note, I've got to get ready for the follow up hearing test and sinus CT (which has me quaking in my slippers, but I will try). Or maybe I'lls tart this am and finish later, I've done that before too. Get too caught up to post a short one!

Goldie-that mojito looks so yummy! I may have to steal a taste or two or three! Have a good trip!

Wahine/Kymn-One of the down sides of being a visiting nurse is that I see abuse and abusive situations but one of the up sides is that I have the info to share to help deal with the situation. And I have a personal stake; a cousin of mine was shot and killed by her soon to be ex-hubby, she was leaving him because of his over-controlling behavior. She wanted to get herself and her 3 kids out before it became physically abusive. Unfortunately, it was already physically abusive to her youngest (we found out later). On the outside they had a great relationship and a strong marriage. So I know how deceiving looks can be, and I know how quickly a situation can go from bad to deadly. BTW-there were no guns in the house (except BB guns) to be removed, he went out and bought the gun he used specifically to kill her (and himself). If my cousin had a PFO (protection from abuse order) he would not have been able to buy the gun. But since he hadn't physically harmed her, only verbally threatened her, she didn't ask for a PFO.

Wahine-being able to feel the congestion/wheezing can be either good or bad-being able to feel it means the congestion is mostly in the big air tubes, so it's mostly in the "middle" or upper respiratory system. BUT-that can mean there is congestion in the lower airways, which is not so good. The dry air on airplanes gives lots of people middle or upper airway congestion if they are prone to that. Being tired is a sign of more going on but also easily explained by a long flight. The best thing to do, if he isn't feeling short of breath or looking grey or bluish, or coughing hard, or running a fever or showing any other signs of illness is to take him home, let him rest and try to get him to drink lots of fluids. And take any breathing medications or inhalers he uses. If he's better in the morning, should be no worry. If not, he should be seen in a walk in care center or a local doc's office (if he has a local doc). It's not really emergency room material unless he is very short of breath. Walk in or Urgent care centers, or the clinics at Walmart are a great option for this kind of thing.

Gonna post just this to get it on the board, got to hit the shower and head out soon-back for more later!
