Ditto on the good morning. Weather is nice and fall like here in Philly. Big baseball game tonight, yay! Sheryllynn, maybe not flipping off DH is a mental block, not physical!? Hope you figured it out and/or got over it.

Hitting the hot tub then errands all day, haven't helped much with the day to day since surgery 8/8, so actually looking forward to the grocery store and home center!

Hope all enjoy the day, no matter how mundane or exciting it seems to start. I am feeling better everyday and grateful to all of you for helping me through so far (more to come, but for today, I am just going to be a good wife and baseball fan!). Oh Pants, something in an Irish Coffee?

    Cheers!

    Allison

Like me, good karma. Have only been on this ite for a short while. It has helped. Just went to onco on Friday as expected, 5 yrs. Tamoxifen. Am meeting with ob/Gyn specialist at end of October. Am planning to push for oof. 46, no kids, don't want em. Figure it is either me or my husband (DH in site speak) Maybe easier on him but, figure I get value out of it by eliminating ovarian....

Anyway, welcome, these ladies helped me a ton already. See you on line! Have to put away the $200 worth of groceries we bought to restock my entire home....

Are you facing Chemo or rads?

    Cheers,

Welcome Allison!!!  Sounds like your husband is an ace vintner.  Aspirin and coffee should help big time here.

If you can get out for a walk, it should help.  Had a cycling event the day after serious wine tasting.  Should not have been driving to the cycling event early in the AM, but I did.  Anyway, about six miles in, I stopped for Gatorade, and then was fine.  Man, was I hurting for those six miles though.

Sheryllynn......I am wondering if you are having weird symptoms from Anastrazole (or AI).  You might post on the Arimidex threads.  BTW - I choose to believe that I am CURED.  Most early stage patients are.  Not remission, but cured.

Kathy....sorry about your daughter.  At least no one was hurt.

Kymn....echoing NMs words.  Please take care of yourself.  I am so sorry you have to go through this.  Just so unfair.

I am trying to get going so that I get my sorry hide on my bicycle.  Just a training ride.  Wondering of those crumpets from the crumpet shop will help.

Have a great and fun weekend. - Claire

Thanks Claire, re my DD's accident. I agree with you, my PS, BS, and the onco I saw once all said they feel they got it ALL, so for me I am a cancer SURVIVOR, and think positive that the breast cancer is GONE from my body. Met lots of neighbors today during the yard sale, and one fellow said when he was in Kwajalen (sp?) they had marathons, like IronMan, but since they all were older they called it RUSTMAN....I thought you might get a kick out of that. Need to tell my SIL that, too. Our subdivison is having their first 5k run/walk soon, and at first they had more volunteers and policemen than entrants! But this week it picked up, and lots signed up...just a run in our subdivision, maybe around the lake.

WELCOME Allison! Yes, this is a good place to be, to escape the sadness, treatments, surgeries, of the breast cancer beast. Although we get very close to each other here, so we do talk about what we are going through. Quite a utopia here, the Hot Tatties Lounge (HTL for short) with our Tattie Tenders Pants and Jock, and our Wenches. Lori put together an amazing video of some of the things we have thought up to have here for us all. And we have a casino with an ATM that dispenses free money, etc. Used to have a lot of cyber-parties, but we've had a lot of sadness here lately, so hope to resume all the fun and shenanigans. Drinks have no calories here, and you never get a hangover!

    Cheerio Loungettes!

Kathy.....you mean you can't walk three miles????  I could have done that one during my worst AC days.  Get out there and get thy hide moving.  Only time I would have passed on that one was immediately after trashing my ankle this past summer.

I know this for sure because it's three miles around Green Lake, and just a bit less with my Queen Anne Hill walk.  You don't have to be fast, just do it.

Other news with me is that I finally got to connect with Main Squeeze.  He is doing neoadjuvant chemo (Gemzar) for pancreatic cancer.  They got it at Stage 0-1, so an excellent prognosis.  He is struggling with this one, as all his extended family had him dead and buried.  Not a fun road ahead, but his doctors believe he will be cured and have a full recovery.

I am beyond thrilled, as had feared the worst.  However, I kept up hope because it took three tries for them to find any cancer cells.

The rest of the "connecting" went well too, so I am smiling, if a bit sore, today.  Not so sore I can't cycle though.

