Tiedye - About genetic testing, in my case I was told it would take 2 weeks, but someone accidentally sent the wrong tissue sample, so it had to be all redone and it was about 2 weeks later so for at least 4 freakin weeks I was freakin. I was pretty upset, maybe they sent the wrong sample in your case too...it's posed to be from the original tumor and someone accidentally sent one of my very beautiful lymph nodes instead. Gawd, how awful to get a call that is urgent...I am wishing you luck in all of this! And no, visiting for virtual drinks throughout the day is a must-have, not bad!

Scuby - That's what I understood too there is only one company on the planet that can do the genetic testing and it's really expensive unless your insurance covers it. I was notified that my insurance would not cover it and then my doctor wrote a letter to the insurance co and it ended up being covered. Freekin, man I'm freeeeekin just remembering all this! Glad you like my foil crown avatar! It made me laff, I'm just always looking for things to make me crack up. And crack everyone else here up in spite of all the &*^%$&*^&^*^*^!!! We need to laff to be human again! I was reading in my journal last night about when we lost Junie, just so sad. She was just a wonderful person. I had never heard of dog beers before and that just cracked my a$$ up! Junie, I'm toasting you again with a nice cold ML and a dog beer chaser.

Me too, have lotta fam history but was not positive for 9 gene mutations they had to test for last year, including BRCA1 and BRCA2. My genetic counselor said to check back as there may be additional genes identified in the future. Great.

Goldie - that is so cool your DH and wahine's got to talking so much, sounds so fun! Read you gots yer well woman check up...I am sure hoping all turns out great...my PAPST isn't for a while but do have my one year MO and mammos coming up - argh. I think alls fine, but it is a bit nerve-wracking. I'm thinking of you with all best wishes for a clean bill of health once again!!

Great news about hot flashes and all, I'm still getting them a lot and just too stubborn to take another pill for anything. My MO says there's some pill that will have a sedative effect and help me sleep and reduce hot flashes...I'm just too scared to take anything else. The tammy already is not fun. What to do??? What to do??? Anyway, I'm so glad your group went well. Sheesh, that is awful about your friend, Teri, and I will pray for her to heal up quickly.

Karen - good point, 96 and raking leaves sounds like she's pretty hearty! So sorry your mom is in denial, must be so hard for you. I just don't know what to say except that I know it must be hard for you to deal with and you must be having a ton of feelings about all of this. I am just wishing the best for you. Claire - I love country music but dint see the awards, I don't watch TV at all anymore. Most of it is to dumb down the masses IMHO. I'm sorry the networking meeting was no good, that is so frustrating, but glad you got a nice meal.

Bernie - I will join you in candle lighting for Kathy's aunt. I do know red wine is the painkiller of my choice. Just love it...it's not too strong and just takes the edge off so no pills are needed. So cute DH says not allowed for breakfast...LOL!

my book is in my car and trying to decide if I want to go outside and get it or just read my magazine that came today....put a load of launddry up a couple hours ago and just remembered that it needs to go in the dryer.....now need to wait till its dry enough to take out of the dryer!!!  geeze....let me count how many things have slipped my mind today....best make a list of what I want to do tomorrow...including what I need to cook for shabbat dinner...already thinking that I'll forget to cook!!!  DD#2 won't be home as she has a 'shabbaton" this week-end and is eating Shabbat dinner at the rabbi's house.....so its just me and DH and may DS.....so will need to scale back on the cooking...especially since we are invited out for Shabbat lunch on Saturday....so don't need as many leftovers.....now just have to figure out what I want to cook.....grocery shopping is done.....just need to remember to take the chicken (or meat) out of the freezer....make the challah and bake something for dessert......

hot flashes are back again....open the window, close the window...put on my fleece, take off my fleece!!!!  when do they ever go way!!!! its 5 years since my ooph.....guess its like everything else post BC....no rhyme or reason....it just is!!!!
