Greetings from rainy Seattle. Yuck. I don't usually do domestics flights but I wanted this other flight attendant's Moscow trip and had to take this trip from her to get it.
But I'm glad I did as I was able to meet Kathy (!!!) and her family today.
Kathy is lovely as is her mother. We chatted for only about 45 minutes before I had to get to work. It was nice to be able to connect even for that short about of time. And while she'll say she didn't look so good I thought she looked great for having spent hours squashed in an airplane!I'm sure she'll check in after she rests, today was a long day for them as they were driving to Alabama after they got to Atlanta! Crazy!
I'm off to enjoy my cheese & crackers before bed. No wine tonight as I'm too tired.

Newbie alert-stopping in w/my pumpkin beer to say hi. I'm an er+ girl but what can I do? I already gave up sugar for cancer and was willing to replace all sodas,juices etc w/booze. That just wasn't good enough for those researchers,now they want to take that too. Ahhh,Cheers.

Hi ya goils!!! And a BIG WELCOME to all the new goils popping int the HTL (Hot Tatties Lounge)!!!! We sure are getting a good crowd in here we need to orgaise a few more bar stools and Hammocks so everyone can be seated and be able to relax.
The tenders names are Pants and Jocks and there is another but I can't remember right now what his name is but I'm sure he'll forgive me. They are here to serve whatever beverage you would like just let them know an they will never run out.......yahoo!!!!! They are also up for giving a good massage and actually anything you want....within reason...or without....it doesn't matter, they are up for it!

Was amazing to meet up with our beautiful, sweet, Jaybird! She was ready to work a flight, so was all polished and put-together, wheras I was all disheveled (sp) and rumpled after being squished for that long flight. How awesome to meet up, and so nice to put her face with her screen name. Jaybird, I really appreciate that you took the time to come to the gate to meet us, that was really special. But yikes, I forgot to give you a hug from Dork...actually for you and Avery...Just remembered that. Sorry Dork, but I did give her plenty of hugs on my own! DH's knee is still painful, esp going up or down a step, so guess he needs to get it checked out. I know the flt attendant didn't mean to, but she sure rammed it with the drink cart purdy hard.

Bernie, We bought 4 bottles of Tullamore Dew (sp) at dutyfree at the airport without even tasting it, going on your recommendation! They did let us sample some Jameson(sp) and 2 new flavors of Baileys. Nice to go thru customs THERE and not when we arrived in the US. Miss you already! DH said if you recommended that likker, that was good enuf for him. (Jaybird we looked for the one you recommended, but never could find it; I am sure it would be good too!).
Not much sleep last night...gotta recover from jet lag I guess. Nice to be home in our own bed though....can only imagine how good Chrissy's bed felt after SIX WEEKS away from home! Loved, loved, loved hugging our furbabies again...priceless. BUT we really enjoyed the tour of Ireland, covered so much area, and so much history that we prolly will never remember all we saw. Gotta go thru the 700+ pics I took and see if any turned out. Bernie, you have a beautiful country and I know you are proud of it....someday would love to visit with you longer, and also see more of your town....we were impressed with what we did see. And oh, I did fill up on a lot of Bulmers Cider....we can get Guinness, Smithwicks, and Harp on draft in the US, but only in certain places....not sure if there will be Bulmers anywhere though!

Dara, welcome...............yes, we have barstools, LOTS of them. No bar tenders though, here we have Tattie Tenders, since the name of this lounge is the The Hot Tatties Lounge, The HTL for short.

However, I could not find any info on the company itself, just a chili cook off contest. Oh well, saw the truck and had to take a pic of it.
Claire, I saw that link too. It's Michigan tho, not Minnesota (have to stick up for my home town). Sounds yummy, I would use some sort of beef, other than hamburger. Never tried beer in chili, will have to give it a shot.

Oh yeah, Chris Noth was on the flt from Ireland....got to see him when he walked up and down the coach section (he was in First Class, duh!), and also when we deplaned. He looked good (very good!) till the end of the flight, then his hair was rumpled and he looked as tired as I did. Thats why I think he might be a nice addition to the lounge.....(no I didn't take this pic)...

Gotta love kids.....a friend who is a photographer was having a special in honor of 11/11/11....11 minute photo shoot for $11 and then $11 per print (or j-peg)......she is awesome...one of the best pics of DD was taken by her......so I thought, yeah, I'll do this....so last night when DS got home I asked him if he worked today and what about next Sunday....so he asks why and I tell him I want to get a family photo....and DS goes, well DD#1 isn't here and what were we going to crop her in?? and then he says he's really not interested in a family photo!!! so still going to do it, but it just might be me and DD#2 or maybe include DH but that seems weird since DS stilll lives at home......but photographer is fanatastic and it will be fun....we picked a time for next sunday....DD#2 is still tired from all the travelling, time change and still catching up on school work!!!
gorgeous fall day out in denver....need to get DH to blow the leaves into the corners of the back yard as Bear keeps dragging leaves into the house...
not sure what I want to do today......but definitely need to get back into the daily walking and stop shoving food in my mouth.....need to get serious about shedding these extra 10#.....if I work hard at it and they don't come off, then it is what it is, but if the weight is because I shove too much junk in my mouth, stopping that should help....also need to cut back on the wine...or only drink at dinner.....got in the bad habit of drinking (and then snacking) while I'm on the computer.....mostly in the evening.....need to go back to water or herbal tea and if I'm going to much, let it be celery, carrots and snap peas.

Karen, whichever family members you get in the pic, it will be treasured! Glad you are going to do it. As for Chris Noth, he was "Mr.Big" in Sex and the City (Carrie's, (Sarah Jessica) boyfriend), in series and movies. Apparently he is currently in "The Good Wife", although I have not seen that series.
I am with you on losing weight (50 lbs for me though), and yes, will TRY to snack on healthy food. Having an apple right now, for b'fast but "need" to try some of the candy from Ireland b4 starting to be serious about losing weight. LOL.

Hi again....
Back from my rides and travels. Got soaked yesterday, but only slightly wet today. Actually love the November colors and the moody atmosphere. Wonderful for all that comfort food. (Such as chili!!)
Beer is great in most meat stews (unless you are adding wine). Made my recent pot roast in leftover Guinness. It was beyond delish.
Beans.....the only problem with "DOUGH" is that I can eat the whole warm loaf of bread myself. And with a stick of good butter. So I ration myself.
Am drinking some bracing tea right now as too soon for wine.......now, don't tempt me.

Ok, gonna catch up later, but just had to post this from my iPhone. Out for DD's bay dinner at Fuji hibachi grill. I never wear a wig, but DD and her friend asked me to. Sooo wasn't thinking, just dawned on me it can't be close to heat or it will melt!!!! OMG!! WTF am I gonna do? Here comes the chef, wish me luck!! Ugh!!

Allison, sit back! Reminds me of Christmas a couple of years ago, my sister (IDC) singed her wig so bad over the Christmas roast she had to get it trimmed. The next day she was at work, she kept getting compliments on the new hairdo! She was laughing her a$$ off! Enjoy!