Think I will celebrate by taking myself to the wine bar later.  Last day for one of the servers who is headed for a bartending gig in Antarctica!!! - Claire

Yes, I CAN walk 3 miles, Claire. LOVE to walk, in fact....BUT if it is a hot day when the race is scheduled, then I cannot handle walking in the heat. Plus, even though they say Run/Walk, I surely would much rather be one of the runners! Would HATE to be in the back of the pack. I always love walking when the weather is mild, or when we are on our own, as then if I get too hot, I can stop. Also, since my one arch started falling, I prefer to be on my own, so can quit if needed. When we travel, DH always conks out before I do....LOL. Although I can see where you got that idea from, so I did edit my prev post. Cheers!

Or you could make your gals jealous and have Pants or Hunk accompany you! Yeah I know...cold one meant a brewski prolly, just kidding ya. Tired after being up so early for the yard sale, but will be having Pau Hana soon with my parents. They are doing much better that I was expecting, so that makes me vewwwwy happy!

Alison, cheers to returning. Wahine, love your parents. You reminded me to call my mother. (not directly). Me and my dad were always so close, it has been another effort to remember to call her. No matter what the dynamics, they gave us life, one way or the other. Dork, has been so nice, love you, hope you enjoy today! Cheers, Scuby. (yes, heading to the hot tub.)

Think I could use a spot of tea at the moment.

NM - your surgery sounds like it has a lot of ups. We have had so much surgery we're professional patients! I have had trouble with anesthesia too (like after my bmx on a Friday... I wasn't waking up and the anesthesiologist had left for the weekend) and I get really sick. But the last 2 procedures were fine. Maybe they finally got the right dosage? Anyway, hope yours is uneventful.

NM & Kathy - I got Zumba for Wii cuz DD1 wanted to try it... it is still in the box... she is gone... maybe I should try it... maybe not.

Kathy - how was the garage sale? IMHO the only thing worse than going to a garage sale is having one at my house... but that's just me. DH threatens to have one all the time but he doesn't scare me anymore as I now realize he would rather ride his bike to the beach and play volleyball than do chores or organize a garage sale!

Ok, I'm still 5 hours behind and the buzzer just rang so I have to get dinner on the table. I'll be back shortly to catch up and with a JOTD...

Hi gals, remember me?! Have spent the last hour catching up on posts and trying not to watch my Huskers get their butt kicked by Wisconsin. Ouch!

Still fighting the fatigue battle, but docs all say it may take a year to fully get over that side effect. Had my one-month rad check and all looks good. Will see surgeon for final (I think) post-op check and will do first post-lumpectomy mammogram. Plan to insist that port come out. Onc wanted it in 3 years (because of TN status), but his partner doesn't leave them in that long and RO and BS say it can come out when I am ready. I"M READY! Hate it. Am also going to schedule a colonoscopy while insurance is still 100%. But first DH has to get one. I got one 3 years ago and he is 4 years older and never had one and has family history. I finally told him that I am done with all my major treatments and now he needs to get that and prostate checked. Just so we can have a baseline and not worry about it for a long time. Men are so stubborn, but I am stubborn too.

My little Gracie is my life support right now, what an excellent if not impulsive decision on my part. HA! Here is my favorite picture of her. Hope you are having a stress-free, pain-free, restful, enjoyable weekend! I think of you often even if I am terrible lately about posting!! Gracie in flowers

DorK - glad you are having fun with your friends. We'll all be here when they go home so just enjoy them and catch up later...

Weather here was so beautiful today that I refused to spend my day inside cleaning house. Too DD2 downtown and walked outside, then went home to do "yard work" and by yard work I mean I plopped my butt in a lounge chair and read for 3 hours! Then DH came back from the beach and we took WD & corgi for a long walk.

Kristy - 3 YEARS! Yikes! I didn't have chemo but I would imagine that getting that port out would be a major milestone psychologically. You are not going back there! Your Gracie is soooo cute! OMG could just steal her! Better not bring her to the lounge... I just had my colonoscopy (happy birthday to me). My DH claims that he had one but I don't remember it & he is 4 years older than me... I'm thinking maybe he had an exam or something and thought that was it? Surely if he had to drink 2 gallons of salty chemical lemonade and... well you know the rest...  I would have heard about it. Can't convince him to go... I did nag him into getting his skin checked and he had to have lots of "premalignant lesions" destroyed. When he got the bill he was upset that they charged so much. I had to laugh cuz always reach my deductible by the end of January!

Hi Jeanie Beanie! Hope you are getting some rest and all is well.

    JOTD

You know how they say that a Dachshund assimilates its owner's personality? Well, a famous animal behaviorist conducted an experiment to prove that theory and made three appointments for three Dachshunds; an artist's Dachshund, an architect's Dachshund, and a musician's Dachshund,

At 1 o'clock the first Dachshund is brought in and they give him 3 bones. He takes the 3 bones and with his paw, he places them in the form of a triangle. "Wow," observes the scientist "that must be the architect's Dachshund,."

