    Hi Onward,

I live in Palos Heights and have heard of the Dr.  I have heard good things, but a lot of the controlling LE when it is bad is to be diligent about the wrapping, which I am not.  I recently went there for a support group that they do quarterly at Palos Hospital.  I recently just got a custom glove and sleeve and also this other "apparatus" (for lack of a better word) to wear in place of the wrapping.  I have done physical therapy a couple of times.  My problem is that anything that helps the arm makes the hand worse.

I will bring these things to the party tomorrow and you can check them out.

    Looking for to seeing everyone!

    Lisa

Lemonsdrop I had the MRI on both breasts. MRIs can give false positives so don't panic. It's a good thing they are doing this. I had some LCIS (precancer) inthe other breast. Most of the time LCIS can't be seen in a mammo. LCIS is not invasive but I decided to do the double.

Lago, I already had MRI on both breasts, but now they want another look, that is what is making me nervous! I am already wanting BMX, but thought it was just prophylactic on right, now worried that I have more cancer than I thought to deal with. Ugh. Just want to get rid of these breasts. Fast.

madismommy... bad newsCry.  We will miss you at the party.  Hope that you will be able to make the next gathering.

blackjack... great newsSmile.  It would not have been the same without you.

lemondrop... NW likes to have their own MRI's so don't fret too much about that.  Your experience there sounds just like mine. They are very efficient about getting your appts lined up... bing, bing, bing.  I really appreciate that so much.  I remember that Dr Hansen called the PS she was recommending for me very late in the afternoon and he stayed late that same night to meet with us and spent over an hour going through everything with us.  I love that guy!  We left there so relieved and even excited to get things going.  Does that even make sense??

BJ-glad to hear they're letting you out of the big house, hope your recup continues.

L'drop-your story sounds much like mine.  Originally one spot, went for second opinion, including MRI, and found two more spots on the right and a malignant spot on the left.  The myriad of tests, biopsies and appointments felt like it went on forever, but it was so worth it to get it all (hopefully) right off the bat.  Try to be patient and keep your eye of the long-term goal of nabbing all that pesky cancer.

    Adey/Lago-you gals crack me up

Sorry everyone can't make it tomorrow, but we'll have you in our thoughts!

Okay, ladies!   No one wants BJ to come to the party more than  me....but I also want her to rest and regain her health.

With that in mind I am bringing my very old video camera so I can take soak in the  scene in for any one unable to attend. I am thinking that some of you young ones may have a more modern camera.  I would be happy to use the camera to "talk" and "listen" to Illinos Ladies so that those who are unable to attend, may feel a part of it all, while you socialize.  I would also  be happy to download the film and  make copies for any one who wants a copy.

Perhaps this has already be planned.  If so....never mind! Smile

Sido, so sorry you are here.  Have you looked into Johns Hopkins?  They are having a trial on a vaccine.  You may qualify. From the little i've heard it sounded promising.  You never know what tomorrow will bring, none of us do, but a cure could be just around the corner.  I know someone who has brain cancer and Northwestern developed a cure!  The tumor is gone.  Hang in there, we're pulling for you.

Rita, were you on the 3 week or 2 week cmf protocol?  I'm on 3 week but just read that the two week is 4% more  effective.  Sloan told me that they suspected it would be more effective but there was no proof but the susan Love book said there is proof.  A person could go crazy with all of the conflicting info.

I went for the first infusion at Lutheran General on Tuesday.  The nurse told me she would give me sterioids.  I told her that the sloan dr said no steroids for me, i am pre diabetic and have terrible blood pressure problems.  she pooh poohed that and gave it to me anyway!  How does a nurse get to make such a decision?  I went home and almost ran to the er.  I felt as though I was having a heart attack.  I never had heart pain before.  My blood pressure went through the roof.

Now my husband is so angry he wants to go back to MSK.  I have hunch that the MSK dr wanted me on cmf in part to avoid the steroids.  When i told the dr here what happened he was shocked and said "no steroids for you!"  I wish he'd said that sooner.  Something really bad happened but I'm not sure what.  Anyway I'm glad I survived!  Very scary though.  But then being scared is becoming the new normal for me.

Sorry i missed the party.  With the infusion on Tuesday I was wiped out.  Besides, my wbc is down.  Glad it went well though.
