Morning....brrr.  I wasn't ready to get up but the coffee aroma wafting into my bedroom said it was time.  Maybe that is why God let us invent coffee.  Course' we also had to get a little addicted to it.  Whatever gets the job done.  It will be a good day.

Navy I think you hit the nail on the head......it is hard for the remaining spouse after they lose a mate.  I'm glad your FIL is coming around.  I'm sure it helps when there are grand-kids and great-grands.  My Mother passed on a couple of yrs. after Dad and people said she didn't want to be here without him......but the truth was more like she was already quite ill when he was "ebbing badly" and she hung on to take care of him.

Wendy.....I'm glad you put that quote in.  I don't recall ever putting it in here, but I have read it a lot and it always "speaks" to me.  It is a good reminder to me to step out of my comfort zone.  I could do that so easily when I was younger.....and often is difficult now.  I have become somewhat shy and anything that helps me get over my own roadblocks is a good thing.

Holding Julie and WendyTY  in my thoughts and wishing you well.

    Healing hugs,

    Jackie

    Hi gals,

I'm terribly behind on the posts but wanted to stop in and say Hi to all of you.  I'm sure I'll be sitting at the computer more now that the cooler weather is settling in and the golf season is winding down here.  Still, I think of you gals often and like to stay in touch.

BJ...so sorry to hear about your MIL.  I'm sending prayers your way for a successful surgery and quick healing.  You are a great DIL and she is lucky to have you by her side.

makmak...Oh no!  OUCH!  I can't even imagine how much that hurt!  Hang in there!  As for the hair, I'm hoping that it's just extra shedding.  I did CMF chemo and didn't lose my hair but there were times when I really panicked because the shedding seemed pretty extensive to me.  Nobody but me seemed to notice, though.  I'm hoping that it's the same for you.  Pamper you finger now!

Nancy, it's ALWAYS good to see a post from you. I always think of you when I go through your town on the way to Rock Falls, and I'm so glad you got to participate in that walk.  Stop in more often.  I miss you!

Connie...you REALLy wamped Susan and I this last week on Jungle Jewels.  Wow!  That had to have been fun!  We'll try again this week!

Well, today is a "stay at home" day so I have LOTS of jobs around here to get accomplished.  I don't think I'll do it sitting at the computer so I'd better get off here and get moving!

    Hugs to all of you.

    Have a good one!

Makmak.... big ouch!  You don't need this right now.  No pumpkin carving for you.... leave that to the experts!  BJ... prayers go out for your MIL and take care of yourself too.  Julie.... what is going on?  I must have missed that too.

I have given over to the cool fall weather.... I think my sandals are definitely DONE for the year.  Booooh!  But I still have geraniums and begonias blooming like crazy... bet they will DONE by the weekend too.

I have to be at NW at 6am tomorrow morning for my next date with my PS.  Just twilight anesthesia this time so should be on my way home by noon.  We are supposed to fly to Charlotte this Friday to spend the weekend with our DS and his wife so I have my fingers crossed that I will be good to go by then.  Lago... what do you think my chances are of that happening?

Joan I went out to lunch  and a few shops the day after and I had general, revision to lefty and fat transfer… granted I did have to tell my friend to bring me home after a few hours. I was sore but not taking anything but the occasional Tylenol. I did my full walk (slower) on Monday. My surgery was on a Thursday.

But would I have flown 2 days later… I doubt it. I doubt my PS would let me either although you are not having as much done.

Check with your doctor. He might not want you to be so far until you have your post-op visit.

Good morning on this rainy Tues. morn.  I'm not fond of rain this time of yr. but it comes when it comes and I'll make the best of it.

Thinking of all of you too and hoping Chicago is dry today.

I'll be checking in later.  See you all then.

    Hugs, Jackie

All went very well this morning in surgery. Twilight anesthesia was easy and have no side effects. We were dismissed by 10am so stopped for breakfast at the hospital cafeteria before heading home. My PS is so happy with the outcome today. He said he'd give my whole reconstruction outcome an A+. Now, there is a man proud of his work! All the fat (80cc's) came from my currently numb belly so some bruising there and on my foobs. Have orders for no tennis and swimming for a couple weeks, but PS said that traveling this weekend would not be a problem. Yeah!

My PS was obviously disappointed when I told him that I was definitely leaning toward 3D nipple tattoos to finish things off. I think that I hurt his feelings. He asked that I wait a good 3-6 months before making that decision and I am good with that.

Well, I am going to force myself to take a nap. We got up at 330am this morning and I never sleep well when I know the alarm is set that early. Hope everyone is doing okay today. Robo and madismom.... over the hump and half way thru..!

    Hi ladies:

It is so windy here....perfect Halloween weather.  I lknow I am not suppose to say this, but I love this weather.  It gets my imagination going. Halloween and Thanksgiving are my favorite holidays.

Buddy, you sound great as ever.  What is this weight reduction doctor going to do?

BJ, thinking about you always.  I remember those days when I worked all day and then visited with mother.  Those were hard days.  Take care of yourself.

    That's it from me!

Zap  my options were a verticle sleeve or a band.  I shose the sleeve.  They pretty much cut your stomach off and leeve a sleeve tube like stomach.  So you fill up fast.  Its done laproscopy but there is still a risk in it leaking on the staple line.  I guess there are risks with any thing.  I agree with the spooky weather.  I just heard somthing hit the house and it scared the bageebers out of me...

    Buddy!!! NIce to see you.

Started a freelance gig today. Went great. Worked on powerpoint decks all day. I thought I really didn't know how to use powerpoint but I was wrong. The new version is so much easier. People are great too. If only they needed someone full-time. Ah but jobs like these people don't leave.

Also got a call for a temp-to-perm position as well today. Hope they can wait till after this current gig is up.

This weather is gross. Only one more day of it. The weekend is supposed to be really nice.

Part of my long held philosophy from two from interesting people:

The problem of synchronicity has puzzled me for a long time, ever since the middle twenties, when I was investigating the phenomena of the collective unconscious and kept on coming across connections which I simply could not explain as chance groupings or "runs." What I found were "coincidences" which were connected so meaningfully that their "chance" concurrence would represent a degree of improbability that would have to be expressed by an astronomical figure.
    --Carl Jung

Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous.

    Hi Ladies,

I had a great day yesterday visiting all of my co-workers.  I had not seen them since I started chemo on 8/1.  My dd's wedding went well, with just a few 'whoops!'  Nothing major.

As far as the weather, you have to admit that the pictures of the crashing Lake Michigan shoreline that they were showing on the morning news were pretty neat.

Lago...it sure would be nice if that job could morph into full time.

    BJ...thoughts and prayers...