At 2 o'clock the second Dachshund comes in, and they give him 3 bones. He looks at the 3 bones for a moment and then, with his paw on the ground, he draws a picture of the 3 bones. "Wow, the artist's Dachshund," thinks the behaviorist.

At 3 o'clock, no Dachshund,. At 3:30, no Dachshund. Finally, at 4 o'clock the third Dachshund, enters and they give him 3 bones. He eats the three bones, has his way with the other two Dachshunds, trashes the entire lab, then flops down in front of the behaviorist and says, "Hey, how much does this gig pay?"

YAY, BAMA mercilessly beat FL....38 to 10 I think....I dunno...I was already in bed b4 DH came home from watching the game w/ my Dad...AND he left b4 it was over so my Dad could go to sleep! I was just totalled from not getting much sleep b4 the yard sale. Such a nice, crispy, cool weekend.....very invigorating!!! Glad your team won too, Scuby! Sorry yours lost, Kristy. And YES of course we remember you!! You silly girl....glad you stopped by for a drink! Don't be a stranger anymore!!! Such an adorable pic of Gracie....she is the princess of our dog park here!

YAY Beans, glad you stopped by! Hope all your bizziness means more moola coming in! Sure miss you here in the lounge, and hoping you can stay and play with us. I think Jock is missing you a lot...he has had a sad face for awhile.

Gail, I agree, don't really like garage sales, AND I don't go to garage sales. But our community has one 2xyear, so that is the time I try to put a ton of stuff out. Since I am such a shopaholic, it is all new stuff.I do better on Amazon and ebay, but did end up selling enough to make it worth it (I think). We did sell a couple of things we were going to put out for the trash men (huge mulcer/shredder that is bigger than a mower, and also a spreader), but put a small price on them, and they went quickly. Neighbor put out a FREE recliner, but no takers for it....LOL. It does have alot of stains on it, but if he had put it out at 7:30 when all the older men with money come around in their fancy trucks/trailers, they would have taken it in a heartbeat. Lots of them do resales, so they come b4 you set anything up. I had $15 on the $400 mulcher/shredder and a man offered me $10....I said "No, I think I have it priced low enough". So he made some snide comment, and a minute later had his $15 out and wanted someone to help him load it...LOL. Do you really have to drink the gallons of stuff b4 your colonoscopy? There is a MUCH easier way....just about a pint or so of stuff to drink. I can tolerate doing that method with no probs. I used to have to do the other way too, and hated it. Maybe your dr will let your DH do it the easier way, and he will actually do it. Yeah, he may have thought the "finger wave" was it! LOL. My DH always kids his drs that he needs some Johnny Mathis music on, first. OF course, the younger drs don't get that joke, as they don't know who he is! Funny DOTD....thanks!!!

Well today is the last day DH is giving, for contractor (really should call him A$$hole) to show up. Otherwise...dum de dum DUM.....phone calls tomorrow and he surely doesn 't want that! Makes us sick not only the areas he admited right at the front porch, but the rot they painted over (and areas they didn't even paint) that you can see from our sidewalk and driveway. I mean, COME ON, why did they charge us for work they either didn't do, or covered up w/out fixing or replacing. We bought all the materials. I think down the road we will have more damage from areas they assured me were dry and not rotten (very dark wood, under rotten eaves that were replaced)....I should have gotten on the ladder and checked for myself. Aaaarrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh! SO glad we only hired him to ruin the front of the house, and not the back also. LOL. Hope to find someone good for the rest of it. I don't know why, since this is a high-tech area that we have such shoddy workmen! My neighbors had someone do the same thing to their house, last year. When you find someone good, it is like GOLD.

Yup, I just woke up....so of course a very long, rambling post. Just ignore it, or gloss over it, girlz! Hoping our Dork and our Lori are having a blast. Hoping NM is not having to work toooooo hard this weekend! Hoping Kymn is doing better, and that Heather will stop by again for a dwink. Hoping Beans will find time to join us more often.  Hoping Scuby does not dwown in her hot tub, or fall off the bucket! Hoping Claire does not have a bicycle chain break. Hoping Karen had a good holiday and is feeling better. Hoping Kristy and Gail  can get their DH's in for a Heiny Scope! Hoping Donna joins us here, again. OH and PULEEZ forgive me, anyone I didn't mention....brain is not quite awake yet, and I am trying my darnest!!! Very much hoping that Jaybird, and Dee, and HunkyD will come back here and have fun with us! And of course Chrissy, we are following your journal, but hope you will be back in the lounge after you return to OZ after your fantabulous trip!

Myself, I am perusing the humongous buffet and filling TWO platefulls (lol), then will ask Pants nicely to bring me a few mimosas and Irish coffees.....yummmmmmmm. Oooh, I found a nice lounge chair right by the pool. Oh, oh, did I just push someone out of it? Terrible of me to do that. But they WERE passed out and prolly didn't feel a thing. LOL. Have a good Sunday!!!

    Rump Rise! Titz Up! BARMEN!!!

Morning all. I think I will change my user name from my real name. On other sites I'm either Allisonschic or Mrs.Vino, so look for the change! Will also post a picture, have to use another computer because my iPad won't let me upload for some reason? Kathy, your dogs are beautiful. We have two French brittanys, Bella, orange and white, and Booker, black and white. Booker looks a lot like Maverick. I will pull up a pic ASAP.

I'm currently trying to decide wether or not we are going to an art fair today, or staying home to work on painting our kitchen. Thinking the art fair would be much more fun! Gonna put some kahlua in my coffee while deciding. Cheers!

OOOPS Allison, I didn't mean to leave you out....you are our newest loungette, and I gotta get my memory working bettah!!! Awww so sweet yuor Booker looks like Maverick. We rescued ours about 7 yrs ago (they were about 2) from the dog pound....vet and I both think they are half English Springer Spaniel, and Maverick is also half Border Collie, and Molly is half Cocker Spaniel. Same markings, but different sizes, different ears, and different face size. Mav used to eat all of Molly's food....he was very dominant, and so she was so skinny and could also walk UNDER him. Now she has filled out, cannot walk under him, and gets to eat ALL her food! She was very shy and submissive to him, but from day one we taught him to wait till she finished to go to her bowl...so he sits patiently nearby and gives sideways glances at her till she finishes! They are both so sweet and loyal, but Mav just lives for any attention from us. When I am outside working, he is always right by my feet. We were told they were brother and sister but could tell Molly had pups at one time, so don't know their whole story. We were lucky the pound kept them after the date they would have put them down, as they are just so sweet and so special. OF course when we found them we had only intended to get ONE furbaby!!!!   Yummmmm....Kahlua sounds good!

Sounds like a good weekend in the HTL for the most part. Just back from watching phillies lose, bummer, but home to a clean house, lovely, since I heed. Stuck to Russian vodka today. It is called Russky Standart (Russian Standard). We get it here in our state controlled liquor store cheap. Allison, you are right had to use me full desktop to upload photos, you need. Photo bucket or some other site to get at your own pics.

    ,

DorK cant wait to here the details and give you a hug! PTis so much better that way.

Oh well, bed and DH calls and now that I can sleep 6 or 7 hours, I am listening. Cheers to a great week, gonna need sweaters for those of us in the Northeasr.

Hugs, Kymn great to see you check in. No need to ask for prayers, I got you checked into every prayer group that had me on their list. So I got multiple denominations working for you, guessing the rest of the Lounge has done the same. You are in my personal prayers as well.

Pants, think I have been served enough today, can I get tuck in service befor etou go and serve some other loungette? Cheers all, hoping for a great week!

Good morning to all of my breastest buds. NO WAY am I going to try and catch up! I will say welcome to our new gal/s. Kymn, hang in there girl....you will be just fine. Just be careful and aware. Karen, wouldn't it be awesome if the answer to your problems was to go OFF the meds? Wishing you the best.

Well, no gambling gods in Laughlin this past weekend AT ALL! Usually one of us wins a little, but not this time. No biggie tho, as we really don't spend that much. Went to the movies, I think twice, but can only remember one movie we saw! Dolphin Tales.....good family movie. Concert (Leann Rimes) was in a tent, they had swamp coolers but it was still hot. Chairs were old kitchen type chairs that were about 14" in diameter and no space inbetween them. I had a large person to my right and DH is big.....you can guess the rest! I didn't much care for her choice of songs, last year was better. Well, I have month of paperwork to do, DH is going to see the accountant at 9:30 this am.

Here is a video link of our Old West Town, and what we currently have done.

YAY, Sugar Lusty Heat is baaaaaaaack!!!!! Welcome home, Lori! Oh I LOVED your video....so much has been added, and it is totally awesome. Thanks so much for sharing that with us, but I missed hearing your voice on this one! What an amazing Wild West town you two have built. And I loved seeing the g'kids names too....YOU ROCK! Sorry the Gambling Gods were not kind, and that you had such a crowded, and not-so-great concert. But glad you got home safely, and now you are back here with us!!!!

Having a hard morning, so your video really hit the spot! Got lots to do....hoping the "Dey-b4-Twosdey" is good for everyone! Chug-a-Lug, Finish the Mug!
